  • Hey everyone, here's a quick review of the new for 2023 Billie Joe Armstrong Gibson Les Paul Junior. Billie is the guitar player from legendary band Green Day so lets see if this guitar only does punk/pop or can it do more?

What about compared to a standard gibson junior ebony?

I bought one of these, and I absolutely love it. It works for the music I play and simplicity is always a big thing for me. Just amp, reverb and maybe some Delay is all I need 90% of the time

All guitars are one trick pony’s. Every strat sounds like a strat and every LP sounds like an LP. And a Jr sounds like a junior.

      😂
Tell me what guitar Page or Beck used… as if anyone could tell without watching a video or Google.

Mine had static pops every time you touched it anywhere on the body, probably a grounding issue but also possibly to do with the paint. Also, the serial number and Made In USA were barely visible on back of the headstock, very strange. The action and setup were abysmal on my example, but that’s easily fixable. I had to send it back, it did sound great though.

And for only 2,200 bucks!.. 😉

A set up on a Jr is just adjusting the bridge. Maybe a tweekie tweek of the rod.

@@benlogan430 I’ve been setting up my guitars for years, I got it set up just fine (although the factory setup was still unacceptable, worse than most low end Epiphones). The guitar was not grounded correctly and the other issues were absurd for a $2200 guitar. I have and own many Gibsons, but the QC is still a joke until you get up to the custom shop stuff.

this may sound weird, but sometimes this can be fixed by wiping the pickguard with a dryer sheet

@@myrnabrean I do know that trick and actually tried it, but still awful static everywhere. It sounded great, but too many issues and had to send it back.
