I've had mine since January of this year. Only been on the road for a couple of weeks and I'm still working on it. That's half the fun is tinkering with it. It's a 1971 Cooper S, RHD, black with a Norwegian flag painted on the roof. I've done a ton of work to it. Most of it has been a joy. If I'm not on two wheels I'm in the Mini (when it's working 😆). Getting it completely sorted out for the summer here in the PNW Seattle Washington area. Cheers 👍😎🇺🇸
The first time I saw a Mini Minor was in about 1962. It was the only car in the street which wasn't black. That made it really stand out, and I fell in love with its looks immediately. I never owned one, but my wife did before we met. Settled for several Metro's instead, finishing the line with a Rover 111, which we drove for 16 years. The later ones still had something of the Mini about them, but were much more comfortable to drive and travel in. The modern BMW Mini has really lost the plot, and is about twice the size of a real Mini, with none of the charm.
A simple seat extension solves the issue with your feet position. I had similar issues, my foot in an awkward angle hurt my shins, but this was fixed after fitting seat extenders. I'm about 6ft
That was the first thing I made for mine. Took about an hour including paint. Only to ride them for under $20 from a supplier. Definitely a nice easy or cheap upgrade.👍 😎🇺🇸
Trivia..the distributor placed at the front behind the grill was prone to the rain so we would get a marigold rubber glove remove the tips, place the 4 HT leads and the coil lead through and hey presto a waterproof dizzy..great upload Gentlemen.
A great vlog with a nice "modern" Mini; see if you can get hold of one of the original 848cc versions and compare, bearing in mind why this car was made in the first place. Cheers.
You can feel every bump & camber because it's in contact with the road better than many a "modern" car. You won't have been anywhere near its limit, but if you did manage it, it'd be more capable than you at getting you out of trouble.
Best car for country lanes!

Great video this was and a mini on a long trip is always good fun it’s part of the challenge, I’m driving mine from Oxford to Ben Nevis this summer
Nice video. You perfectly describe what it’s like to drive and own one of these on a nice sunny day. I wouldn’t swap mine for anything.
Couldn't agree more!

Nice video guys, the classic mini is certainly an iconic car, I own a fast road/track day classic mini 👍
Thinking of prepping the elf like that! Want something a bit sharper…
Great video guys, try a moggy 1000 next !
