@@deadgoodwalks Hey Dan I just bought a thing called ENENCE - it translates languages. I bought it because I want to learn German. But say you're in Italy - you pick Italian as the language - You speak into the small device - ask your question and it plays back your question in that language - then the Italian speaks- then it plays what was said into English. It's 70 percent off now. It's just a thought -- it's small & fits into a pocket. I thought since you travel alot it might come in handy. If you're interested in it I can provide more info- if you're not interested in it I won't mention it again. Stay safe & I'll pop your video here back on. That tall 'thing' with the colourful flags on it and what you stated to say made me laugh-- yeah it does look like 'one'ha, ha!
I really enjoy this film thank you for sharing. Such an amazing place but far too busy. I like a quiet place. Hope you didn't get ill with that frozen food, eek Xx
I’m with you! No speaking before coffee! Always been a rule in my house! You were lucky if you got a wave before coffee!! 😂🤣😂 Always ask local or watch where the locals go to eat!!! The History is absolutely amazing!!! Beautiful architecture!!! As usual another Exceptional Episode!!! Stay Safe!!! 🪬🧿♥️✨☠️🪦♥️☕️♥️🪦☠️✨♥️🧿🪬
Hi Dan. That was super bizarre at times. I couldn't go down those narrow walk ways with people everywhere, sellers getting in your face, other walks were narrower still. Mad! The churches were very ornate, although I couldn't quite tell if they were for private prayer or just anyone who happened to drop in. You are hilarious to walk around with. Your opinions had me laughing probably when I shouldn't have. Thanks for taking us about. Hope you are safe. ♥️☘️
Wow, Naples is wonderful!! A few years ago i was at Rom and it was amazing. But Naples is as beautiful as Rom!! The churches are amazing and those nice gifts- and souvenir shops!! Now i feel like i am in Italy once again!! Thank you and Merry Christmas!! 🙋♀️
Yes you should Youre really entertaining I went to Naples once-best thing to me was pizza I did love Italy And now at 70 And living in the us miss europe been with u since u began and u have gnta great channel
I thought the first church was beautiful but the second one is just out of this world. Love the pizza the church vlad is buried looks like a big gimmick . Thank you for doing these videos Dan. Can't wait till the next one
Dan, much is written about how safe/unsafe Naples is. What conclusion did you come to about the place ? Your easygoing but thoughtful style is a refreshing change from the “travelogue”.
Hey Dan! I’m loving this type of content as much as your traditional graveyard exploits. It’s nice to see your handsome face to go with your soothing voice. Brilliant job! I look forward to seeing more of this type of content as it really does go along well with your other posts. I’ve been a subscriber for quite a while now and I always enjoy seeing your videos. I hope you feel better after the nasty lasagna, I bet that even Garfield the cat wouldn’t eat it, and he eats nearly everything. Unusual funerary practices like that which I have never seen! Thanks for the tour. You should think about giving away postcards to audience members. They are some of the best souvenirs and most affordable. Again, thanks so much for!
Nice to hear that Lora thank you, I'm hoping do more videos like it as I really enjoy it. Good idea, I did grab a few postcards in Rome, I wish I bought them in Naples so I didn't have to carry them around all week ha. Thanks for watching
🇺🇸 I like visiting huge churches in Italy and Germany. 😆 and yes that's what my first impression, too! Merry Christmas! Very nice walk experience for a change. Thanks
You never disappoint! I quite enjoy seeing you face! I follow a metal detectorist in Germany where I lived for 4 years (husband was in the Army for 20+ years). He never shows his face! so when I subscribed to your channel, I figured it was a common thing. But face or no face, I truly do enjoy your channel and look forward to your videos every week!
What a fab video! Thanks for taking us round Naples with you, I've really enjoyed watching. Me and my travel buddy stayed in Naples for a couple of nights when we went to Italy a few years ago, before our day in Herculaneum and Pompeii. We found it was a mix of lovely, clean areas and some really mucky parts. There was a really nice little restaurant near our digs and a chocolate shop across the alley from the building we stayed at (they were dirt cheap and really good chocolates - if we'd known that in advance we'd have bought loads more) and there were little family shrines in glassed niches up and down the alley. We didn't get to see all that much of Naples itself though, so your vlog has more than made up for that for me. Thinking about your rubbish lasagne, we had the worst ever pizzas just over the road from the entry to Herculaneum. They were on the pre-made bases that can probably be bulk-bought for not much money and taste more like you're trying to eat a piece of cardboard. I hope you soon felt better after your run-in with the lasagne.
Good job Dan! I’ve watched your videos for several years now! It’s nice to see you are a real person! Happy Hollidays to you & yours ….ps…keep walking! ❤😎✌🏼
Omg, they know how to build churches there. Absolutely stunning especially that first one. Can't help but wonder what treasures were destroyed in the bombings. We do tend to think of the loss of life (and rightly so!), but the history that was destroyed, l is tragic! Glad you are surviving, especially on a diet of frozen lasagne and espresso xxx take care xxx
Dan, Thank you for the great video tour of Naples. Nice to see you in front of the camera. It was like we were walking with you in the streets. The mixed content of churches and crypts was excellent. Did you ever find your Halloween Napoli shirt? 10/10.
Dan, awesome video. These are great. Having been to Europe many times, including Italy, you made it feel like l was there. One thing about the churches is all the statues and the people that pray to them, usually a particular Saint. I can't help but think of the second commandment, "You shall not make any idols to worship" Go figure 😂 l wonder if the priests even read the Bible? 😂
Hi Dan. Are there many happy people in Naples? No one seems to smile much. Good on you for your down vote on that cafe that wanted to charge extra to sit outside. I think I would prefer the countryside of Italy if I were ever to visit. Having been to Japan three times I am spoilt for cleanliness and pleasant people. But, that's just me. The churches were quite beautiful there. So many wonderful craftsmen in those times. One of the skulls at the end on the cornice looked like an alien skull around 30:28.
Beautiful churches. Very interesting about the burial site with the listening skull. I can't get over frozen lasagna, in Napoli yet 😩 that's just not right lol!
I spent over an hr useing my mag glass to see the beautiful churches & the glass cases & pictures of the last church - very interesting. The bird eating - the little hand made statues of folks - ect. -- the tiny cup of strong coffee & many empty chairs-- You would think that if they just LET people sit for free maybe they would have more folks spending time & money there...and serving frozen pasta just warmed in a microwave -- Gross! The skull with the 'ears' story was really interesting and abit spooky. Thank you so much for letting tag along. They don't sell postcards?😊
@deadgoodwalks Maybe their 'chairs' should be roped off & put in a museum. Ha, ha! My oldest postcard is of President Grant & family & friends at some mine in Virginia City, Nevada dated October 28, 1879. I have two postcards (they're the same house but different) of Lola Montel's house, Grass Valley, CA. They look like regular shiny regular pictures - not your normal paper postcards, they've never been written on. I wonder if her house still stands. Anyway I'm glad you got some postcards- makes nice memories. And if you ever try seeing Alcatraz in California DON'T eat fish esp. or anything at Fisherman's Wharf across from where you get the boat to go to the Island -- I know from experience. Stay safe! 🙏
Hi from Italy! Have u seen Palermo 's catacombs (cripta dei Cappuccini)? Over 6000 bodies including the "sleeping beauty" child. No photography allowed (in theory)

I enjoyed this kind of video of yours and your cemetery walks. Please do show the architecture of the churches as well. It's all interesting!
Omg Dan, you must keep these coming. You're a funny person. Loving the historical places. Naples is beautiful. Top job 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Thanks Kev, I'll try. Definitely more fun that going around a cemetery :)

Such an informative video and hearing about Napales’ burial practices. Many thanks.
