We look at the time several times a day, either because we actually need to know the time, or because we can't help but admire our beautiful timepiece. Whereas the date is probably only consulted once a day. Also, this GMT watch without a date window, with the bare minimum, the time and the second hand, is magnificent. Thanks to your presentations, my wish list is growing..."Red Bar NZ" preferably.
Thanks for the nice presentation of this watch. It is a stunner I think. But I agree with you it looks much better on beads of rice or Artem strap. Not a bad price for what you get otherwise.
The more I see the more I like. I just received my Pulsatimer. Still packaged up and waiting for me to return home to unwrap. But it’s awesome to know the bracelets are interchangeable. Also, I have to say Robert and his team at Beaufort have the best customer service. Great guys and it’s an honor to do business with them.
I have a preference to having a date but ideally a day / date combination but I would never turn a remarkable piece if it had neither. Very nice piece and I would purchase the beads of rice bracelet. I have a penchant for bracelets. In my collection there is only one piece with a leather strap being a 1962 Bulova Spaceview. Cheers Peter.
Got to say mate, thoroughly enjoy your vids. Just getting better and better with each episode. Much like the kiwis and their Beaufort watches. They do alright.
Another example on how the Artem straps really add to a nice watch. The Beaufort looks very good, but at the same price range as Wise Adamascus GMT, the latter wins it for me. But a very nice looking timepiece.
I concur 100%. This is a very refined design and specs wise, wonderful for a GMT. I like it without the date window as there is a symmetry to it that the design would be ruined by it. Not really needed for a traveler's GMT either. But I would not buy this watch without the bracelet. Gorgeous with it. And yes, the green strap, took it to another level. If they do want to add a date, they should not use a window and instead add a date pointer to a 31 day chapter ring. There is just a silver ring there now not being utilized for any purpose.
Good looking watch. I really like the color. At that price point, you can afford to put whatever strap you want on it, but I agree the Artem is a perfect match.
This watch is beautiful! I wish the silver chapter ring was a bit smaller, the actual green portion of the dial and the hands were a bit bigger. Then it would've been perfect!
This watch is stunning. And no offense, when I see a new video from you, I just think to myself, “let’s watch Peter’s great review of a watch I can’t afford…” this one I actually can! 😅 And even as a “Date Only” guy, a traveler’s GMT with no date makes sense for me. Thanks again!
I just picked this up with the grey dial at the Windup Watch Show in New York City. USD$642 bought me the watch the beads of rice, the oyster style bracelet, a beautiful grey leather strap, and the tropic style rubber strap. Let the honeymoon begin!
Another brilliant watch Peter! Wearing my PK-Beaufort today to ‘watch’ this😉 Beaufort needs to follow your lead, ditch the TPU tropic and include a quality sailcloth for the price, BOR looks great. NO-date is practical as you described, I usually have to use a magnifier to change to current date these days, so simplicity is appreciated.
Hi Peter, the Miyota 9075 is an industry game changer. As to the watch, I mostly agree with you, but I think (together with others) that it would be improved by having a rotating bezel. Have a good weekend, Bob 🍻🍻🍻
Another enjoyable review. While I'd prefer a date on a traveller GMT (having used one as intended a couple of times), my bigger issue that Peter didn't mention is that seemingly pointless silver ring at the outer edge of the dial. It makes the green dial and hands look tiny, and creates the illusion of a thicker bezel. There are markers on it but they're not really useful. If they extended the green portion of the dial all the way to the edge and lengthened the hands to suit it would look amazing.
For whatever reason (I need no excuse) it made me think of the rather handsome Atlantic Heritage field watch in green. I really like that watch and it seems to fly completely under the radar, but the 42mm places it outside my scope. With the Beaufort, I'm afraid that for me that tall stance on the wrist is where it trips up. I don't think I'd enjoy how that wears. The face of the watch it very pretty for a smart looking toolish watch. I would prefer especially the minute hand to be more substantial and a smidge longer. I am with you on both the strap and the date. This is better on the Artem, potentially even better on the bracelet, and not quite right on the black rubber. The no date is great. I have no particular interest for now in a traveller's GMT, but if I had one, the way the date functions would probably bug me. So, they chose well here. The fixed bezel looks good, as does the decorative inner textured ring. That said, the downside is that this decoration creates a distance across which time reading needs to be bridged, even if the hour positions are essentially repeated. Interesting model.
Another micro brand find that we wouldn’t know about, thanks Pete. I thought it might look more balanced with a matching green aluminium bezel? The dial colour & finish look great but it seems to shrink with all the bright steel surrounding it. Just to my eye anyway. Great value for money though.
Nice watch. It's always nice to see a review outside of the usual fodder. However, I'm not looking for a new watch as I'm saving for a Roger Smith series 4, it may be some time. See you in 1000 years.
I can't distinguish that minute hand from the hour hand... and while I'm at it... also the GMT hand from that seconds hand. I know it's a video, but this also applies while checking the time at a glance. I like, when hands are polished and they evenly glow and pop out of the watch on their reflection. That is such a good effect. This brushing... you see one hand and other seems short because you only see the lume, not the whole reflection, the whole size of the hand. It's nice... also Artem strap. I mean, they are at the cost of a full bracelet, but yes... the idea is to put something green.
Very nice watch. Another new microbrand offering with a chapter ring that reminds me of the Polerouter. Was the date wheel removed or can you still feel the date change click?
Having no date on a GMT watch is a deal breaker for me, unfortunately 😕 i get the frustration of the date setting part, but I still prefer one with a date.
I would like to see more traveler gmt watches without a date. I do have a zelos with miyota 9075 and it’s so annoying setting the correct date with my OCD every time and i want to wear it after rotation. I tend to skip wearing the watch every time because of the date even though i miss wearing the watch. I don’t care about the date itself during the day. I just want to see the time on the wrist while moving from place to place even from country to country with different time zones.
The requirement for a date window is inversely proportional to the number of watches you own… 1 watch = date window happiness, 8 watches = less date window happiness. The only antidote to this would be a watch winder…
The strap is a huge letdown. It says to me, "hey, we had 8/10th of a watch design and we're fine with shipping it out 80% done." I was going to add the beads-bracelet, and then just as I was about to place my order, you said the dreaded words: doesn't have a date. Womp womp. Saved me $700.
Love the artem band on this piece... really pops the watch
Yep, me too 😊
Accually i agree with you about it having no date window, it doesnt need on.
An exceptional watch, in my opinon, at a good price.
Very nice watch and priced right. For me, i would add a beeds of rice bracelet. Thank you for sharing Pete. Be well my friend.
Beads, not beeds.
@mikeraiche5063 Thank you, sorry for the typo.
That green strap really accentuates the beauty of the watch!

A good looking watch and I prefer the no date aesthetic this time. I hope they sell well.
No complications is a bonus. ❤

Enjoy the pulsatimer 👍
That seems like a really nice package at that price, I agree the no date option is quite OK and adds to the aesthetic appeal of the dial

Very nice looking watch. I'm not too fussed about date windows on watches and I think this watch looks great without one ☺
Never heard of this brand before but this look fantastic. The strap you added really completes it.
Not normally a green watch fan, but this looks great (as does the red version). The watch really pops on the bracelet.
I saw the red yesterday...very cool 🔥
Good looking watch. Love that combination you chose with the green strap. Thank you, Sir.
Got to say mate, thoroughly enjoy your vids. Just getting better and better with each episode. Much like the kiwis and their Beaufort watches. They do alright.
That olive dial is beautiful.
I know..its very cool in the hand

Hahaha, sorry for some of the more expensive watches, I try to find a decent balance price wise 😊😂
@@PeterKotsa Nah Mate. You do you. I enjoy all the reviews!
Cool watch, love the colour. The hour and minute hands are too similar for a quick glance. Thanks for the introduction to this brand.
My pleasure

Great stuff 👍

@@PeterKotsa I neglected to mention what a very nice guy the owner, Robert, is.
The beads of rice bracelet makes it whole. Really a handsome combination. Unfortunately, my GMTs need a date function to be complete.

I suppose at this price we can easily ditch the TPU and place it on any strap we want 👍

great looking tool watch 😊👍

Was about to buy this. But a date and a rotating bezel are things i need. I find mysekf returning to them 90% of the time.

Never even thought about that, a nice green bezel would have worked here too 👍
The Longines Zulu Time doesn't have a date ...and I just got a great price for the blue on leather, for £1650 GBP. From an AD.
God i love Quartz watches, a lot less needy. X
Except it's not quartz.

In practice the handset works so I didn’t pick on it too much, although I would have loved a broader set myself as I mentioned 👍
Very nice watch. Another new microbrand offering with a chapter ring that reminds me of the Polerouter. Was the date wheel removed or can you still feel the date change click?
I cant feel any clicks for a date change, only the clicks for the hour hand moving
Date is a must. A little more difference in sizing between the minute and hour hand would be nice.
I think so too...and a tad broader possibly
Wow this looks beautiful! I'm very interested! Is this brand EU based?
no, New Zealand
@@unnamedhero5111Damn, that's a shame. Import duties are crazy.

I’ve been feeling the same way lately with many of my watches
Watch those thumbnail typos Peter! 😂
You know I leave a small cookie here and there occasionally to see if anyone can find it..😂
All sorted 😊👍
Nice watch, but I prefer it if the hands are a tad wider and maybe a wee bit longer. Other than that it works. Very manly and good looking watch.
Me too, slightly broader handset would have been nice, as long as it didn't detract from the design symmetry 👍
The requirement for a date window is inversely proportional to the number of watches you own… 1 watch = date window happiness, 8 watches = less date window happiness. The only antidote to this would be a watch winder…
Funny, Peter! I was watching, thinking, “those dimensions belie the height of the watch just to look at it.” Then you roll into your niggles…
😂
So sad, that it has only 100 m of water resistanz 😢.
First!

Beautiful, but a true GMT without date is like a car with powerful engine and no wheels.
Vroom vroom and no burnouts?...hahaha
