Thank you for not only making this video, but for showing the difference in sound profiles between stock and different mods. I ordered my Sugar65 a few days ago and was wondering what mods to do to it. Your video gave me a better idea what to expect from each mod. I can´t wait until mine comes in!
i ordered the kit as well. which mods did you end up settling with? for marbly sound stock is good? for the PE foam mod, do you take anything out? like the PET layer included?
@@jiwany unfortunately I had to cancel my order on AliExpress because the seller did not say that he was out of stock. So I got the GMK 67 instead and I quite like it. I did the PE foam mod, tape mod and polly fill. I really love the marbly and thocky sound it has.
Nice video right there! Got mine a week ago and I can vouch with the stock, it sounded great already without any mods. I just had to add 3 layers of tape and akko v3 cream yellow and it sounds immaculate!!!
Thank you!!!! Yeah I was really shocked at how cheap the board is for its quality! The tape def helps with the flex cuts! I’m sure your board sounds great with the cream yellows :D
I bought this keyboard not long ago and holy shit.. to my previous keyboard (akko 3068bplus) it is a world between them, and they are the same price as well. I think in this price range (i got mine for 60€) it is the best aluminium bsrebones you can get, the stabs are amazing and the overall quality is insane
Hey!! Yes I agree! The board is heavy and the stabs are great!!! The value is insane! The only thing I think they could done was to have add a weight option for people to upgrade :D
i cant seem to get mine to clack thock or sound poppy. Maybe its cause i have cheap keycaps? idk it just dont sound anything like yours. i have akko cream yellows lubed, tape mod, tuned the stabs, and tried all the same foam configs, but still dont sound even close, mine has no life to it, my sk71 runs circles on it. Can you help me?
How do you reset it? All my number keys are not functions keys, and my window key is on left alt. I tried to reset it using the software, but still the same. Please help.
@@keyblobs Oh yeah, don't get me wrong, there are a lot worse out there lol. Even my Leobog Hi75 sounds more hollow than this without foams. I should probably get a Sugar someday, but without taobao it's $65. Still not bad for what it is!
Oh!! I was planning to try the leobog hi75 because there are so many good reviews on it! I think it sounds more hollow because it’s less compact due to the layout? Yeah the sugar65 is like the gmk67 but full alu! I don’t understand how they manage to bring down the price so much!
Lastly I wanna ask a genuine question. I have sugar65 also and I just sold my akko cream blue v3 and I can't decide between Ktt kang whites and Akko cream yellow. What should I get between white & yellow
Hi!!! So far I’ve tried the aniya, BCPs and bunnies by BSUN and they are all quite clacky and loud! You can check out the switch reviews I’ve made for these switches :)
Ooo the sugar65 is full aluminium so if you’re gonna bring it around the gmk67 is a better choice :) also this only supports wired connection but the gmk67 is tri mode if it matters to you! :)

@@keyblobs ayo 2:38 how many switches were in there? like 10x2, 20? Was that enough to fill in the keyboard? That's like a small McDonald's meal Also, I've gotten the Akko 5075B Plus and it is a clamp shell design, it is a b√tch to open it, I'm telling u! I broke my nails man. Urgh~ I didn't even want to mod it, I had PCBA connectivity issues and had to open it up under the Akko guidance and I modded it while I was at it. I don't even know why. I just wanted to have a keyboard to play games with lol and somehow ended up seeing TH-cam videos on mods of this keyboard and kind of discovered this stuff after that. Like two weeks ago
No there are 35 switches in each box :) 2 boxes will fill the board haha. Nooo I think it’s like 2 McDonald meals haha. Omg you can use a pry tool! It will be much easier :D nice!!! What switches do you have in them and what mods did you do? :)
@@keyblobs I did use a prying tool. Regardless they're not completely able to open it on their own, unfortunately.. The 5075B Plus (white, ISO layout) came with the Akko V3 Yellow Pro. They're factory lubed I think (the Pro and CS switches). I wanted to go for the mid 2000s keyboard aesthetics with the tall keys and white coloring. I luv its design. Plus the extra black beycaps. I also ended up modifying the knob accidentally when I discovered a broken flashlight and just took the tip and put it around the knob with some rubber and it looks pretty darn sick. Also, also! Since you're curious about my weird approaches in terms of modifications, pro tip; turning the keycaps is amazing for gaming! I took a few keycaps out and placed them diagonally or towards other directions which made them easier to press while doing casual gaming. Actually typing is fun too. I kind of got lost when I tried to type on keycaps facing all the same exact position. Additionally, Akko offered me to choose two sets of switches + a PCBA replacement board. I chose the Penguin Switches (silent tactile, because of the spacebar being kind of annoyingly loud) V3 Piano Pro (same as yellow but less travel distance and a more pingy sound I think) But I chose the piano switches primarily because they're white and black and my keyboard is black and white too. So it looks a little better than yellow switches. Also I have a different batch of this keyboard which resulted in it not having the "Akko" labeling on the front of the board. Makes it look cleaner as well. Another fun fact, when I first got this keyboard j hated it. I didn't wanted it. After that connectivity issue and the button feel truly agitated me. It felt claustrophobic and unlikable at first. But now I love it. Perhaps I was afraid to try something "new" after spending a hundred bucks on something.
OH! Is the keycap profile OSA? Like really tall? Then that would make sense to turn it around! HAHA. I will try that sometime :D nice, it’s great Akko offered to replace the switches and PCB!Their customer service is top notch! The pianos have a clackier sound right? And I heard the penguin switches have a really interesting typing feel. Makes me wanna try it out! I’m glad you enjoy your keyboard!!! You sound like you spent a ton of effort on it!! Hi! I think there might be an issue with your PCB :(
Foamless is super hollow, but of course to be expected at the price point! This board (with foams) absolutely kills it for being so cheap.

Is there a big difference in typing flex w and w/o tape mod?
I really like how my keyboards sound with tape mod, but I don't want to sacrifice flex just for sound, "if" there is a significant difference.
Yes, definitely with 3 layers added. But not when only 1 layer of tape is added :)
