High-speed Parallel Overtake : Aggressive Hool Express Furiously Overtakes Kanchanjungha Express

  • A thrilling parallel race between two ICF trains : 22321 Howrah - Siuri Hool Express frantically chases and overtakes 13173 Sealdah - Agartala Kanchanjungha Express on the Barddhaman - Asansol quadruple stretch.
    The race begins after Barddhaman Junction (BWN) in a winter morning of December. Up Kanchanjungha Express had departed Barddhaman just a few minutes before Hool Express. Within a few minutes #30030 Ghaziabad WAP-5 led Hool Express furiously started accelerating on the Up fast line while #22651 Howrah WAP-4 led Kanchanjungha Express had already gained enough speed. Just before Talit (TIT) railway station, with a speed of around 103-109 kmph Hool completely overtook Kanchanjungha. But the latter also traied its level best to vie with Hool. Kanchanjungha continuously was chasing Hool upto Khana Junction (KAN) outer; till then the head of Kanchanjungha's WAP-4 was quite visible in the background of foggy morning. Finally, Kanchanjungha had to slow down at Khana Junction for changing track and entering to Sahibganj Loop (SBG loop). On the contrary, Hool Express easily maintained its MPS without any hindrances and continued moving towards the next halt Panagarh (PAN).

    The overtaking was alright, but just look at the environment. Wow, you dudes must be lucky. How often do you get to experience this kind of misty surrounding and wind on your hair? Simply astounding.

      This overtake was a sudden surprise. Even it was a hard struggle to capture the video due to winter season. Perhaps on that day the luck was on my favour. In other words, such train parallel races are quite rare and lucky to witness; and as you said, the atmosphere adds more enjoyment 😄. Many thanks for watching ❤️.

    Yes Kanchenjunga has to take right side for flyover from khana Jn way to Bolpur crossing bwn- asn main line.as your panagarh Durgapur,Andal, Raniguange, Asansol.

      The right side joins the Down line form Bolpur. As Kanchanjungha was the Up train here, it was on the left, on the Up slow line. Even this is good for the up trains to Bolpur to run on this Up slow track because they would have to change the track for a single time to ascend the Khana curve (which is on the left side, not on the right). However, the joining of the Up and Down lines is often confusing. ☺️☺️

      @@AvijitMurmu1997Now four 2 up& 2 down lines are ready run parallel to Asansol. Khana& Andal from where North Bengal boundSBG bound trains can be divert.otherwise if u have noticed Akal takht is parallel run with Poorva 303 up after Bwn.( If akaltakht is slightly late but reaches Asn by 10-20/30 where poorva has bwn &Dgr. slow line is the 5th line for SBG loop.

      This is because of the two up and two down lines. The Asansol - Barddhaman Section of Eastern Railway is a quadruple section; that means two Up and two Down lines. So trains can easily run parallely on this section. Thanks a lot for watching.

      Yes, you got it😃. The day was 27th of December and it was too cold to open the windows. Moreover the train was crowded and none wanted to open either the gate or the windows. I hurriedly visited almost 3 compartments and finally managed a passenger, sitting alone on a seat, to give his seat for 5 minutes; and just after 25 seconds the parallel race began. I still remember that day; it's really memorable. Thank you so much for watching.

      No sir, this is not a slow motion video. It looks like a slow motion video because both the trains were at a high speed. Hool Express was at around 110 kmph.

      Amar mote dutoi valo. WAP-4 diyei besi passenger train chalano hoi. Tobe WAP-5 speed khub taratari niye nei, etai ekta valo jinis. Arekta jinish, WAP-4 easily boro gari tante pare jekhane WAP-5 diye kom coach er gari chalano hoi mainly.

      😂 aree na na...Not all the videos are good. There are some lucky captures which I got unexpectedly of course, but we are not so lucky all the time you know. Before lock-down I used to travel by trains frequently and it would get me some lucky moments 😁 . Anyways, many thanks.
