My father tought me how to fish with a rod and bought me my first speargun and my first surfboard,he passed away 4 years ago and I never really thanked him for the heritage he left me. respect for your Dad Jack! please don't forget to thank him,besides that it was an epic video bro! Great video Jack. Vis not so hot at times but the spearing and commentary are always interesting.
Doesn't get much better than Father/Son activities I can tell you, being a dad myself, they are treasured moments and memories. It's one of the best things a son can do is spend time with your dad in shared activity.
I enjoy your commentary and best practices for success and safety.
That's a good warning about the ups/downs being a hazard.
I've done a lot of free diving shallow in my life and thankfully without that warning, gave myself recovery time after dives. Just dumb luck.
Spenc is a good dive buddy and nice to see your dad diving.

Awesome video Jack, so many muttons, I wish here in Miami was as full of those as it is in the Bahamas.
Jack Last week I was spearing from Hollywood beach and I went after a pair of Jacks when I set my eye on one of them I took my time and shot it and got both. The first time it happened to me, I was delighted even though was a lucky shot.
Like I said before, thanks for the tips, they work like magic.
Also, thanks for letting us know that after a dive you have to stay up for a while, I wasn't doing and I had a blackout, thank God my wife was there and could give me the floater so I could recover.
So again, I can't thank you enough!!!

Alot of diving and alot of fish. Telling you this story because I know you'll relate to it. When I was a teenager in the early 70s a guy spearfishing off Bird Rock in La Jolla California speared a huge black Sea bass. They can be taken below the border still, but they are completely protected in California now. The diver used what I believe they call a power head spear gun. Not sure how they work but I believe a charge of some kind is used. As I remember he shot it head on and was nearly drowned but had assistance from his buddy. The fish weighed 442lbs and you can search it and see the picture of the fish I believe. ❤
@DwightPerkins-i7t thats crazy!! 442 lbs?!?! What a site to see! We've used powerheads before on cobia because if you don't all the sharks would eat the fish and get all fired up and turn on us. Lol

I've cleaned channel n knobbed conchs. I froze them n thawed in fridge. Came out semi easy.
Would there be an adventures to drilling a small hone near the beginning n using an air blower w rubber tip to pressure them out.
Didn't have anything like that when I caught the conchs🤦🏻♂️
