Kyoko Tabe, japanese pianist. The youngest winner of Whole Japan Music Competition in1984,gradueted at the top of the school and postgraduate course of the Berlin University of Arts. While in college,, won the 1st.prize in Epinal International Piano Competition and Schnabel Piano Competition. Her discography covers Schubert,Brahms, Beethoven and Mendelssohn. Several TH-cam Videos. I love especially her Schubert and Brahms.
Great music, fully alive! sometimes tender, sometimes soothing, clear like water, playful as small children, loving, full of color, a real ode to piano music. Thank you to Takashi and Kyoko. Thanks also to the publisher and TH-cam!!!!
Really amazing! It reminds me very much of Bartók's Mikrokosmos. Bartók's harmonies use much more dissonance though. This is like Bartók but a bit more accessible. There's some really beautiful pieces in here though.
A Japanese pianist friend gave this to me on minidisc, which i lost some years ago when the label fell off. So glad to have found it again! Really beautiful and evocative of Japan (or at least it is for me!) Thanks.

I am immersed in pleasure while listening to this comfortable music . From Tokyo in the dizzying megalopolis ablaze with neon Which national are you watching this video ?
I think Yoshimatsu has successfully imparted a distinct flavor of space and universe thanks to the time signatures with top numerals of prime numbers (5, 7, 11...)
amazing. the moment i saw ixis' question, i thought - hey, that looks like paul jenkins. what is ur connection to that artist? i discovered his work in France in th 80's. he is not super famous (i wonder if he's still alive) but has a recognizable style (obviously) :) i'm also a big fan of takashi yoshimatsu. cheers.

Ben Adams: Thank you very much! I love the CD in this posting, having discovered it in a record shop and first asked the shop owner to play it on his hifi system. It took me a few minutes, then I bought it. Another customer wanted to buy it immediately after me. Never knew about a spin off recording.

Takashi Yoshimatsu has a way with the piano. Very enjoyable.
That's music of high aesthetics. Real pleasure. And great playing, also.

Very interesting music. There is something I like very much about Japanese musicians.

The painter is Paul Jenkins

Its title is "Phenomena Sun over the Hour Glass" painted in 1966.
Pregunta ociosa. Lo que el espectador siente; ése es el sentido.

The first movement is quite reminiscent of the first movement of Yoshimatsu's work for Guitar, Water Color Scalor.
This video makes me hungry. Fancy music always goes great with anime.
