Feel like he’d have a different personality, fairly sure passive is canonically dead, but my headcanon is more like he’s a prisoner in his own body, though, who’ve been like, asleepish for the past 500 years. Forever stuck in an endless loop of, ironically, nightmares. I mean, he didnt really have anything to fight for, believing dream dead when he turnend to stone.
Shaykai said something along the lines of that the loss of the corruption somehow brought their eye back, but I know they said this comic was the spawn of one of the dreams they had. They also have some doodles where this version of nightmare had a monicle and kept the smashed eye socket
