      Well happy belated birthday then haha!
      Bluetooth is actually already possible, so added selling point for you there perhaps! I didn't use it as I don't have a PC with bluetooth.
      Glad the video was helpful!

    Damn,,, now I have my eye on these things.
    I can't help but remember the days when I started doing music. Back then, the most exotic things we had were fuzz, wah pedals, and, if you were really lucky, some kind of tape echo. Moog synthesizers existed, but were prohibitively expensive. Consumer grade computers didn't exist. Now look what we got.

    • @gaydolftitler8499

    When I wanted to get into MPE I researched this and the Roli Seaboard Block. I got the Roli first, but I wasn't quite satisfied, so I ended up getting the Morph as well, to compare. I sold the Roli. The Morph is the way to go.

      The best way to go was the og Roli Lightblocks when they were on sale through walmart for $60 shipped lol. Buy four and you have a mini Linnstrument for $240. I only bought two because I was broke at the time. :[ Sad to look back on.

    Nice overview, looking forward to more with it.
    For wavetables it would be great to have something like 2 simultaneous XY pads to control 3D wavetables.

    • @VenusTheory
      @VenusTheory  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For sure! More coming soon!
      With the Buchla Thunder overlay wavetable synths can be a lot of fun as you can use the two larger areas as XY pads with your thumbs for the wavetable position and filter (or some other combination) which is a really fun/unique way to make some sounds!

    • @VenusTheory
      @VenusTheory  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yo! You'd need a MIDI interface for that. This only works over USB or via Bluetooth (BT MIDI adapters exist for relatively cheap too). So, you'd plug in to your computer via USB and send MIDI out from the interface, or use a MIDI interface with a USB input.

    • @VenusTheory
      @VenusTheory  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Glad you dig the channel! The Microfreak doesn't do MPE as it's not an MPE controller, but it does output polyphonic aftertouch which is pretty cool. For true MPE, options are fairly limited still but the Morph still remains my #1 recommendation due to how cheap and useful it is.

    Hey man, fellow Morph owner here. I have a Polyend Tracker on the way, which has 2-way MIDI USB C port. Would I be able to use a cable of the USB-C to USB-C variety to control MIDI stuff-n-things in the Polyend Tracker or would I need to plug both into a MIDI interface or computer etc?

  • @pumpernickelplace
    @pumpernickelplace 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I think this or the Joue is going to be my temporary solution until the The Osmose by Expressive E is released. My background is piano and that looks perfect to me. I was almost going to get the Keith Mcmillen k-board pro 4 because I found 48 month financing for it... but looking at how low it's already selling used I'm afraid it's going to lose a huge amount of its value if I buy it new and then sell it later. So, I think this or the Joue should do the job for now. Just trying to find something to use with the Hyrdasynth and Argon 8 to determine if I hold on to those long-term...

    • @VenusTheory
      @VenusTheory  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Morph is killer, really nice as just a small 'everyday' controller, and as an MPE device. I'd love to get an Osmose myself, but sadly I don't have the space for it. Maybe one day though!

    • @connorsol
      @connorsol 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd recommend joining the PolyExpression forums, a dedicated MPE enthusiast community who'll be able to help with all these sorts of questions. Remember that the Joue *Play* is kind of their "meant for beginners" product, whereas the original Joue Board or w/e it was, was more of their equivalent to the Morph. I own a Morph and chose it over the Joue after some debate and am very happy I did. Of course, I'd love to own every MPE controller out there, including the Striso Board, the Erae Touch, etc.

      You are talking about the price of an MPK mini. This is new tech with many possible applications. I personally think it is priced reasonably. Midi controllers in general are cheap as peanuts these days. It makes sense when they release one that is actually very different that it wont cost the same as the others.
