At one point they described Lincoln's assassination as instant death, but Lincoln actually survived for about a day after he was shot. Granted he probably wasn't entirely conscious and was probably in excruciating pain.
He did survive but I can't expect that he felt much. The damage form basically contained to the brain, which doesn't have pain receptors (One of the reasons why they can do brain surgery without anaesthesia). I can bet he was uncomfortable, but excruciating pain? Not so sure

That legit isn’t what happened. Abraham Lincoln argued that slavery was morally wrong for years before he ran for President. When he won the presidency, several Southern States immediately seceded from the Union in fear that he would try using his newfound power to regulate or abolish slavery.
After they did this, he issued the Emancipation Proclamation, which freed all slaves in the rebel states (Slavery then only existed in Kentucky and West Virginia, which had fragmented off of Virginia when Virginia joined the Confederacy).
Later, the 13th Amendment would ban all Slavery within the United States, largely due to Lincoln’s efforts in rallying the Union against the Confederacy.
Some time I'd love to see someone do a dive of all the historical accuracies in the show... (Even if it's mainly a comedy they probably got a few deep cut things right... similar to how Bill and Ted did as well...
