Manson has such an interesting place in music. Art is a reflection of life, and let's face it, it isn't always pretty. I have never thought that Manson's music was really glorifying some of the sometimes (or often) unpleasant subject matter of the songs themselves. There are some ugly things, but that are always presented in a very honest way. He always has a great band.

And it hurts really deep to see that some christians fall for it and actually like this stuff.
Yeah Manson has been so worth rediscovering, I dropped out with Golden Age because I was being stupid (was 17). I came back around the time of Born Villan. He's going to have something amazing if its like Black Ribbons - the Shooter album - except more subtle, Year Zero for Manson, so basically with sincerity not aimed since Holywood.
You have alot of catching up to do. Alot of great shit he has done. And putting out sick shit still sounding great. Check out the new tune "we are chaos" . A bit mellow but amazing!
Aside from the excellence of Manson, I have to give kudos to the bagpipes in the background.... and what's done in the dark will be brought to the light...
Note: The song comes from '46. Redo's started in '47. It originally says "he put one head apon my head, good god almighty let me tell you what he said" Johnny was the first one, I think, to have change it to "Johnny do my will" to fit his needs. But I love Johnny's version the best. Gaslight Anthem does a good version too... Odetta & Elvis were my least favs I think...

Yeah he's one of the most brilliant music artists ever. An example: Go back and watch his music video for Man That You Fear and then right after go watch God's Gonna Cut You Down. Just keep in mind how much time passed between those songs but they complete the whole story and show the actual ending. Marilyn Manson isn't satanic, he doesn't even believe in the devil but he was brilliant pointing out all the hypocrisy in churches, Christians, ect.
This man put on the some of the best live shows I’ve ever seen and I’m old as fuck he’s not a singer he’s an entertainer. Say what you want, but he’s on par with the King.
@@hwfq34fajw9foiffawdiufhuaiwfhw The truth doesn't need to be funny. This is like if I were to do a tribute to Johnny Cash at my house. I should have loyal enough friends to prevent me from ever making that monstrosity public. Apparently Marilyn doesn't have those kind of friends.
Marilyn manson is without a doubt one of the greatest rock musicians of the 21st century and 20th century. He's amazing and his words are not in vain . He acknowledges the Alpha and Omega. He is a wise man.
To be honest, Manson went down the current path that he's in because of the hatred he had for people and their hypocrisy. In "Disposable Teens" Manson said, "I never really hated the one true G-d, but the god of the People I hated." So, Manson doesn't have problems with Jes-s. He has an issue with the religiosity and hypocrisy seen in religious people as well as people of the world who don't believe in the One True G-d Yahweh. So, deep in his sin, Manson decided to make certain types of music to drag people into further darkness as well as employ satanic imagery to tick off religious zealots. There's layers to Manson's psychology and spiritual condition, but it's truly sad. He knows that what he's doing is evil and he knows that he's not on the right path. Apart of him is aware of this. And so he sets himself on fire while lighting the world on fire because people refuse to believe the Truth (Jes-s) and so be saved. Marilyn's mindset is more along the lines of, "Atheists refuse to believe the Truth and so make their own gods which I hate, and religious people fail to live up to their own standards. Here I am f'ed up in this world full of sin and I can't make it any better. So I'll drag people into further darkness hoping that someone can understand my pain." It's really sad. Kind of reminds me of Pain. Somewhat, except that Pain sought to descend the world into a global w-r and unleash physical destruction and misery upon the Earth just so people can understand and feel his pain.
This is one of my favorite songs he's ever done. Looks like he's lost some weight and is looking so great. I always had such respect for how intelligent and artistic this seemingly very kind man is.

For those that don't realize it. Manson actually covered this song some years ago, but there was no video. This was still a very pleasant surprise though! Just like hearing it for the first time
I wonder how I missed it, I'm guessing it was like his cover of 'Cry Little Sister' and was sold separately from an album because I never heard it, oh well better late than never, now I'll have to Google what band he is covering because I have no clue who originally made it.

Glad he said “John”. Way to pay tribute.
Funny, the dude who wrote was named Chris.

@U♋Y nice try but incorrect
In "Disposable Teens" Manson said, "I never really hated the one true G-d, but the god of the People I hated."
So, Manson doesn't have problems with Jes-s.
So I'll drag people into further darkness hoping that someone can understand my pain."
It's really sad.
