me and my bestfriend saw a shooting star after i broke up with my boyfriend, i loved him truly. After we broke up i met the boy i call my bestfriend and we would bike around town all night during the summer. The last time me and him hung out we stopped to look at the stars in a field when we saw the star.a couple days after he committed and that was the last time i saw him. I was 14 and when i turned 18 his father gave me a letter he wrote me before he died. In the letter he said when we saw that star he wished for me to be happy and that he’d always loved me, i’m 19 now and everytime i see a shooting star it reminds me of him, like the star is his way of saying everything will turn out okay.

Me and my friend were walking home one time we both started talking about how we've never seen a shooting star an as we looked to the sky this really bright shooting star went right over our heads.

On the night of August 12-13, I saw 62 meteors in four hours. Such a satisfying experience.
I saw about 6, no light pollution and all, the Perseids were weaker this year. But I saw about 17 geminids in the short amount of time we got away from the clouds

I have seen more than 62 in one hour many times. And they are not flying rocks they are ufos. That is why u will never see them going straight downward unless they are landing or crash landing. They are always travelling sideways and away.

I've seen a comet go by me and my cousin around 3am we just so happened to be walking back to my house. The entire sky turned to daylight for about 2 seconds. Absolutely insane.

When I was a kid, my mom took my out to a field and we saw many shooting stars. At that time, I didn’t think much of them, only as what they were. Nothing but rocks that looked pretty cool…
But just today, I was packing up my telescope and looked up at the stars one more time. I looked up just in time as I saw a meteor with a yellow tail cross for only a second. Even though I’ve seen one before, it was so beautiful that in that moment, I dropped everything I was holding and stood there in awe. Life, for a moment, didn’t feel real. My hands and feet felt light, and as if they weren’t there. My heart soared with joy, and I didn’t wanna leave, feeling as if it may come back again…
I witnessed my first ever shooting star yesterday(aug 5th 2023 @ 3am), I got goosebumps, I knew shooting stars were amazing but witnessing them is a whole other level of amazement, it kinda reminded me of tinker bell and her pixie dust lol, it was truly magical, I hope everyone can witness at least one shooting star in their life♥I also love how almost all the comments are about stories of each person's experience🥹

I live in Aguascalientes Mexico and was driving home late one night a few weeks ago and I actually saw a meteorite. I was outside the city and it was very dark. The meteorite plunged straight down in front of me and hit the ground miles away out in the desert. It was one of the most dramatic things I've ever seen.
Pick up the rock(meteorite) that fell in that area and sell it.

I have seen a green trail what I thought was a shooting star only for it to do a 90° turn & go back the way it came! Was the coolest thing I've seen above my house!
When you see stuff like that, it's actually the meteor quite literally bouncing off the atmosphere! If the meteors hit at just the right angle, from our perspective they can appear to change direction sharply. The green trail indicates that the meteor was most likely made mostly of nickel

Ok I've never seen this before in my life, there's not a single place in Singapore I know of where lights aren't installed. Is this video in real time? Is it sped up? Can you see it with your naked eyes?
This is really close to what you can see with your eyes. It isn't speed up, there is also no post processing. Straight out of camera footage.

@@FreshSmog even if they are visible they happen so fast you think you just imagined a flash of light darting in the sky, so dont worry about not seeing this stuff with your naked eye even if you go to a low light pollution area

...not a lot, because they disintegrated in atmosphere, so their molecules have since scattered all over the place and most likely drifted as dust down to the planet's surface.

I see this so many times, and a couple that I see are very bright and last long before they dissappear
I was night jogging in the middle of the night for fun and I usually always look down or ahead and for some reason I got this feeling to look up as I did I saw this long bright beautiful shooting star and made a wish.
I went to Alberta this summer and oh my god i literally never knew we could see the satellite moving with our own eyes + there were so many shooting stars in the span of an hour. We even got lucky enough to see the Aurora borealis :)
I’ve been camping for a week and the sky was painted with a display of breathtaking stars ( one of the most beautiful sights I’ve ever seen). Due to light pollution in most urban areas, shooting stars are Rare, but this experience was amazing. For the first time in my life I saw satellites 🛰, shooting stars/ meteors 💫, and many fantastic constellations such as the saucepan etc. If you haven’t been camping already, I highly recommend that you take the time to go when you have the chance, it’s a great way to escape from towns and cities and to be surrounded by the wonders of the world 🌍 ✨
Truly it's very beautiful,The look of sky at night is mesmerizing in rural areas which is very rare in urban areas. Lot of shooting stars are frequently visible due to less pollution 🙂
i’m from singapore and it is a very dense urban city. sadly idt there is anywhere on this island where i can escape to to see a real starry night but i just saw a shooting star today when i was downstairs buying snacks. i can’t stop thinking abt it ever since and came to this video haha. i forgot to make a wish on the first shooting star i’ve ever seen in my 18 years of living (i was too shocked) so i hope i can see another someday and wish upon it :)
Egypt Nov 2001. I was walking back to my hotel room and a meteor was so bright, so thick, like a light saber, horizontally it shot left to right for about 2 seconds. I had to stop in shock at how terrifyingly beautiful it was, and even more so that possibly no one else on the planet saw it.

Well one they aren’t stars, theyre small rocks, the probabilities of it happening are very low just cause of the sheer size of space, doesn’t mean it hasn’t happened.

I’ve met people that have said they never seen one! I must of seen thousands here in Australia. From slow burning ones to ones that shoot from high to the horizon in a millisecond. Also seen full showers where there’s constant rain of meteorites for hours. You just got to watch the sky on clear nights away from light pollution.

Was smoking a J in my garden whilst looking up into the sky. Saw a burning trail light up for a split second. Wasn't sure if it was a flare or i just imagined it.

I get to see a shooting star for first time. The thing that left me stunned was to see how fast that thing traveled
Back in 2015, on the last week of high school. Me & a couple buddies drove up to a lake that was about an hour & a half away, it was about midnight once we finally get there, me & the other 2 decide to go put the boat on the water while the others stayed inside the camber. It was me & one other in the boat while the other backed it in. A few seconds later my friend in the boat goes “look, shooting star” I look at the shooting star & all you can see and is a huge rock on fire crumbling into pieces, we look back at each other in shock & look back at the meteor & it’s still going for a few extra seconds before it finally just disappears. That was probably one of the craziest things I’ve witnessed. I’ve seen him a few times after t that & I always bring that up
It was about 2 am in late July 2020 and the power went out. Me and 2 of my brothers decided to go outside to see why the power went out, and we could hear riots and crashes miles away. But we noticed that there were a lot more stars in the sky than usual and could definitely tell where the milky way was. (we live in a pretty big metro area so it was pretty faint) My 2 brothers were looking at a different direction and i chose to look at the opposite side, and i saw my first ever shooting star, it was really bright but didn't light up the sky that much. My brothers didn't believe me though

I just saw a beautiful meteor light(a magnificent bright dotted line). It was going on very slowly and travelled in a curve for about 45 seconds and then disappeared slowly. Made my day.

I wanted to speak up on my experience seeing shooting stars, i remember 2023 i would wake up every morning at 3 am to go to work, cause i had to be there at 6am had no car but i had a scooter which i would walk with for 2 hrs cause the battery lasted about an hr and i was going through a life crisis i guess and i remember every morning i would see a shooting star and when i didn’t it was cloudy and there were times in the morning where i would look up to a specific spot in the sky where there would always be a shooting star, it came down to having to see maybe 2 in one day in less than an hr, btw i always made a wish and the last time i saw one i asked the universe to see another and this time ill just admire and not make a wish and what i saw was the most mesmerizing shooting star in the world that, it looked like it came from another city and flew across the sky like it waited patiently for me to look up i then realize at that moment that those forces god the universe whatever it is you believe in is always listening and is always with us and knows us like a true friend

i was driving home one night from a friends house and i saw something glowing in the sky so i look up and i saw a meteor coming down and it broke into parts and lit up the sky, my jaw was dropped the whole way home and i cant stop thinking about it still it was so cool to watch

I looooove seeing shooting stars when my suis dk and his mum and I just last saw the aurora in Thief River Falls Minnesota about 1 1/2 months ago it was right above us and like a K9 at our location... there was a beautifulllll shooting star!!! I've only ever caught two shooting stars when I've photographed the aurora and one looks soooooo cool it's one of my pride and joy pics 🤦🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️🖤

my boyfriend and i stayed at joshua tree a few weeks ago for a little hiking trip getaway. I fell asleep and woke up at 3am to find my boyfriend completely awake. he was having a hard time falling asleep. I asked him if he wanted to go stargazing outside. We laid in the hammock together with the harm breeze and the absolute silence of the desert. We looked up at the most beautiful night sky full of stars. I was filled with peace and awe- I love him more than I've ever loved anyone. And it was such a special moment in my life. It was just so simple and pure. Anyways- I hope others get to experience a magical moment under the stars too

i was out with my dog 20 minutes ago. its storming in the far and just started to rain. i was almost home and a few meters by my door i just stood there to look at the big and bright moon today. there's just something fascinating about it. i always look. i was watching it, and just beside it i saw a fast moving light, i thought its an airplane, but what kind of airplane is that fast? it looked like it burned away in the air, just like fireworks moments before it explodes. a few seconds later i realized what it was and i couldn't believe it. i have never believed in shooting stars and there it was. my eyes teared up, and i made my wish and i hope i wasn't too late.

Shooting stars reminds us there is a god. What a privilege to witness
It's a few years back, I was little, I visited my grandpa's village, lights went out during the night, we took the beds out, it was cool winter time, not too cold, just, the perfect temp, the leaves were hustling, the wind was, heaven like, we placed the beds in the huge garden space, it's hilariously huge, there are big, grown, neem, guava and apple trees, I lied down with my father, staring straight up at the sky, the stars were all visible, and then, all of a sudden I saw a streak, I remember rubbing my eyes thinking what just happened 😂, I opened them, saw another one shortly after, I was excited, scared, I knew what a shooting star was obviously, but never thought that'd I'd see one, I asked dad about it, grabbing his head and turning it towards the sky, and we both watched one together, I asked him that was it real, he said yes, and we both saw many countless shooting stars till we fell asleep.

Sun, June 12th 2022.
I remember seeing this bright red shooting star that spanned the entirety of the sky of Oahu. I was walking by myself uphill in a valley and I was enjoying the view and this gorgeous star shined the entire valley, mind you this eas 2 maybe 3 in the morning where no one was up and I remember thinking my day was gonna start "meh" and I gotta say the heat the light rumbling in my body as it flew over left an impression that I should not be negative in my time here.
Also I was in Vegas at a car show and everyone went quiet and I looked up and saw a cluster of debress in the sky lighting up I was scared but skeptical at the same time but was so beautiful. I've witnessed many meteorites /showers at the most random of times its scary or a message lol

I always thought the stars where dead people. I actually still believe in my younger me saying that. And watching my dead grandpa being a beautiful star!! Love you grandpa

Was just sitting in my garden at about 12:30 and in the corner of my eye whilst listening to music I see a huge shooting star but it’s not the first time I’ve seen so many I’m starting to believe it’s some kind of sign
we might be the last generation to see a shooting star live. i can't even see stars when i look at the sky anymore
