Why I love Warhammer so much. "Battle Wizards" is a ridiculous concept, but it makes so much sense 😂. The Empire having guns while everyone else has swords will never not be iconic
I absolutely despise how much of the fantasy genre avoids (or downplays) firearms like the plague (despite the fact that knights and firearms existed at the same time in our own world). They're such a fantastic world building element due to their nature as an accessible force multiplier, and their presence and usage (or lack thereof) in a given place tells you a lot about the societies and peoples present there.
This gives off the air that they were resting, were just woken up by an ambush and are preparing for a last stand. But I felt like there was something missing from it, which hampered its appearance. It took me a while to figure out but it was missing a cool base. With just a standard base it feels like bare bones even if the models are solid.
They look really nice. I'm tempted to pick them up and use them as part of my Venators gang in Necromunda, or as part of an Inquisitorial retinue for KT or something. There'd be a bit of conversion, but not much! Hopefully they'll be available online for more than 5 minutes!
It's funny that you mentioned not living near a GW store because I actually do, but let me tell you, the store manager makes his own crazy hours. Living about 2 hours away, I always check online to see if the store is open and it would say it was, when in reality it is closed due to the manager making his own hours. This has caused a lot of frustration for me as I have made the long trip to the store only to find it closed. Even worse, when I tried calling the store to confirm their hours, there was no answer. It's really irritating how the manager's unpredictable hours have caused me to waste my time and gas on multiple occasions. It's disappointing when the store is advertised as being open but in reality, it's closed due to the manager not being there. Hopefully, this issue can be addressed and resolved in the future for the convenience of customers like myself who live far from the store.
Very cool, tbh. Might pick it up even though not collecting Cities of Sigmar. Only critique would be I'd love a slightly larger base and a torch stuck in the ground or campfire in front / behind them. Then everyone would do badarse OSL paintjobs.
I really like it. It’s an interesting little diorama, and I feel Commemorative Models should be going down this route more often. Little display pieces you could use in a game, or mount on their special base for display purposes. Something for everyone type stuff.
I like them a lot, but the way they insist on not making these ”special minis” into Mordheim puzzle me. Limited editions is fine, but my guess is they’d be better off investing the effort in reincarnating a system people still talk about ages later. These scream Mordheim to me, it’s a mean tease of what could be!
@ Oh, for sure! I’m just a little frustrated that they push out stuff like Red Gobbos and limited runs, when they’d probably could build up Mordheim instead. It’s such a good setting!
For me at least this one is pretty boring and I'm a little confused as to why people are enthusiastic. These two already have another set of models that look far more interesting in their full on Witch Hunter gear and although the posing being different is ok they just look kind of forgettable in their generic clothing to me. There are so many interesting Black Library heroes who don't have any models and even more possibilities to do completely off the wall stuff for factions that don't get much representation that to do these for the Commemorative miniatures just feels a bit lazy in terms of creativity. If they are going to do them give us something exciting and outside the norm (e.g Bayard's Revenge, The Abhorrent Ghoul King on Throne, The Steel Rook etc).
We didn’t need a new model for two characters who no one really cares about and who have just had a model. There are so many other characters who need a refresh instead. I do like his model though. I don’t like hers at all.
"Gun beats magic" is a concept not nearly explored enough in fantasy

You should check out "Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magic Obscura". It's an RPG game that revolves ENTIRELY around this concept.

What about gun combined with magic?
What I think? Games workshop are trying to tell me that we have Geralt and Ciri at home.
Yes. And ciri learned to use a light crossbow from her time with Yarpen Zigrin.
I have the original father-daughter minis and I love them.
I miss the witch Hunter coats and hat combo

I love it. Reminds me of a bygone WHFB era which really got me into the game.

I like them, I really hope they do a mini of the Demon from Secret Level.

Nice model group. I no longer play AoS after my army going legends this edition, but l can appriciate the model anyway.

looks like i have found my next 2 d&d characters
huge witcher-y vibes from galen
Great set of models for Old World and anyone still playing Mordhiem.
i think thats beter balance to give stores time exlusive rader than only GW stores;
Very Hansel and Gretel! But if they're Witch Hunters where are their hats?
I like these and I hope I'll be able to buy it after Boxing Day
German speaking Ai kirioth is the most cursed s ive ever heard.

I'm just gonna use them for mordheim anyway so no bother

S'alright innit. Nothing to really write home about, I'd say.
Yeah, good looking model, but I can make this with Frostgrave minis as well, for about 10% of the price.
Look better on one base I'd say.

Not bad, but not better than the standard version.
Are these very Witcher coded or is that just me...
How to do a witcher mini without doing a Witcher mini LOL.
