I really enjoy your dialoque you have during the process and so interesting and recognisable the various balances between abstract and figurative, a very nice place to be in a creativity process. My notes on your choice of materials: canvas or boards Ca 90x 120cm og ca 100x100 cm - R&F pigment sticks in sets opaque and transparent, medium cold wax, linseed Oil, gamsol gel …❤❤❤

Beautiful works Andrea 💜 i want to try using the r&f sticks, & as they’re quite pricey here in Australia.. wondering is there a set or a particular colour u could recommend to me (in ur opinion (ur favourite one or one you have gotten a lot of use from perhaps)) to start off with (I cant choose one colour 😅) Thank you kindly 🙏🏼

@@Trusid I’d get one opaque color that you love and one transparent one

Or the full opaque set and the full transparent one if you can swing it

But what if where you're going on your tangent is a much more original, exciting place than the precursor paintings? Surely it's better to run with your ideas while they're happening and then after the fact decide which direction you want most to go in. Which is stronger and more expressive or more uniquely you. If you're getting the urge to break away from your foundational series then perhaps that's a sign that the work you were previously doing just wasn't enough. In other words don't sit on a plateau until you've naturally arrived at one. You can't force so-called maturity. A creative life is a journey of discovery and it shouldn't be stifled by the need to emerge an identity as an artist in the art world.

@@JGalegria all of this is true and I’m suggesting that if you want to create a cohesive body of similar work, at one point committing to a direction is an important skill, especially for creative people. Work out new directions and ideas in sketchbooks and or studies so you don’t stamp them out. All of this business about working in a series is if you want to engage with the art world
