    I'll be canceling yearly subscription. I'm sure if Dan wants to send Zwift 30 pound a month they'll be happy to take his money!

    You're on a different planet Dan. £30 a month is a lot of money for a lot of people in these tough times. I've been subscribed to your channel for a long time but maybe It's not really for me? I'm so far removed from your world now it seems.

    It’s easy to say you’ll pay more when you’re paying only for you. In my household my daughter, my wife and I all ride Zwift. I have to pay for 3 memberships, so an increase of this magnitude hurts.

    • @TriathlonDan
      @TriathlonDan  28 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I appreciate this, we do have two Zwift accounts though so I'm not completely blind to how these costs affect people. If we didn't ride at the same time I'd just use the same account.

    My solution to keep the price the same: Subscribe for 2 months, cancel for 1 month in between. For that canceled month, I'll exclusively ride outside and explore free alternatives.

    Someone is after sponsorship 🤣.
    I tried it and didn’t see that it gave me anything that I didn’t already have but I can see it might be useful for those that need the social side. On the financial side…they are just trying to cover their massive expenses on marketing?

  • @lucgalarneau310
    @lucgalarneau310 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Value vs cost does not consider the customer needs. For me, even if Zwift was to come with a fabulous update, 4k real world experience and avatars, 100% riding physics accuracy etc., for 40$ / month, a very good value vs cost, I guess, that is not what I need for an indoor cycling app.

    • @TriathlonDan
      @TriathlonDan  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I guess it depends if you use Zwift for "training" or for the "immersive experience"?

    • @lucgalarneau310
      @lucgalarneau310 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@TriathlonDan Kind of the point. The fabulous update includes the best trainings, that goes without saying, so it does not depend on what you wanted to use Zwift for. What I am saying is that I was extremely satisfied with what Zwift offered, say 2 years ago; like many subscribers, and probably the most of them. If Zwift spends so much money to develop features that I won't use, or would only minimally increase my user experience, so that Zwift must increase its subscription fees, then its value vs cost will probably not satisfy my needs. I believe this is the case for most Zwift users because Zwift found success with minimal immersive experience, trainings, courses available, etc.

  • @andreaplaskitt2315

    I think the value Vs cost is a fair point.
    I think that the pricing compared to a gym membership isn't. A gym membership provides equipment venue etc where as zwift provides a platform but we forkout for our own equipment, and energy costs etc

  • @zagabog
    @zagabog 25 วันที่ผ่านมา

    I can live with the price increase, particularly it means Zwift will continue. It was a bit of a shock, but on reflection it is worth it. Hopefully the price can be managed better in the future, with smaller incremental rises as necessary rather than this price shock. It may mean that some sort of new rider discount will be required to grow membership though.

  • @square7935

    everyone who is on zwift must atleast have spend 1-2k+ meaning they can easily be able to afford it lmao

  • @philswift1180
    @philswift1180 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    If you are paying to go to the gym you get to use their equipment I.e you don't have a bike and a £1200.00 turbo trainer and a computer and somewhere to put in, do I need to carry on😂

    • @TriathlonDan
      @TriathlonDan  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Haha yes fair point! Perhaps an unfair comparison purely price wise, but I'd see going to a gym class as a hinderance over doing a workout exactly when I want to without travelling

    If you're using it every week it's still not bad value. Where they've screwed up is a huge price hike at once without a huge jump in quality. I'd already gone over to indie velo and have enjoyed it much more. When it does become a subscription I'll be paying.

    @ampgb223 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I agree Dan worth the money for me too, use it loads over the winter, less so in the summer and may suspend for that period. Price increase doesn't bother me but there will be a mass exodus and they should have done incremental increases instead of a 7 year hike, bad planning and hope it doesn't come and bite them in the arse.

  • @tefer1982
    @tefer1982 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I'll be quitting but probably more for the fact its summer. I loved racing and will see what the scene is like come winter time. If other options are available at a better price then i'll opt for that.
    Paid off a lot of staff before and now a price increase too, smells a bit desperate. You wouldn't mind so much but there isn't a massive amount of new stuff, they also shoot themselves in the foot by not shipping to some areas like Canada. The Zwift hub that was and now isn't. maybe needs a bit better direction, would be interesting to see the books and where the money goes.

    112hrs on zwift since 1st Nov says i am getting value for money like yourself. I get that its subjective on the cost of things but given the price of most things in the cycling hobby £18pm is tiny. The additional £5pm is not even one coffee & cake stop on an outdoor ride these days.
    First price rise since 2017 and with the recent improvements and new roads etc. If you took the 2017 price and applied a 5% rise in 2018 and each subsequent year since and including this year it would now be £17.52 so i think people need to see the bigger picture. I for one will keep supporting the platform year round.

    I think you shouldn't be comparing apples and oranges. Peloton would be a complete gym membership replacement given what it entails, Zwift is a one dimensional program for one purpose.
    Mywhoosh, a similar program, is set for massive updates and by fall and when everyone is back indoors, they'll have fully fledged 24-7 pacer bots and races going on (anti-cheating) and likely improved even more and at scale.

    I still think its good value for how much i use it. I pay more than that for my swim membership. I might actually get round to pausing it for summer, but pretty sure I'll be back in Autumn. I suspect a lot of the critics have at least £2000 bikes on their turbo's, its £5 at the of the day 🤷

    For the amount I use it, 17.99 is still great value. If the price had of gone up year on year we probably be about the same place or more. You may get an alternative elsewhere you won’t get the community of the clubs. Met so many people on the platform and in irl. I’ll continue to pay for Zwift as I feel it’s great value, probably need to double before I’d say it was getting pricey.

    I've been using Zwift since the start of lockdown, it's what got me back into cycling and a much better, healthier, slimmer, fitter version of myself.
    On the face of it, it seems like a massive rise in cost, but weighed up against no price rise for seven years, it's still great value. I certainly won't be leaving Zwift.
