A beautiful touching birth journey. 🥲 it brought tears of rememberance and joy. Thank you for inviting us to share it with you. Congratulations on your gorgeous daughter . ❤
Makes me proud of our birthing system here in nz - we aren’t taught to be afraid of natural childbirth either. I notice from my American friends that there is seems like the whole process there is totally medicalised and seen as a medical procedure rather than a medically supported process
Seeing you embrace Māori culture is so special, especially as an indigenous person, watching you take the time to learn our language, our karakia, our traditions is heart-warming and I cannot thank you enough for sharing this with the world! Congratulations on everything, Eliana is going to have the most wonderful life and I hope you all get an abundance of peaches off of her tree! Arohanui Hannah K xxx
Congrats! This video was so sweet, thank you both for sharing such a beautiful story. There was a high-pitched ringing throughout that made the video really hard for me to watch :( just wasn't sure if you knew or not!
Congratulations Carrie!! 💗 Welcome sweet Eliana! She is so beautiful and so fortunate to have such loving parents! Thank you for sharing her birth story!
Carrie I am so proud of you! You have been such a comfort person to watch. i've been following you since your old apartment in Silver Lake! Ive seen your relationship with Alex flourish, the marriage, the move, and now a baby! It feels like im watching my distant cousin live her dream. Its beautiful to see, thank you for sharing!
I've loved following along to your journey! I saw you get married, move to New Zealand, buy a house and now follow along to your pregnancy story. At times our stories have overlapped, we were both buying a home at the same time and going through the frustrations of trying to find THE one. I've also since got married and we hope to in the next few years to also expand our family and experience this wonderful journey. Thank you for sharing your story and letting us follow along! Also huge congratulations and welcome to the world Eliana, couldn't imagine a better place to bring up kids than New Zealand! Wishing you and your family all the best, Love Eneli x
Wow this is so special. It’s so cool knowing other people are going through such similar experiences at the same time. Thanks for being here and commenting. It means a lot to hear from you. Thank you! 💕
My baby was born on the 20th of Feb, so your story brings back the memories (my baby is 25yrs now lol) but it’s funny I still remember lots. It’s wonderful that we can have dads, friends and family there, back in the day my dad wasn’t allowed to be there when I was born, he was on the back of the farm! Huge congratulations to you both, enjoy all the little moments, they grow so fast
Cried from happiness and awe a couple times here! Congratulations! I’ve been following you two for years and have to say how happy I am for you both. Carrie, your videos about this journey have been so beautiful, organic, and informative, and I really appreciate them as I also approach trying to write this chapter of my own life. Wishing you three (!!!) the absolute best ❤️
Motherhood looks beautiful on you ❤ I’m so glad you had such a lovely birth experience. I had a very traumatic and scary birth experience and this gives me hope that maybe my next experience will be better. Thank you for sharing. It is so important to shine a light on positive birth experiences
Carrie, Eliana and Alex thank you for sharing this beautiful process. Our birth stories are really similar and watching this video while my now 6 month old first baby (our little girl Micaiah which means “Who is like God?”) is making me really teary it’s so beautiful and reminds me of the amazing experience I had too🤎
FREAKING OUT!!!!!!!!!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤Thank you for including us on your journey. You will be the best parents. So much love and happiness for your little family. Totally not tearing up.
This brings back so many memories of my daughters birth! Going all in with no expectations & truly surredering to the magic of the unknown. Thanks for sharing your story. You all are such beautiful people i am so happy for you. The ongoing seasons & cycles of life are such a blessing when you are connected! 🙏 ❤🌱
Congratulations! Thank you for sharing your beautiful story. The moment your baby is born is the most miraculous moment of your life. I cried for you and for the memories of when my 3 babies were born many years ago. God Bless you and your precious baby girl.
Thank you so much for being such a positive, loving, presence in the world. You are, and always have been, one of my biggest personal, and career inspirations. All the love to you all, and so happy all are well and safe and loved!
Congratulations 🎉🎈🎊 I got so emotional 🥲 it reminded when my daughter gave birth. I’m a grandma of a 2 adorable little kids a boy and girl and seeing my daughter go through her babies births was very emotional and special to me. ❤🙏🏻
So, so beautiful! Thank you for sharing! My little girl is due April 11th and my dream is to have an unmedicated labor/birth, while also using the birthing tub for pain management. There have been some hiccups recently, though, due to blood pressure concerns and they are monitoring me closely for potential preeclampsia. Of course, this diagnosis could change my birth plan quite a bit, as I would need to be induced. Thank you for the reminder to have an open-mind and be flexible- because in the end, all that matters is momma and baby are safe and healthy. I'm trying to create my birth plan around different scenarios but still incorporating things that are important to me to make each scenario feel special, regardless. Welcome to motherhood/parenthood! It's a wild ride but it truly gives your life that much more adventure & purpose.
Congrats! I have LOVED seeing all of this blossom! I've been following Alex (and his brother), from the beginning, you and him getting married, moving to New Zealand, and now becoming parents! Thank you for sharing your birth story!
Carrie, congratulations! I am really looking forward to seeing this video. But there is this loud squeaky noise in the background - is there something you can do about it?
What an emotional video - you both had me in tears at the end watching the ceremony you had as a family of three now🥹🪴🩷 You look so full of love for your baby Carrie, and Eliana looks so healthy and beautiful - you are all wonderful human beings and I wish you all the best of God’s blessings as you come into this new chapter of life. What a beautiful gift was for you and Alex to find each other, but what a greater gift has been to watch you both become Eliana’s parents. Un abrazo desde Texas!🙏🏼👶🏻🩷✨
I am so happy for you and Alex! I have followed you for *years* and I even remember when you first introduced Alex to the channel! It’s honestly been such an honor to follow your journey!
Congratulations!!! What a beautiful experience, thank you for sharing with us ! I’m 15 weeks pregnant and loved listening to your labour and delivery story !! Welcome Eliana !
So much about this is what I hope and dream for, when my time comes to give life. Alex seems like such a calm and positive being. As well as yourself Carrie, which is why I’ve loved watching you over the years. I’m also so drawn to New Zealand so watching this life you’re living is true inspiration. I look forward to seeing your journey as parents🤍
I’ve been following for a while and your videos made me cry happy tears before (and are honestly such a safespace) but this video made me cry a few times because you guys are just so pure and loving. Thank you for sharing your story and show to believe and trust in yourself and your body. Lots of love 💜
Such beautiful words spoken of your birth story! Love that the meaning of her name is woven all throughout your story! What a sweet ceremony at the end to celebrate! ❤🎉
THANK YOU SO MUCH for sharing about your experience because I feel like your mindset is exactly what I've been feeling surrounding my own future experience in giving birth. it's been so lovely seeing you share your feelings and thoughts throughout this whole journey and I can see how much being a mother means to you and it makes my heart so happy that you're finally getting to experience it
Thank you for sharing your story. It is so important for all mothers and future mothers out there ♥️ Congratulations on the birth of your baby girl Carrie & Alex!
I'm fascinated by every māmā's birth story. It's amazing what we all go through. I was induced with both my boys (1 was born the day before Eliana in 2023 🥰) with both labours being 80+ hours. I was so sleep deprived and delirious. First labour the epidural didn't work and the 2nd labour it worked and I fell asleep straight away and woke up 3 hours later needing to push. No matter what pain I experienced, the moment those boys were placed in my arms, the world stood still and my heart grew ten fold. Motherhood is the best journey ever and you and Alex are amazing parents already. Planting the placenta is such a beautiful lasting memory of birthing your girl. I'm so excited to witness this new chapter of yours, the best one yet 🩷
Just beautiful, huge congratulations to you both. I just loved the way you have so wholeheartedly embraced our and now your NZ culture by returning Eliana's whenua back to papatuanuku on your beautiful homestead. Very special
Thank you for sharing the birth story ❤ to zion was playing as she gave birth!!? - definitely the perfect song and what are the odds - wow 😊 congrats to you both
My son is 10 months old and I am so so emotional watching this (not in a negativ way) as I am remembering so much! So happy for you and your little rainbowbaby Eliana❤
What a beautiful name for your baby girl and a beautiful meaning. I planted my placenta at my midwife’s farm here in Hawaii under a coconut tree and I just love that it we can always go visit her farm where we planted it.
Soo thrilled for y’all 🥹 it’s just the best experience of your life isn’t it? We had our son back in November - similar birth story to yours where I ended up needing the epidural for rest. So proud of our bodies!!
Wow, how has the time flown by? I’ve been on and off social media for about a year. I’ve followed your guys journey ever since you moved. What blessings and changes that can happen within a year. Welcome to the world little precious gal❤
Congratulations Carrie and Alex, and welcome Eliana! Such a beautiful birth story, and I completely agree that having an open mind with your birth plan is so important. I had a similar experience while pushing - my doctor mentioned that if we hadn’t seen progress in the next hour, we would need to start talking about using a vacuum. I got my daughter’s head out with the next contraction 😆 Thank you for the tip about the tens machine! I’m 21 weeks with my second now and was considering getting one. Your experience confirmed for me that it’s worth trying!!!
I am a Grandmother now to 3 boys. I just loved listening to your Birth story and your Baby s name is just beautiful. CONGRATULATIONS to you all God Bless you all
What an incredible team you guys are! So wonderful to follow your journey from pregnancy to birth of your beautiful daughter, congratulations!!!💜 If you have time and energy I would love your answers to these NZ related questions: Did you choose your own midwife and hospital or was she/the hospital automatically selected for you based on where you live? And finally, do you have any recommendations to find birth courses like the one you attended? Would very much appreciate your answers💕
this whole experience has been so beautiful to witness and i am so happy you're both sitting in presence with this new life you've nurtured into the world! I found my self reflecting on the past 5 years watching you grow and evolve individually and as a couple and now as a family♥ I am moved by your vulnerability, strength and openness Carrie! It has inspired me deeply. You will both blossom beautifully as parents. Welcome to the world, Eliana🌬🦋
Congratulations!! Beautiful story, I love that there will be a tree to grow along with Eliana's future. So happy for the both of you, lots of love to give Eliana.
Don’t know when or if I will ever have children but when that time comes….Lauren Hill will be played in the room. Loved that and your birth story. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for adding the Maori elements to this beautiful birthing story. It meant a lot to me, with Aotearoa being my birth land. Blessings to your new family... Eliana and its meaning a very auspicious name for her. Love to you all. 🌸
Congratulations ❤🎉 and welcome to the world Eliana!Thank you for sharing your birth story :) ive followed your channel for many years, and I'm currently 37 weeks pregnant ❤ You cannot imagine how much it helps and means to me to see your process and your birth story before my baby girl arrives earthside. Lots of love and cuddles your way from Switzerland ❤
Congratulations to your baby girl, she is looking exactly like my dauther looked like. I had even the same duration and hours, the intensity of contractions went down towards the end and she was pushed out by the nurse (she pushed on my belly with elbow to help me). It was all in all positive. Stay strong during the first year and enjoy the beautiful girl, the time with newborn flies by ❤
Thank you for this video. I’ve watched you and Alex separately and then together so that’s a long time! So happy you got the epidural. I know you’ll be wonderful parents. Let’s have another one soon! ❤❤❤
Congratulations, Carrie and Alex! ❤️ Your birth story is absolutely beautiful and thank you for sharing it with us 🌸 I’ve always felt that you have such a beautiful, present energy, Carrie, and I’m so happy you got the birth experience you wanted ❤️
Such a beautiful story time 🥹 Congratulations 💗💗💗 Reminded me of last year when I had my first baby 💓 Can’t wait for future videos of your little family!
My kids were born between 1986-1992 and i so wish i had all these choices to support my labour but alas thats not how they did it in NZ back then,,...just on my back or all fours and in a cold sterile hospital room. However the nurses were amazing! I did have a midwife for my 1992 baby so this was early stages of midwives taking over from GP doctors! Congratulations guys!
I’ve been waiting and waiting to hear from one of you to post some birthing story and it’s finally here. What a beautiful name you’ve chosen with beautiful definition of what her name means.Alex, great job coaching! Carrie, super Mamma! Well done team!!!! she’s so pretty!!! Alex, you serenading her and Carrie was beautiful. Glad you’re giving us the opportunity to see your. Beautiful Eliana’s face. Some TH-camrs prefer not to show the baby, but I’m glad you chose to. you’re going to make excellent parents just by all the love that is surrounding both of you and your new bundle of joy. God has been watching over all three of you!! oh my gosh, I love the ritual that you did with the Placenta , the tree and the prayer. are you planning on having any baptismal ceremonies? Looking forward to many more videos from the both of you! Congratulations to all three of you !!!ciao, for now, your friends from California, 🐞🇮🇹Vita Maria and Chuck.
Awww congratulations! I am so happy for you! My sister had her 1st baby a day after you and she did a home birth in a birthing pool! What a blessing and a beautiful moment you captured! ❤sending all the love! Thanks for sharing!
just a tip, i dont know about other states but in arizona they have an amazing practice called moms docs midwives. i would highly recommend it for anyone! this should be more accessible for everyone. i had the best experience.
So perfect, congratulations, best wishes I loved learning about the placenta tradition. So powerful I'm pregnant so I especially enjoy watching these videos.❤❤
Congrats :) It's nice to hear a positive birth story and one where you were flexible. I am due in about 5 weeks, and I have a birth plan but I know I need to keep things flexible. It's nice and makes sense that the midwife you have during your pregnancy is also there with you at the birth. Here in the UK you have a midwife assigned, but when you go to hospital they won't be there with you....
Thanks for sharing such a heartwarming, personal and positive birth experience, Carrie and Alex! A massive congratulations to you both and welcome to the world Eliana ❤ Wishing you all good health and warm blessings for a life full of love together as a family!
Thank you all for being a part of this journey. We love you!
A beautiful touching birth journey. 🥲 it brought tears of rememberance and joy. Thank you for inviting us to share it with you. Congratulations on your gorgeous daughter . ❤

just a tip, i dont know about other states but in arizona they have an amazing practice called moms docs midwives. i would highly recommend it for anyone! this should be more accessible for everyone. i had the best experience.
Beautiful! Thank you for sharing. Would love to hear about postpartum recovery etc too! Also, the zucchini bread recipe please! 🫶🏻✨
Congratulations both she’s beautiful I’m a Pisces too March.
So perfect, congratulations, best wishes
I loved learning about the placenta tradition.
This is a beautiful journey for the three of you, and I'm so happy for you!
Absolutely inspiring! Loved the ceremony at the end ❤
