I was a Machinist/mechanic for ATSF RR and then BNSF after the merger, loved working on locomotives and wish I didn't quit after only ten years. But the money is better as a Mechanic in mining. But if you every get a chance to turn wrenches, locomotives are the sweetest thing to work on. Hell I didn't even mind driving to Barstow to work. And we all know Barstow isn't a place many want to visit.
Whenever I come across a freight train, they never cease to amaze me with how long they are! The amount of power the front locomotives have in order to pull these massive trains is beyond recognition. Fantastic video!
What a fantastic video. Some astonishing consists caught on video. I counted on one 216 cars and only 6 locomotives.Unreal.Thanks for the upload,a great watch.
Spencer my friend you have knocked it out of the box my friend, his vid is totally and I mean just totally awesome, one of the best at seeing the best railroad in the country doing what it does the best, Run Hard and Run Fast.
I love freight trains bc it reminds me of being a young kid again and standing by the tracks watching them roll by getting to their destinations but being careful about doing it.
The line that ran by my childhood home in north central Arizona was about a mile away from the house. The engines I remember from those days were years before the merger, when Santa Fe had the black and yellow color scheme on every engine with cabooses in tow. Thank you, Spencer, for putting this video together!
is it normal to have 5 locomotives pulling a whopping 153 loaded freight carriages?????? In Europe, its rare to see a 30 to 40 car freight train, let alone one with 5 locos and 153 carriages... Stunning video as well!! Can you make a compilation of just the horns?
My favorite BNSF high speed freight trains across the desert. How awesome. Thank you for filming this video. I hope you do many more beautiful videos like this one.
meu pai trabalhou na antiga estrada de ferro srocabana e fazia cmposições igual a essas que estamos vendo nesse video, grande momentos que nao voltam mais, saudades!!!!!!
Double stack-car trains, oil transport trains, cement transport trains, hopper transport trains, car transport trains, long cargo transport trains, heavy cargo transport trains. BNSF's freight trains are many of nice trains.
The BNSF Lampasas sub [Tex] passes through the farm. I've yet to see a mid train DPU, piggy back trailers, or monster consists. I guess it depends on the country. Same goes for my travels in UP territory.
Amazing vid. Trains in USA seem to be driving the economy. Here in South Africa we have the largest rail network in all of Africa BUT the rail infrastructure is being neglected as corrupt politicians focus on looting from the government purse. Most of our networks are electrified but now the electrical equipment is neglected. Now we are using diesel locomotives ... including our urban metro EMUs which are now pulled by diesels. I hope they privatize the rail and maybe we ll have companies running things... just like the BNSF AND UP
Great vids! But would like to see more trains with NO camera telephoto as the train approaches, though. I like seeing them the way our human eyes do - no up-close telephoto that produces an unnatural, distorted look while also making the approaching train appear slow.
Awesome video! Was out on the Needles late 2020 for 6 weeks. Seeing some familiar places in your videos. Always fun to see other peoples vantage points. Thanks for sharing and i subscribed. Looking forward to watching your other videos!
Freight trains in my opinion are cooler then amtrack and other transportation trains. Because freight trains have different cars each time, Most of them
BNSF's freight trains are not can transport maniest cargos only, littlest of greenhouse gas and transport costs and human costs too. These are modalshift in California and Nevada and New Mexico and Arizona and Texas.
Do you have any video of locomotive 5050 it was a covered wagon. Every time I was working on it and a foreman would come up near the end of shift asking if we were going to make it someone would pop out with a we have a fifty fifty chance, we'd all laugh and the foreman would get pissed. The simple things
5050 was the blue and yellow paint scheme. Now that I think about it maybe it wasn't a covered wagon. Remembering covered wagons were 5200's and 5900's but my memory is failing on this for some reason.
I just started a TH-cam channel dedicated to trains. Just curious, if you post a 30 minute video, according to the analytics how long does the viewer watch your video?
Everybody knows that the H1 scheme of BNSF is the best not because it tabs of that cherry red color and that BNSF call car car of a train makes it the best
bnsf trains is one of my favorite trains
bnsf trains are superior!!
thank you sister, i didn’t know that you liked trains!

Not really. Union pacific locomotives are the same average speed as BNSF so both are the same speed
