Still went for the iPhone 13 Pro Max. Need that extra battery life and screen size for gaming and media consumption. And it helps for easier two handed typing. Once you go Max you don’t go back in my case.
@@jjakkad It's Apple. Same as not bringing Night Mode to all lenses of older phones before. They count on customer loyalty to get the new phone, and obviously this works.
Um... neither. Still waiting for the Pixel 6 to come out before I choose between the Pixel 6 Pro or the iPhone 13 Pro Max. The lens flare/ghosting on the iPhone 13 Pro Max is horrible. I suspect clustering the three lenses tightly together is compounding the issue. Would be interesting if Google had the sense for this when they designed the Pixel 6, and purposely chose to put the cameras spaced out in a row versus a tight cluster. We shall see... #flaregate
I went with 13PM because I sold my 12PM for a very good price but 13 PM still has reflection issues which is to an extent disappointing. But purely from camera perspective I’m fully into videos that too 1080p 60fps which in 13 PM even smoother with zoom in and zoom out using zoom slider. If you are a 12PM user wait till 14 is out, 12PM already is a great phone
Seems like the 13 Pro/Max really want that contrast that the Pixel was known for. Only thing I don't like is the over saturation in some of the photos, but that night mode is amazing.
Danny... thanks for the best 12 Pro/13 Pro Camera comparison I've seen so far - and even better, from right here in Winter Garden! Just trying to decide which to upgrade to from my XR. Definitely can appreciate the deeper contrast with the 13 Pro, but not sure yet if its reduced noise is actually desirable. Almost seems like the smoothing effect is a bit excessive at times, especially at night. One thing I'd appreciate seeing in a future iteration if you get around to it would be the 0.5 ultra wide angle video in low light. Seems everyone accepts that the ultra wide introduces a ton of grain and undesirable artifacting (at least it does on my wife's 12 Mini), but very curious if the 13 Pro has anything to reduce the undesirable effects. So far, I'm still on the fence between the 2 models compared here. Looking forward to more! And I'll be keeping an eye out around town to see if I maybe run into you! Great job on this!
Because they changed up all the lenses/sensors at once compared to the previous one. The fact that the real world results may be similar wasn't a point to them
13 pro is what I chose . I see no reason to Carry such a huge phone when the standard sized pro offers great battery life already and the features are the same as the pro max . Thank you apple for making features the same
52mm or 65mm field of view is better for portraits in my opinion, otherwise it's hard to get everything in the frame. For example Canon M50 + 32mm f/1.4. They simply could have increased the megapixel count of the 65mm camera, if they wanted a higher angular resolution. Then a 77mm crop would have nearly no disadvantage. The 65mm camera even has a slightly larger effective aperture diameter than the 77mm camera (3.41mm vs 3.21mm), which leads to 12.5% more light per time from an object (and 3.21mm is barely better than the 52mm camera, which has 3.0mm). A 77mm camera also has less depth data than a 52mm camera because the depth data is calculated by using a 77mm crop of the 26mm camera. So I guess they chose 77mm due to marketing reasons or maybe in order to sell a 65mm + more megapixels solution next year. The only advantage of the 77mm camera would be 44% more light from distant objects than the 65mm camera in good(!) light conditions.
The difference between the 12 pro and 13 pro cameras don’t seem like much of a differences at all. The improvements are so small you have to really look for it.. I did upgrade from a iPhone XS.

Upgraded to the 13 Pro Max from the 12 Pro Max, I can definitely notice a difference in low light. The Ultrawide is a big step up as well and I'm very happy with battery life.
The problem is that most of us seeing the picture comparison with subpar or smaller screens does not give it justice. My experience with the newer iPhone 13 Pro from the older iPhone 12 Pro taking night time per photos makes crazy difference. I have chosen pets because you have to make time sensitive photos which is the case for any of us shooting indoor photos of events, hence I am extremely happy. But that’s the comparison between close generations but any generations before it, you would be crazy not to see the massive difference
Nice video. Anyone trying to justify going from an iPhone 12 Pro to a 13 pro is really just clutching at straws. I have a 12 pro max. I won’t upgrade now until at least 15 and that’s if it offers something that is a genuine improvement.
AMAZING video. iPhone 13 battery test shows a marked improvement on a weak spot of the previous generation. Also iPhone 13 Pro has a noticeably smoother screen than the 12 Pro. Once you experience a 120Hz display, it's hard to go back to a 60Hz one.
10:00 Apple is beating around the bush. Making minor improvements in every new iphone, but ignoring the elephant in the room: the lens flare, which is by far the worst of any smartphone. Since portrait mode in FaceTime for the 12 pros works on the front/back camera fairly well . Does that mean we could gain some sort of portrait video mode in the further on the 12 pros?
I doubt that, even XS has portrait in FaceTime. Also, since the camera didn’t change that much in many scenarios they would never destroy the selling point of the 13.
The problem with 10x is that you need 5x in the middle between the main camera to have a consistent change, otherwise you will see a massive blurry pictures between 3-9x and having 4 camera means an significant design and cost change. And really, no one really uses the 10x in the Samsung, based on reviews I have heard.
Yea that sucks, apple should move on from those tiny lame 12mp sensors tbh, they should go to periscope lens that allows 10x optical and 100x digital for the next generation, also a 48mp ultrawide would be decent, OnePlus and Samsung killed it this year with their fantastic ultrawides.

The photos are nearly identical. The only difference is the contract and saturation levels on the 13 Pro.
