    Just a tip, the metal wheel you have can cut or break the mice feet so I recommend a plastic one or a silent spinner

      Herbert Erpaderp That's sad to hear. I guess that's why we have to treasure our beloved pets every day of their lives. You never know which day could be the last.

    • @wildwindanimals3230
      @wildwindanimals3230 8 ปีที่แล้ว +59

      Sometimes mother mice have birthing complications; the stress of pregnancy, birth, and caring for babies can be too much for little mouse bodies. :( Yes, you just need to treasure animals every day; they live such short, delicate lives.

    • @quadstatecameras
      @quadstatecameras 7 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Krystall Vinter Stress. That is why some breeders cull down to a lower number. Sometimes the mother will make the choice and simply stop caring for them.

      XxPanda BearxX Firstly I would point out that we posses no real threat towards the planet (mentioning the universe is just silly). Anything we throw towards the planet is nothing in comparison to what the planet can throw towards us. If Yellowstone erupted it would be a greater catastrophe towards all species on this earth than what we could ever accomplice.
      And yes, humans do bad things, but that's the price we pay. It's like alcohol. Sure there are abusive drunks, but that is a necessary evil compared to the rest of us who just drink beer and play darts and laugh and tell stories. Genocide, torture and hatred is the price we pay for lovers meeting on bridges, for science and laughing and music and friendship. Why do you think that we'll suddenly become victims of our worst qualities when we haven't done so for the past 250,000 years? The hate of men will pass and dictators will die, and all along we'll continue to be kind and happy and clever. You claiming that nothing ever gets fixed is like someone claiming the same during the dark ages. The fact that the world won't be perfect within your lifetime doesn't mean that we're doomed for all eternity.

      shafik sheikh evolution, you had babys A and babys B. The group of A had two different extenral things, the brown hair and one blond(ish) i believe that one died. In this case it had no reazon but in nature this will say brown hair is more practical so the once who have that traid will live on and get more babies.
      Babys B had 3differen things, brown dots(a), blond dots(b), and some had fast growing (3)tails other had slow growing tail (4)
      Now you can combine those to a a3, a4, b3, b4. Nature will select the best surviver in there suroundings. In this case the breader will choose. Is people really like the a4 babys he will not make the b3 babys bread because that wouldnt help his cost.
      You get it probably and i realized i have been an annoying peice of shit now xD

    • @mchevre
      @mchevre 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I always wonder... if you end up with the experience of having a pregnant mouse give birth, and you're not a professional breeder - what in the world do you do to ensure they don't just keep having new litters together over and over until it's unmanagable? Do you actually determine the sex of all of them and separate them, or do you just get rid of all of them?

    • @heyitsmae3109
      @heyitsmae3109 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@mchevre Back when I had the mice, my male mouse escaped during the night and managed to crawl into his mother’s cage. When they got to age I separated them, the females all in one tank and the males in their separate own tank. Some of the males were gifted off to close family and the females stayed with me to ensure that the same thing wouldn’t happen to them. It wasn’t very hard to determine the sex of the little guys. They all lived out their lives and passed away many years ago. It was cute watching them grow but never again would I have let that happen again, I made sure to secure their tanks even more after that so it wouldn’t occur. It was a lot of work cleaning up after so many mice!

      +Crystal Clear You don't really have to do much of anything, as the mother should take care of the babies herself, make sure she's got plenty of food and water and nesting materials. Be aware that she may eat them, or abandon some of them. It's probably best not to disturb her too much for the first couple of days, particularly if she's not fond of being handled. quietly and carefully observe though, because it's awesome and cute. I've heard of mother mice rejecting their babies if they've been handled, but I've not had that issue myself. I have found that handling the babies fairly frequently, though not excessively, when they are young makes them more calm when they grow up.

    Were they Manx or did mama accidentally over groom? I had a mom bite off the tails of her second litter. I think she mistook them for the umbilical cord. Not really uncommon for moms to do that to limbs or even ears though.

    So my female mouse just gave birth yesterday. She was housed with 3 other males (only 2 of which were sexually active) Apparently a litter is generally 5-7 babies (she was huge according to google, my first time having her pregnant) she had 11-13 babies, still too early to separate them. So at least 11. It seems multiple rarities occurred in the same time as well as her first.
