- USA Women's Qualifying Basketball Team (2024): Dominating the Competition
The 2024 USA Women's Qualifying Basketball Team successfully secured their spot in the 2024 Summer Olympics by winning the 2024 FIBA Women's Olympic Qualifying Tournament held in Antwerp, Belgium, from February 8th to 11th, 2024.
Roster:
The team consisted of a blend of veteran experience and youthful talent, boasting seven Olympic gold medalists and several rising stars:

Napheesa Collier: Forward
Kahleah Copper: Forward
Rhyne Howard: Guard (Tournament debut)

So they said USA Womens basketball is not about bringing more viewers up or marketing instead about bringing the best Team to win Gold. BS, women basketball is not popular in many parts of the world. USA will win gold with their eyes half closed because it is not a popular sport in many countries. What they need is to get many more interested in women's basketball and USA women's basketball team failed on that opportunity.
Just finished watching Phoenix vs Lynx. Please tell me this was an off day for the Mercury. The two Olympians looked horrible. Low energy. Often saw Diana Taurasi standing in the corner and rarely if ever tried to hustle for a fast break. Griner had 10 points with 7 rebounds and no Assists. She had a horrible 28% FG. I need to watch more of their games because tonight at least neither of these woman looked like they deserve a spot on the Olympic team. I really wanted to see a quality of play out of these two to justify leaving Caitlin Clark off the team. Sorry but I still have a bad taste in my mouth about the snub. I will watch the phoenix's next game, please do better!

They claim Caitlen Clark was not "snubbed" by the Olympic committee. Perhaps they're right. But 20 million Caitlen Clark fans certainly were! (And does anyone think the 42 year-old Taurasi is still one of the best 12 players? Putting her on the team just so she can win a sixth gold medal actually cheapens her GOAT legacy. They should make her the honorary captain and open a spot for a young, upcoming star.)
