Set gravity to 2x earth. Boom! You're driving with F1 grip. (careful you don't lose your wheels though) But seriously, BeamNG could massively improve how cars handle at high speeds.
They literally just had a major FFB Update within the last week Also, BeamNG has some of the best driving physics out there. There's room for improvement sure, but it's pretty damn good. You can tell there isn't the slightest bit of hand holding. I have plenty of beamng videos on the Nordschleife and none of them went this terribly.
The issue, really, is that the race suspension for most cars is too stiff even for the near-flawless tarmac found on racetracks. I've actually gotten better times on a lot of challenges by actually mounting the sports, as opposed to the race, suspension kits.
PlokTheMasterGamer no, just no. All of the cars in beam NG bounce around like they have no shocks/dampers. If you think NG is high on handling realism, I don’t think anyone should trust your opinion on the matter. Play Assetto Corsa, iRacing, GT Sport, or hell, even Forza (not horizons) and you’ll see some semblance of how game cars should handle. Handling is, by FAR the worst part of Beam NG. Still a great game though.
The map is ported from a different game, so it has some problems. The grass has the same grip as the asphalt, the barriers are pretty much black holes, and the edge of the track will eat your tyres in a couple of places
It does have but not real-time like the crash physics. That would be mathematically too expensive resource wise. It barely runs on weak machines anyway
This reminds me how far BeamNG has come. The days of high speed sliding are gone and it's amazing I can now lap this same circuit with a F1 car with a keyboard.
Ben 1014 I think it’s because the front splitter makes a lot more downforce than the massive wing. I drove a car without the wing once, it was way worse
Shit setup, check the suspension setup, it's horrible, totally wrong spring rates, damper settings all over the place, anti rolls ball unbalanced, wheel geometry not good, etc. Properly setup it actually drives nice. Only some cars are properly setup, ETK's are nice (handle like BMW's should) and Sunbursts are good too in all but Hillclimb versions.
Been dealing with alot of bs recently (clinical depression, family illness/death and a pretty shitty breakup) I just wanted to say, your videos never fail to bring a smile to my face. Especially the slightly less serious videos like this. Thanks Jimmy
You have the game set to Arcade transmission behavior which is why holding down your break engaged reverse, it's not because it's an auto. (You might already know this but if you don't it can make using an auto better if you set transmission behavior to realistic).

I'm pretty sure you crash because you brake while turning. In (for example) AC it means you get more weight on the front to make it more stable and avoid understeer, while in BeamNG it means taking weight off the already unstable rear, so the car spins. Often in BeamNG cars tend to oversteer a lot, while they don't understeer as much as they should
@@Kasmuller too much weight yeah maybe but but literally all racing techniques involve shifting the weight forward before turns to either cause oversteer or to aid in gripping the turn.

The Sunburst Hillclimb isn't quite as fast but it drives like a crazy hillclimb car should - it's controllable well past the limit of grip. I'll have to try softening the suspension, I haven't played much with that stuff in BeamNG yet.
You have to spend a significant amount of time tuning suspensions and tire pressure in beamng. One setup properly you can actually have something drivable. If you have lower tire pressure in the back, more lore speed damping, but less spring stifness, it should already help a bit
Jimmer, you need Automation so you can create and export cars into Beam. There's a downforce setting too which actually works. You can actually create a replica of most engines and setups - worth a go mate!
