I own the 2011 version of this model. LOVE IT. I get in an Accord, Fusion or the like, and they are boring in comparison. Just a fun car to drive. Made for people who like to drive.
Ford owned Mazda, and Mazda designed most parts and looks, this car is based off the fusions (CD3 Platform.) That's why the Mazda has blind spot, sensors, and basically sync and Bluetooth audio from ford.
The Mazda 6 GT 3.7L is by far the best drive, fastest, and best looking when compared to ford's, Honda or Toyota. if you don't think so you haven't driven one. Trust me I own two, and looking to by a third. Absolute best buy for the buck.

I love my 2010 6 V6. I seriously pity everyone with the i4 version because having 272 stock horsepower and the handling of a much smaller car is too much fun to describe. Especially with a car this big. I've only ever seen one other V6 in my area so it's kind of cool to know that I own a pretty rare car.
Atrophes The only thing that this video reminds me of is that if you don't have the blind side monitors you're going to be doing a lot of over the shoulder peeking. This car feels a LOT smaller than it actually is. The mirrors don't reach around as well as they should.

From 2010 to 2018, I had a black 2009 Mazda 6 Grand Touring with tan leather interior, the "electroluminescant" guages, and a rear spoiler, which was a less common option. It was an awesome looking car, I got nothing but compliments on it. The 3.7 L V6 was fast and responsive, and overall, the car was fun to drive. I never had any significant issues with the drivetrain. Unfortunately, the Ohio winters, road salt, and potholes took their toll on the car over time. By 2016, the transmission cooler lines had rusted out and needed to be replaced. By 2017, the subframe had rusted so badly, it needed to be replaced, which was $1,200 job. By 2018, most of the alloy rims were so bent that they were causing the tires to lose air and needed to be replaced. By then, I decided to it was time for an SUV for everyday driving in Ohio. Still, I miss how fast this car was and how it looked.
This car is amazing. I have the 4 cyl, but is peppy enough when not laden with 4 people and a trunk full of bags. The trunk has struts and no goose hinges- so huge trunk. The grip and handling is excellent, sounds nice for a 4 cyl as pointed out by my buddies, manual shift mode is the true manual mode, no auto up shifts, 800 km plus highway range. I can only imagine how much better the V6 is going to be. This car is better than any standard mid size.
Note that the car year was back in 2012. Judging by the "outdated" interior of this model, most cars in the 2014 models would also be considered outdated as well.
This makes me miss my 2006 Mazda 6s. However, I don't think I could every buy another Mazda due to all the problems I had with my 2006. Loved the car but it had serious issues. Got rid of it as soon as the powertrain warranty was up. Really hope Mazda will prove me wrong in the near future because I would love to own another one because it was a great driving car.
Got the base 09, since i payed the car off I have been installing all the upgraded parts little by little. Oil changes 3000k, 2 trans drain and fill (easy to do yourself). Brake pads once. Spark plug once, In 100k miles. I do not drive stupid but when I do it the manual mode and power band control is pretty cool. K&N air filter makes it sound better. Mid grade gas burns nice. Gas mileage is still within 2 mpg of when i got it with 38k miles.
@@MAGZIVE Ok, the only difference with yours is the dipstick is short, kinda in there and bolted in. Sounds bad but it's not. You just need a long funnel. Use the proper trans fluid: Idemitsu ATF TYPE-M. Supposedly there are alternative synthetic trans oils that can be used but i just got the right stuff. Anyway on the bottom of the black pan under the car near the drivers side front tire there is a alan key drain bolt. I just drain that. Measure what came out and add that much in new fluid back in. It will be close to three quarts. Do not overfill. Do not overfill. Do not overfill. Put 2 quarts in, let it run and add fluid a tiny bit at a time. Trans fluid expands with heat. Let the added fluid warm up and check, then again. When it's just above the low mark go through the gears with e brake ON, foot on brake. Now check it again in 2 minutes, add a tiny bit more is needed. When warm and fluid level good go for a drive. Normal easy drive for 10 minutes going through the gears. Should be smoother. If it is still crap then you will next but a gel pro gasket for the pan and a trans filter. Change filter and replace pan with gasket. Recommend gasket cause too easy to goober gasket seal in your tranny and mess it up. Ok, it your still not shifting good something internal is broken. If the auto trans light is on get the code. Sometimes they are specific to the problem and can save you a full tebuild that may not be necessary, not to mention not possibly as good as the original Assembly.
this is NOT BASED ON THE FORD FUSION. the first gen pre refresh fusion was based on the FIRST GEN MAZDA6. the mazda6 is 100% mazda, and it is a great car! this is a severely misinformed review, like most redline reviews.
I've got the 2011 v6 Mazda 6, but not the upper trim. I wanted the practicality and size of the car, and the power of the v6, without all the stupid electronic gizmos. If you can't back up without a camera, ride a bicycle! Also, regarding the v6 engine, it is actually shared with the same model years v6 mustang. Mine was assembled in Flat Rock, Michigan at the UAW plant that Mazda and ford were sharing at the time. Ford sells very few v6 mustangs, mostly v8s, and Mazda sold few v6 versions of the 6, mostly 4 bangers, so they shared the plant the year mine was built. The engines aren't exactly to the T the same, but it only required slight modifications that could be done on the line from, what I was told by the factory. And I love the flared front fenders, they share a similar look with the RX-8.

Its classy and sporty looking at the same time. It was unfortunate that Mazda didnt sell more. The 1st gen though sold pretty well.
I have a 2011 with close to 400k kms and runs just fine. I am considering getting a few upgrades to be done (paint, display, skirts) Nothing serious.! would love to hear any ideas you guys might have. This is my third Mazda, I also have the 2016 Mazda 6 and a 2017 CX9 Touring edition.

Dont want to be a little different think outside the box for once and not follow the herd? Actually be able to find your car in a parking lot for once. Drive w a little style. Maybe get a nice car compliment once in a while. W accords and camrys youll never get that since there are so many you are just another Me Too..

Man, 4 cylinders also got dual mufflers. Also all Grand Touring versions got navigation system (even it its 2.5L R4 engine). Too bad that this 3.7v6 is only in USA :( I would love to get one in Poland

I love this gen of 6! But it think it failed due to the rear looking bland with those tail lights. They should have gave us the clear euro spec versions. They look so much cleaner and make the car pop as a whole.

0:59 Bruh what are you talking about? The 1st gen has more space in the rear than any sedan I've stepped foot in. One of the reasons I even bought it. Can fit me at 5'11 comfortably with space left over, even with the front seat slid back all the way.

0:48 The Fusion is based off the 6, not the other way around. The four cylinder engines were from Mazda, the 6 cylinder ones from Ford. The third-gen Fusion uses a new platform from the European Mondeo though.
Maybe if they put the mazdaspeed 3's turbocharged motor in the next model mazda6 as an option maybe? I know it doesn't get the best gas mileage in the MS3 though... But maybe they can somehow improve it with taller gearing and direct injection? That is if it doesn't already have direct injection? I'm not sure.

i have a 2013 mazda 6 current miles is 46,322 already had to replace brakes , Ac compressor , all engine mounts, battery, still need to replace all recalls on it, air bags and passenger side dash cover, what a hunk of junk. im happy i got the car for free but i will never ever buy another mazda again.. ive had 4 mazdas in my life ,,,, toyota is the way to go..

My 2006 Mazda 3 S 5 speed is dated I just got into an accident recently time to upgrade. Not the Mazda3...but with my mom's Ford Focus I hadn't really got my Mazda3 fix I'm looking forward to a Mazda 6 2009 and up that has to have a V6 that's what I'm hoping for forget my Mazda3 5 speed I'll be changing my pictures soon
im planing to put this v6 or some other kind of mazda v6 engine to able to fit in 1980 626 for nice upgrade an none of that rotary just like all other old school mazdas. replace everything inside new and better ride but to keep the interior an exterior original as possible.
Most of the problems were caused by Mazda engineering such as the pre-cat issue that caused the motor to blow @45,000 miles. Ford Fusions with the same motor(3.0L) didn't have that issue because Ford used another type exhaust system. It was the Mazda engineering that killed my Mazda, not the Ford engineering surprisingly. That's why I'm wary of all the new tech in the new Mazdas such as the high compression ratios and complex transmissions but hopefully they have learned a few things since 2006.
The 1st Gen Mazda 6 V6 hatchback is the sexiest car that Mazda has designed behind the first gen RX-8. The 2nd gen Mazda 6 was a bust cuz the car got uglier; the GT sport model doesn't look nearly as aggressive and sharp as the first gen GT model. Also, the V6 became even less fuel efficient which is a huge deal breaker for family car shoppers and of course, the 4 cylinder barely even does the job. On top of that, they dropped the hatchback model.
Brandon Harrison lol Well, I've softened somewhat in my thoughts on that engine. It sounds much different in various cars, but at least it performs quite well. AND(!) unlike Honda/Acura/Audi/VW doesn't use a timing belt!
Ok then so U.S. spec looks alot different to the euro I prefer the euro but the u.s spec definitely has it better with the V6 and better looking headlights

This vehicle seems to feel a bit quicker than the old 2012 Accord V6, but the current model feels just as quick.
This model and your 2006 were built on a Ford sourced platform, the new 2014 model is now built in Japan on a strictly Mazda designed chassis.
My aunt and uncle have a 2009 i Touring model with every option, I love it, it drives nicely, and is quite comfortable. (:

I like the V6 and styling of this generation a lot. The new on is nice too, but I have no issues with this car, except the dated navigation system.
This is quite a nice car. It is much cheaper than the Accord, Camry, and Altima and is a lot more fun.
I really wish more Americans will get off the Camry and Accord tip. Especially the Camrys...

0:59 Bruh what are you talking about? The 1st gen has more space in the rear than any sedan I've stepped foot in. One of the reasons I even bought it. Can fit me at 5'11 comfortably with space left over, even with the front seat slid back all the way.
2:24 I’m surprise It has a feature where you just grab on the door handle and it’ll unlock automatically. My 2014 Mazda3 I would still have to push the button on the handle just to unlock it
0:48 The Fusion is based off the 6, not the other way around. The four cylinder engines were from Mazda, the 6 cylinder ones from Ford. The third-gen Fusion uses a new platform from the European Mondeo though.

Maybe if they put the mazdaspeed 3's turbocharged motor in the next model mazda6 as an option maybe? I know it doesn't get the best gas mileage in the MS3 though... But maybe they can somehow improve it with taller gearing and direct injection? That is if it doesn't already have direct injection? I'm not sure.

i have a 2013 mazda 6 current miles is 46,322 already had to replace brakes , Ac compressor , all engine mounts, battery, still need to replace all recalls on it, air bags and passenger side dash cover, what a hunk of junk. im happy i got the car for free but i will never ever buy another mazda again.. ive had 4 mazdas in my life ,,,, toyota is the way to go..

My 2006 Mazda 3 S 5 speed is dated I just got into an accident recently time to upgrade. Not the Mazda3...but with my mom's Ford Focus I hadn't really got my Mazda3 fix I'm looking forward to a Mazda 6 2009 and up that has to have a V6 that's what I'm hoping for forget my Mazda3 5 speed I'll be changing my pictures soon

im planing to put this v6 or some other kind of mazda v6 engine to able to fit in 1980 626 for nice upgrade an none of that rotary just like all other old school mazdas. replace everything inside new and better ride but to keep the interior an exterior original as possible.
The only thing I don't like about the 2014's are engine choices. They should atleast offer a Turbo four.

The 2014 is awesome
Most of the problems were caused by Mazda engineering such as the pre-cat issue that caused the motor to blow @45,000 miles. Ford Fusions with the same motor(3.0L) didn't have that issue because Ford used another type exhaust system. It was the Mazda engineering that killed my Mazda, not the Ford engineering surprisingly. That's why I'm wary of all the new tech in the new Mazdas such as the high compression ratios and complex transmissions but hopefully they have learned a few things since 2006.

The 1st Gen Mazda 6 V6 hatchback is the sexiest car that Mazda has designed behind the first gen RX-8. The 2nd gen Mazda 6 was a bust cuz the car got uglier; the GT sport model doesn't look nearly as aggressive and sharp as the first gen GT model. Also, the V6 became even less fuel efficient which is a huge deal breaker for family car shoppers and of course, the 4 cylinder barely even does the job. On top of that, they dropped the hatchback model.
Review of the genesis coupe 2.0T or 3.8, either will do!

Brandon Harrison lol Well, I've softened somewhat in my thoughts on that engine. It sounds much different in various cars, but at least it performs quite well. AND(!) unlike Honda/Acura/Audi/VW doesn't use a timing belt!
