Thank you for all the love and support on this video already. Just goes to show that no matter the age of a game... if there is passion then a community shall rise. My content mainly focuses on PSO and retro games/RPGS so if you enjoyed please consider leaving a LIKE Rating & Subscribe if you are new here as I'm really trying to grow this little corner of the internet.
I have similar feelings about this game. I first started playing PSO a couple of months ago. I haven't played this game as a kid so there is no nostalgia factor for me. But still, something about it that really clicked for me. I love the early 2000 aesthetics and the music. I love the simplicity in it's grinding routine. From the early stages of the game, you get a feeling that the path ahead of you is very clear and straight forward. And most of all I love the community, I 've met some REALLY special people through this game. Some higher level players have even given me meseta and rare items for no apparent reason at all. Just pure kindness! The world needs more of this.
😂😂😂 I feel the same exact way but for PSU Joining the Clementine server made me realize how much it was ahead of its time. From staying up to 4am to hunting a eternal psychodrive(upgraded PsychoWand). Finally get it to drop a 100 runs later then the mods increased the rdr lol now everyone on psu is in the weapon grinding stage. Breaking weapons left and right. If you 10/10 certain weapons, you are basically rich. Not wealthy, but rich lol. The game is very addictive especially getting back into it after a decade
It happened the same to me, I really loved this game back in the gamecube era and just came back to it and I'm completely hooked up on it. Good luck in your hunts!
Fellow HUCast! Nothing will top the endorphin rush from getting my SJS. Except after unsealing it and using the TJS for the first time. It felt special.
The thing about Ephinea is I believe they aimed to create the experience we never got on the official servers, at least on the console releases. Coming from the Dreamcast and GameCube versions, Ephinea is like this idyllic where I don't have to worry about people coming in to my open game and NOLing my character or people hacking items into the game. Perhaps Ephinea is closer to the official Blue Burst experience, though I have no real experience with that.
Honestly, the more I look at the level cap, the more I think SEGA didn't really intend or care if people actually reached that level cap, It's more of a acheivement to say "I've been playing this game for a very long time, look how cool I am!"
ive played many servers but i didnt log onto ephenia until a few weeks ago. the event was a smash hit with me, the 2x exp rate made me able to stomach vanilla leveling because i dont think ive played 1x exp since xbox. ive played ultima and destiny and though id give vanilla a try. man it was crazy to see so many players logged in. i had a fantastic time. i found a hit heaven striker and a max evp red ring. probably the best red ring of my career lmao and i only did like 3 ttfs then entire event. worst part was finding red ring at lv 120 and not being able to equip it until 180. but it gave me reason to grind. all and all i made a lv 200 ramarl, lv 160 ramar and lv 155 foney. my only gripe about the server is people dont talk that much, but that was maybe because of the event rush. everyone was spamming games as fast as they could. now that the event has ended tho im not really itching to log back in. rip. good server tho, i can see why people mostly play here. no pay to win, vanilla weapons work well, and the game is fun. like you can make a really decent ranger with just 50 hit zerk arms and 50 hit zerk vulcs and a frozen shooter
Heck yes! I remember playing PSO for GameCube with family on a split screen. I remember wanting to hook it up to go online but I didn't have Internet at the time so I could hook it up(including needing an adapter if I remember correctly).
PSO perfected the grinding game. 1. Linear and very lengthy character progression (Leveling / MAGs), 2. Insanely rare drops that make you wake up the neighbors with your yelling. Only Diablo 2 comes close, imo
Same here. There is something with PSO. Spent a lot of time on it when I was a kid, but only offline since I couldn't have the stuff needed for online play. Tried BB a few years back, but had some compatiblity issues. Then I drowned in PSO2, which was the greatest online gaming experience of my life, for 1000+ hours, until they killed the game with NGS. I recently decided to redo a 100% run ( with cheat codes to gain time ) on the original PSO Plus game on my modded Gamecube, and decided that I wanted to discover Episode 4 ( which I never did ) by doing Blue Burst afterwards. And I started grinding in BB, and I just can't let go. I'm already 150 and my Build is almost done. But in the meantime, I stopped writing on my book, I stopped my gaming marathons, I'm late on a lot of over games and personal stuff ... It's almost frightening lol. The online experience for PSO is just another world. It's undescribible. And the PSO community is a friggin god send. EVERY PLAYER I have played with has been positive, fun, reactive, open minded. Players have given me so much powerful equips and weapons for free, helping me out in the grind, it's so amazing. I'll do my best to give some of that help back when I can. PSO is a miracle, and I am so happy that BB is still alive and kicking, even if there's only like around 300 players on Ephinea. Sega really created something amazing there.
glad this video popped up on my feed you sold me on trying out this game. i miss phantasy star online 2 before the genisis update i hope this scratches the itch i missed from PSO2. nice vid 😀
I have tried so hard on multiple occasions to get into PSO2 & NGS but they are just leagues away from their roots. I really can't get on board with the new direction and that's such a shame. But whilst PSO BB is still around and playable i'm satisfied. Still dabble is PSU from time to time.
I wasted so much time on pso as a kid. great game. Got my double saber, and the mag I wanted, soon after some mmo got my attention cant remember, maybe DAOC or WOW
@@deployablelover oh! i actually do play there its just been years, my humar is lv 198 also got jsword i could install it back up and see how things are again, based on your experience atm things are still great! Matt runs it really well

oh man there are so many things we take for granted these days and playing online is definitely one of them! What a throwback

I agree this simple but yet addictive gameplay loop had me in a chokehold for years!

Best private server I've ever seen.

I do too..... the countless hours i spent farming Anga Phandaj for 13 weapons..... those days are long since gone....

23 YEARS Babeh~!!!
Absolutely loved PSO. Closest thing to it these days is probably Monster Hunter World, which is also happen to love.
phantasy star iv is my fav game of all time
so glad to see so much love for PSO!
Would you do another PSO lets play?
I actually was thinking about this the other day!
There was a secret sauce that SEGA had during that time, this game was forged by the Gods
This was a nice video. 👌
Thanks for commenting! That’s kind of you!
PSO and Guild Wars 1 are the only games that managed to do the bare minimum required to be proper games worth playing
I wasted so much time on pso as a kid. great game. Got my double saber, and the mag I wanted, soon after some mmo got my attention cant remember, maybe DAOC or WOW
Trust me... time on PSO is not a waste ever! The sheer memories this game has given me is insane in itself
Awesome 💯
i still play on my gamecube solo ;; no one wants to play with me!
If you have access to a PC please give Ephinea PSO a go. It feels like home ❤️
