Fender was smart to contact you. This video is amazing. Your low-key style makes the paid promotion aspect a non-issue. They’re great guitars, and it comes down to price and preference. The Metora is a great sound and it’s a nice color.
You can make anything sound great. But I am fully sold on the meteora after watching you. The split coil sounded amazing and the bridge is really full.
I gotta say, the sound of you playing the Meteora was truly something special, one of the best sounds I've heard from you in a minute. While the shape of the Meteora isn't for me, I'm greatly impressed with the sound of the Haymakers.
I think the Meteora is so cool! Glad Fender is finally giving us more models after dragging their feet for 4 years. Just wish they also released some Player II or Am Pro II Meteoras, because $2200 is a little steep for my blood, even though I think it's super cool
Love the Texas Tea color. I have an Ultra I in he tele in that color. It is so comfortable to play. I was not fond of the teles before my Ultra. The thinner body, the belly cut, the hardware, the boost in the middle switch position. I can imagine this one is even better. Well done.
Great review! Fender was wise to have you play their phenomenal new Ultra 2s. You did them justice. Thanks for your honesty and playing abilities. I own 3 Ultras: Tele, Strat, and Precision Bass. I love them all. They are every bit as beautiful as the originals and more! The noiseless pickups are indistinguishable to single coils even for the Ultra 1 series but quiet even with extreme gain. I had 3 other Fender Teles but sold them all just because I couldn't get comfortable with the body. The belly cut makes a huge difference to me at almost 48 yrs old. Now I love to puck up the Ultra Tele and play. I also forget about the guitars, they become an extension of myself; they are that good. John 5 loved the Ultra 2 Tele from another video. I hope Fender keeps making Ultra 1s with new pickups for the color options and rosewood fingerboards. I would love an Ultra 2 Meteora now. Thanks!
That Texas Tea is starting to grow on me. Your cinematography and lighting is sneaky good!!! I haven’t seen anything even straight from fender that showed the finish off like you did!!!
I cant help myself, knowing You are in Shredgod Beastmode on Stage, i just can hear Your Ambient Nooodlin with -any- Guitar you wearing again and again for hours, such a unique Talent, I think You make even a Shein/Ali Plywood Guitar(-thing) sound classy :-)
If I’m getting a tele, I don’t want it do be modern - I want it to be as traditional, pain in the ass, temperamental, straight off a Nashville bar’s floor as possible. However, I have the 70th Anniversary Ultra Strat, and it’s probably my favorite guitar. Great video! I would’ve loved to hear a comparison of the noiseless PUs vs the ones on your custom shop.
This is great. Both give such great sounds. And your playing really makes the case for them. Where are your drive tones and reverb coming from? They both sound fantastic.
Tha Meteora looks awesome. I do really appreciate body shapes that are a bit different, and offsets are always cool. Probably why I love my Legator Opus T models so much as they are kinda like an offset/Tele hybrid (unfortunately discontinued now though...hopefully they will bring them back). Amazing tone coming out of the Meteora with your setup too. I really love what you were playing with it...that repeating rhythm blended so well with those trippy melodies. I was pretty tired when watching this so that part actually had me zoning out into some other world (I mean that as the utmost compliment! It really was such a dreamy, pleasant soundscape...). Would love to see a video about the scales you use to get that kind of trippy, exotic ambience as it gives your playing such a unique vibe. Unless you don't want anyone to steal your signature sound lol
I am a Jaguar/Jazzmaster guy, so that Meteora is totally my thing. However, a PAINTED headstock is a non-negotiable requirement, so I would go with that Thomann exclusive one. I hope Chicago Music Exchange or Sweetwater do exclusive runs with painted headstocks. I would buy that IMMEDIATELY.
I'm loving the vintage-but-not vibes of these guitars. Nice modern spins on fender's usual playbook. One of those meteoras would be right at home with me!
That Meteora is very cool. I have a Baum Wingman that ticks that alternative rock riff machine box for me. Otherwise this or the Musicman St. Vincent would be really interesting to me. I find myself really wanting a Fender Jaguar at the moment. But there aren't too many options around. Maybe try and find one of the previous gen Vintera Jaguars, or import a MIJ one.
Oh wow... nice work as usual Bea. I just opted for the Fender Tele Player Plus because Chapman discontinued the ML3 Pro Traditional (bad move IMO). Player Plus series goes with the vintage noiseless, pretty much the same setup everywhere else as the Ultra II but diff color scheme on the Mexican versions of these modern type Teles... also the Player Plus series is 1300k cheaper than the Ultra II. My Tele is in the Silver Smoke color scheme with the Pau Ferro finger board. I warmed up to the vintage noiseless after I seriously considered swapping them with Nomads or the Hot Tele set from Seymour Duncan... so for now I am keeping them vintage noiseless.
Hi Bea, big fan of yours. Love the Vower stuff and the nonstop epic gear reviews etc. just curious about how ben and dave are nowadays and whether they are still up to anything musical. Neither of them really seem to post anymore
Can you tell which effect are you playing? And very nice video as usual But I Will LOVE To See You Playing A Maple Neck One...For Sure Game Changer Lol😂😂😂😂
Rabea, I love your playing and wondered if you'd ever had the chance to play with any of the legendary guitarists out there like Clapton, Albert Lee, etc? There's been a few who've been over to Andertons ......
I have the first version of the Tele Ultra and this new one isn't a lot different in the pros & cons. No doubt an excellent and versatile modern guitar, and I play it plenty because its Noiseless pickups are quiet in my electrically-noisy studio space. And it's way more comfortable to play than a regular Tele for me - comfy body, great neck. But it lacks "Tele-ness". Not bad - just nearer to a generic high-quality guitar than nearer to a high-end traditional Tele. I have a Roadhouse Deluxe Strat that shares the same pros & cons, and eventually picked up a bargain Silver Sky SE for more "Strat-ness". I can take the Tele anywhere for almost any style of jam session or gig and it works - from blues to metal. Which is fantastic. But I have a few guitars that can do that. And this is one expensive Tele to just be a general purpose guitar.
@@RabeaMassaad Absolutely top notch lighting and angles you got for those. Especially the Tele - that Texas Tea finish is unreal to see in person and that's got to be some of the best footage detailing what it looks like
Agreed 100%. I also have the Ultra Tele in Texas Tea with the binding. It's my first Fender with binding and at first I was cool with it but now I love it. Hope they keep making Ultra 1s with the new Ultra 2 pickups or add options to Ultra 2s like Rosewood vice Ebony, the binding, and Ultra 1 colors and white pickguards. The one thing I don't dig about the new Ultra 2s are the black pickguards. Not for me.
I had one of the mexican made Alternate Reality meteoras, I liked the design to look at but they do sit kinda weird, very narrow towards the neck and bulky towards the bum end. Still great to see fender pushing forward and having success with a new shape though.
I still prefer the look of original Meteora with tele-style switch. Too sad it seems to it didn’t blow the market enough for Fender to continue the line
Great video, but Fenders choice to use black open coil Humbuckers with black plastic Pickup rings is aesthetically the worst thing since Pau Ferro fretboards
Came for the playing. The guitars? They’re ok, they sound good through your rig, so I guess it’s down to how they feel to play vs the price and what else is available for the cash, or probably less. Like Gibson, Fender seems unable or unwilling to really try and push themselves to produce something truly new. Maybe they don’t because that’s not what their customers want. Good job there are plenty of envelope-pushing companies willing to be innovative.
Not a fan of the sounds. I feel like noiseless pickups lack personality. Love the looks and features though. I'd be instantly transplanting my Nomads into that tele 😉
@@Horseffect yeah I’ve seen a bunch of people talking about this. Weirdly when I was stood playing I didn’t notice it really. But sat down It was getting in the way.

You can find a lot more guitar for the money, and thats me only buying them when they were on a deep discount. They are just stuck in the past and I swear there is going to be a time when this current generation of players stop buying guitars that their business model is going to cost them some serious market share.

@aaronperrotta7055 Ibanez is a good example- my S-series is much better than any Mexico or Squier, and the equal or superior in quality to the basic American made Strats
As a manager in guitar sales that has played just about every fender *and* every fender clone under the sun, I have to mostly disagree. This mightve been true for the original Player 1s and the original american professional 1s, which really werent that great, but fender has stepped up their game significantly since then. The ultras, American professional IIs, and custom shops are genuinely some of the nices guitars I've played. Even the Player IIs are up there, surprisingly. Only "strat clone" that's beat them was a nicer Schecter strat, and those are $4k. For half that price you can get an Ultra II that'll play nearly just as good, or you could get a custom shop heavy relic which will play even better. I think the Fender hate days are over. There's nothing to hate anymore. They're genuinely making good stuff for reasonable prices again.
