The very first skit on the very first show was Carvey as Clinton with nipples all over his body feeding dogs. Sponsors saw that, and withdrew immediate support, and basically left ABC no choice but to axe it. It was a hilarious sketch show, but the start was sooooo bad it didn't recover.
The fact that that show didn't last STILL baffles me 20 years later.
Wrong time slot, it was on right after Home Improvement. Probably would have been more of a success if it was in the late night time slot.
