"Wanna hear the most annoying sound in the world?" Fun Fact: When Harry and Lloyd are in the car, Lloyd (Jim Carrey) asks if Harry wants to hear the most annoying sound in the world. This was not originally in the script (you can tell by the look on Jeff Daniels' face). Bonus Fact: Jeff Daniels claimed he was at a golf course one day when Clint Eastwood told him that he had just seen the movie. Daniels braced himself for a negative reaction, but to his surprise Eastwood wanted to tell Daniels that the bathroom scene had happened to him once when he was on a date. Daniels later co-starred with Eastwood in Blood Work (2002).
I laughed the hardest during the fantasy fight scene as well. That was Jim Carrey unleashed. He just does these crazy and absurd things with his face and body that is pure comic genius.
Remember watching this in school around 2007 had the whole class laughing. Ace Ventura and the Mask are two other great movies with Mask being my personal favourite. The Mask was a four issue comic series published in 1991 so the film was pretty much based around the comic.
Fun fact: the character of "Sea Bass" is played in a glorious cameo by Boston Bruins legend, and Hall of Famer, Cam Neely. He had trouble with his "acting surprised" in the bathroom so, after several failed takes, on the next take he opened the door to see Jim Carrey actually mooning him. So the look of surprise on his face is absolutely genuine. :)
Bk in 97-98 when I seen this movie on cable, I was high on weed, and seeing this movie the 1st time had me laughing so hard... The bird and the restaurant and the toilet scene was the funniest to me...
The year that I went to my senior prom, there were two other guys who went in the orange and blue suits that Harry and Lloyd had on, including the hat.

My buddy and I use this exchange from the movie whenever we catch up for beers: "How was your day?" "Not bad, I fell off the jetway again." Such a classic movie.
When that guy they throw the salt at from the restaurant confronts Harry in the restroom at the gas station, there is a deleted scene where that whole bathroom scene gets real creepy if you decide to look it up. And I am not overstating creepy.

Fun Fact: Originally, Lloyd and Harry were supposed to get on the bus with the fine bikini women at the ending. Jim Carrey felt that it would be out of character (due to their stupidity) and convinced the directors to change it to the ending you just watched. lol

My father was not the type of guy who laughed a lot in his life. He was a Vietnam vet, who was a quiet guy who always had a semi angry look on his face. But my sister showed him the snowball fight scene where Jeff Daniels smacked her in the face with the snowball full force, and that was the first, and one of the very few times I saw my father crack up laughing.😂😂

We actually looked at a rental at the same apartment that Lloyd and Harry lived in. It was in Salt Lake City. The apartment was horrible! It looked exactly like the movie depicted it as all but the worm farm. This is our family movie. We quote this more than any other movie ever made. Thanks for the review!
As many others have recommended more Jim Carrey movies, I will instead gush of my love of road trip movies. It's just a goldmine of comedy as the characters travel. Pit stops, getting lost, car trouble, police stops, etc. Dumb & Dumber hits them all. For a travel comedy set in Europe - the hilarious and underatted Euro Trip.
Yeah, I know all about how to flush a toilet with a bucket of water. Comes from growing up in a house with a busted up old water pump that was constantly breaking down and a very cheap father who wouldn't spring for a new one. So we were always having to go to my grandparents house down the road to fill his truck with barrels of water until he could get one of his buddies to repair the pump just enough to get it running a couple more months.

If you enjoy Jim Carrey, you should be able to find “Rubberface” on TH-cam. It was his first appearance ever at age 19. It’s a CBC production from Canada, so it’s kind of fun. He actually plays a person rather than a character, but you can still see the goofy impressionist there. It’s only about an hour long, but it’s well worth your time.
I really loved this movie as a kid. I found the antics of Jim Carey's Lloyd and Jeff Daniels's Harry to be so entertaining. Of course, their childishness appealed to a young teenager like me. Today, I do not look on this film as fondly as I once did, but I do appreciate the overall story more. Mostly because I can understand it better, and I still appreciate the absurdity of it all.
I saw this in the theater with my cousin. My family is from Germany and even though they speak very good English, a lot of the slang they didn't get. So I spent most of the movie doing live translation, missing several parts.

If you want more comedies from Peter and Bobby Farrelly the directors try 1998's "There's Something About Mary" with Ben Stiller and 2000's "Me, Myself & Irene" also with Jim Carrey.
I think maybe the stamp it stamp it or double stamp may possibly be some sort of library book reference?..for marbles we used to run out to the marble hole at recess and whoever got there first and said the words "rule maker, rule breaker, stamp it, stamp it, no erasing, god's blood, black magic" was the one who had to approve or disallow certain aspects of the game like cupsies or had to shoot backwards between legs or something..guys trying to use cupsies when they're a foot away from the hole..denied!..

Screwball comedy was known mostly for zany antics and throughout the 30's I also think of the 3 Stooges, Jerry Lewis films, and movies like Airplane and Naked Gunn. Scary Movie and other spoof type of films are that way
The farrelly brothers who directed this movie are really good. And so is Jim Carrey. You should probably check out some of Kevin Smith's movies. Like mallrats or dogma
When I went to marry my fiance in the Philippines, I was surprised to find her toilet was just a bowl. No tank. They kept a bucket of water next to it with a scoop to shovel the water over until it flushed.

Excellent reaction, I was laughing right along with you, even though I've seen this movie a few dozen times over the years. I've been watching reaction channels for 2 years now, reliving all my favorite movies through other people's eyes. There are a few dozen top rated movies which have NEVER been reacted to yet (I sell movies for a living, going on 20 years now). Here's 3 highly rated, excellent movies that no one else has done yet.... THE HUSTLER (1961) with Paul Newman, has a 96% rating, and its sequel THE COLOR OF MONEY (1986) also with Paul Newman, has an 83% rating.... both movies together are excellent. And the one movie with a 100% rating I believe you will love is a Disney movie called NEVER CRY WOLF. I think I've suggested that movie previously. Personally, I'm hoping to see some movies no one else has done before, which are worth a reaction.
doing their little game of tag reminded me of the 2018 movie "TAG" this one is very funny to watch about a group of friends playing tag as kids all the way up until they're grown ups and if I remember correctly I believe it's based on a true story, hilarious movie
Considering they get the better of each other in turn (Sea Bass spits in his burger/Harry knocks out Sea Bass in the toilet), I would guess that it's a friendly attitude. And Daniels seems like a chill guy.

Nearly every character he played on In Living Color was just Jim Carrey moving his face in an unusual way. One of the great rubber-faced comedians.

The toilet scene...Actor Jeff Daniel's tells a Clint Eastwood story. Daniel's did a film with Eastwood and Eastwood told him he saw Dumb and Dumber and Eastwood said,the toilet scene happened to him in real life.

If you enjoy Jim Carrey, you should be able to find “Rubberface” on TH-cam. It was his first appearance ever at age 19. It’s a CBC production from Canada, so it’s kind of fun. He actually plays a person rather than a character, but you can still see the goofy impressionist there. It’s only about an hour long, but it’s well worth your time.
Me and my brother still enjoy watching this movie even until now....

I really loved this movie as a kid. I found the antics of Jim Carey's Lloyd and Jeff Daniels's Harry to be so entertaining. Of course, their childishness appealed to a young teenager like me. Today, I do not look on this film as fondly as I once did, but I do appreciate the overall story more. Mostly because I can understand it better, and I still appreciate the absurdity of it all.
I saw this in the theater with my cousin. My family is from Germany and even though they speak very good English, a lot of the slang they didn't get. So I spent most of the movie doing live translation, missing several parts.

I think maybe the stamp it stamp it or double stamp may possibly be some sort of library book reference?..for marbles we used to run out to the marble hole at recess and whoever got there first and said the words "rule maker, rule breaker, stamp it, stamp it, no erasing, god's blood, black magic" was the one who had to approve or disallow certain aspects of the game like cupsies or had to shoot backwards between legs or something..guys trying to use cupsies when they're a foot away from the hole..denied!..

Screwball comedy was known mostly for zany antics and throughout the 30's I also think of the 3 Stooges, Jerry Lewis films, and movies like Airplane and Naked Gunn. Scary Movie and other spoof type of films are that way

If you like this one I think you would love "Dumb and Dumber To." And yes it is spelled like to. The sequel is just as funny as the first

Excellent reaction, I was laughing right along with you, even though I've seen this movie a few dozen times over the years. I've been watching reaction channels for 2 years now, reliving all my favorite movies through other people's eyes. There are a few dozen top rated movies which have NEVER been reacted to yet (I sell movies for a living, going on 20 years now). Here's 3 highly rated, excellent movies that no one else has done yet.... THE HUSTLER (1961) with Paul Newman, has a 96% rating, and its sequel THE COLOR OF MONEY (1986) also with Paul Newman, has an 83% rating.... both movies together are excellent. And the one movie with a 100% rating I believe you will love is a Disney movie called NEVER CRY WOLF. I think I've suggested that movie previously. Personally, I'm hoping to see some movies no one else has done before, which are worth a reaction.

doing their little game of tag reminded me of the 2018 movie "TAG" this one is very funny to watch about a group of friends playing tag as kids all the way up until they're grown ups and if I remember correctly I believe it's based on a true story, hilarious movie
