However, ability damage wise, Shade is a lot stronger.
I would want to use sylvan Just because you cant pick when you want to use shades pasive i think they could do smoething like triple tap a d then you have her and then you wait another 5 soo it can charge kind of like using a book
Would think you could match the dmg with the extra chances at increased attack. Wouldn't just one major attack ability put Sylvan over Shade with Shade being forced to take an elemental arrow buff instead?
I bought Sylvan 2 weeks ago, and then bought Shade a couple days ago, both at the beginning of a new Battle Pass. On Shades debut run I took her to level 143 on endless mode just by herself at level 33/69, and finished that run at 149 with Sylvan and Helix to clean up. Shade just feels a lot stronger. The flaw with Sylvan is he may have 4 elements, but they only proc off of one arrow. So in the end it's not much different than having one element only. Another flaw is that he may take 4 choices out of the ability pool, but as anyone that plays the game knows, you have good skill selections, and you have bad ones, and if you're on a run where you're getting bad ones, that 4 reduction from the pool won't stop a bad skill choice run. They'll just give you other choices you don't want instead. That's also a flaw with the Enlightenment Spell Book. I've since used Shade for 3 days, and have gotten her up to level 54, and I would have to say I like her better than Sylvan. They're both great but in the end, Shade is just a great Hero, and I think she'll be my number One choice. (She is Already at 54 to Sylvan's 69.) Another thing, I didn't notice a "Buyers Bump" during this Battle Pass, it seemed more random without any significant favor towards things I actually use. With Sylvan there was though!
I prefer Sylvan. As we all know, abilities have great influence on the outcome of your run but not your base damage. I would definitely sacrifice some damage for the chance of having better abilities. His ability also has great synergy with the new enlightenment book. He shines in endless mode where you need good abilities to get you to higher stage.

Yeah they should make Sylvan worth 5000 gems. That is a lot of gems but achievable and at the same time those who do not want to wait can buy the character directly. Also collecting a new hero and gems may lead to players playing the game more and watching more ads.

Not only that, but Sylvan's freeze acts as a good stun. Then his lightning can help your clear speed. THEN his fire and poison can help on the snakes that dive underground, not just by dmg, but by showing you where they're about to spawn. He's packing a lot of utility that isn't gonna be shown in numbers alone. Give Sylvan the Tornado and he just... rampages. That's just what he's bringing to the table right from jump. Once you get multi and front? That alone is basically a wrap. You can just focus on stats then.
I would say, it depends. In my opinion, Sylvan is more stable than Shade. Sylvan has higher HP than Shade at the same level but less Atk. In normal mode, I found that Sylvan gives me better skills than Shade (I almost got Frnt Arrow + Multi + Richochet every run in Chapter 13). Between stage 1-30, Shade is absolutely better but from 31, I think Sylvan is slightly better. In endless mode, I put Sylvan first so that I got better skill pool (than Helix, than Shade). In Coop mode, Shade leads me to reach level 100 more often than Sylvan. I think it because in this mode, the faster you clear the room, the more likely you gonna win. (Shade bass Atk is higher than Sylvan). Conclusion, it depends on your prefer. but Sylvan is still very strong.
If shes right about base dodge 10%-15% i think that with a full dodge build shade might beat the ability argument for sylvan (hes really good tho i agree). I mean arent the poison flame lightining and freeze enhanced versions of the ability pool ones anyway? Hes like urasil phoren taranis and rolla all rolled into one?
I have both, and definitely play with both for what situation I prefer. My rolls haven't really been affected that much, and Shade really packs an awesome punch
Sylvan for utility looks good but having dodge at clutch moments may help in passing levels and the raw dmg can help farming faster. I think in the end it depends on playstyle again, like everything else in the game.

I like Sylvan. I rarely go through a whole run without multishot or front arrow and the bolt ability procs almost constantly. I am using the Brightspear, which almost never misses meaning his abilities proc more. I might feel differently with another weapon.
I bit the bullet and bought Sylvan Monday along with the Staff Battle Pass. I think Sylvan, (and Shade) probably have another hidden ability?! Ever since I have had him I have been getting really good item drops and chests. I just got an Epic Enlightenment book from a Battle Pass key, and so many other drops have been items I actually need and use. The old adage Money Talks BS Walks has never been truer. Well worth the $19.00. I have him along with a 65 Meowgik, as well as a 23 Helix for my all pro team.
I have used Shade since her release, but I enjoy both. I think Sylvan is more fun to play with but think Shade is better for helping me climb higher level missions.
I'm a fun summoner type so I wish that they'd make a hero that has both shadow clone and the one eyed bat for skills! As for when you hit 50k subs. You can never go wrong with a giveaway. It might even attract even more subscribers! 😋

Sylvan seems better but I wish they had something to reshuffle abilities,also stop giving two to the same ability. I hate getting like two rear arrow or two side arrow useless junk. If we Can have a custom to eliminate at lease 5 abilities from the random that be great

Ive been using sylvan for while and hes better than meowgik (who i used before this). Shade sounds better and would make dodge build viable for me (i find it too inconsistent on meowgik especially since people claim dodge isnt additive). All in all i refuse to spend any more money (50 gbp so far) on a game that ive been stuck on for weeks and is heavily reliant on RNG whether thats abilities from pool, equipment drops, runes, opening chests, angel/devil rewards etc etc. If they made certain changes i would spend more money and support them. I like the game a lot but lost interest in buying now

Right now you don't really get much from it + you can use trash items to make a good item Ancient Legendary in the future. As a player who only spends on the game for testing things, I probably will never get to AL lol. I think some players are hoping that Archero changes the dismantling system but if you absolutely need the materials and the coins for something urgent, then go for it tbh. :)
Heres my idea for a new hero. Maybe reach out to the devs about this if you can. Ability: SoulBind Upon entering a stage, the hero binds to a random enemy. All damage dealt to the hero will be transferred to the enemy until the enemy dies. 10 seconds later the hero can soulbind to a new enemy. The hero can soulbind to boss enemies, however they are somewhat immune, as they take less damage and the hero is still able to be hurt. Soulbind damage is dealt in percentages. If an attack to the hero would damage the hero for 25% of their health, the enemy being soulbinded would lose 25% health. This is because I believe enemies tend to have much higher health than the player. This would introduce a cool strategy, as you would try and keep the soulbinded enemy alive so you can soak up more damage. This hero would not pair well with the stalker staff for that purpose. Tell me if this is a good idea :P
I think that you overestimated shade's dps: in one second you counted the dps of true AND shadow but it's not the reality. You should give half second to true form and half second to shadow form since the ratio 4sec:4sec

Technically stacking dodge is a bad strategy, because every dodge you add is less useful than the previous dodge (Dodge isn't additive)
Swift Sloth it isn't additive but you can reach high dodge values though

Having 4 skills immediately is just too good, thats 4 levels and more chances to get the other higher tier skills, Sylvan still.

Utility > raw damage, I'd still give it to Sylvan. Culling the skill pool is just too valuable.
