Sabalenka's ability to recover after bad first sets is really something. She got some flak for being weak mentally earlier in her career but she just never seems to believe that a match is lost until it's over and it's admirable.
I think it was her screaming earlier on in her career for which she received criticism. Leaving behind her shrieks on court, she definitely has become a formidable player on her own terms as you have rightly pointed out. Earlier even I used to be a Sabalenka hater, but she's definitely proven me wrong after winning that Australian title.
So nice to see Aryna back in action. It's only been 3 wks since the AO and I already missed her sublime tennis. Ostapenko was extra motivated as the defending champion so this beat down is a major statement from Sabalenka that she's the real deal!
Ostapenko really needs to work on her attitude in defeat. If Pierre Bacchi would have followed the rules and called the lines according to the rules, then Ostapenko would have won this match. Only in the first set umpire according to the rules called the lines.

It really depends on the surface. On slow HC and clay, Iga is unbeatable except once by Krejcikova. But on grass and fast HC she has been beaten by these players in the past 12 months: Ostapenko, Cornet, Garcia(clay), Haddad-Maia, Keys, Sabalenka, Rybakina(twice), Pegula. The Dubai court is medium, but Doha last week was really slow.
