Thrilled that Chris Turpin and Ida Mae are getting this honor. Ida Mae is an mazing group/duo live. I saw them opening of Rodrigo Y Gabriella. I had never heard of them, nor any of their songs. I was captivated. All killer, no filler. One listen and you'll remember every song. Well worth seeing, when live shows come back after CV.
Very worth seeing live. They’ll blow you away. Saw them open for Rodrigo Y Gabriella, and having never heard their songs before, I was captivated by every song they played. I’m so glad PG did a Rig Rundown with him. He definitely has a unique offering.
Got to know Ida Mae less than a week back and I'm such a big fan now of Chris' music and playing ! I play slide too but on acoustic..definitely need a resonator !
Saw this duo in Fort Lauderdale a week or two ago opening with Tommy Emmanuel. Chris's remark in this video about "huge swells of sound" is spot on. I was blown away by those resonators. And his playing, too.
When did EVERY SINGLE AX MONSTER , become so humble ?? Check Trucks for more . I swear . And they disclose every secret , like if you listen , YOU TOO will become great ! ChEcK ! AM STILL MEDIOCRE . But , stopped pouring boiling oil from 3 floor aptmnt .

These guys were the opening act for a Greta Van Fleet concert a few months back and they kicked ass. They’ve made it far, I’m impressed

The slide Chris is playing is a Monarch standard length in Juju White ~ rockymountainslides.com/product/monarch-finger-slide/
That was a nice surprise!
I saw them (it's a duo with his wife) open for Rodrigo Y Gabriela recently and they were very good.
a thought on the mystery machine...a Kay Kraft from the 30's! I saw a Nick Lucas model that had similar pick-guard

A Plastic Fretboard? That things sounded amazing for what it is. Thought it would be nasally bright but the bottom end is strong.
14:00 , when this guitar came out , Bigsby on Gretsch , he finally played something I at least fathomed .
