On November 12th 2011, The Kills played the first of two sold out shows at the prestigious L'Olympia Theatre in Paris. Three thousand tickets a night had been sold. After coming off stage at one of the wildest shows of their career, Jamie and Alison turned to each other and said -- "we have to film tomorrow night's show!"
Overnight, the call was put out via Facebook, asking if anyone would come and film the second show for them. At soundcheck the next day, Sunday. November 13th 2011, a group of friends and fans assembled to capture that night's equally stunning show for posterity.

I've seen a lot of live shows, but the energy of the Kills is something altogether different; something Otherworldly. Alison Mosshart's a foxy witch, and Jamie Hince is nothing less than a warlock. Stoked to see this here.

These guys are the lone torchbeares of rock nowadays. It still sound new and it's not nostalgic or revisionist. Rock is not dead yet, thanks to the Kills. Amazing duo.

When I was a kid my parents took me to the Olympia Theatre to see Edith Piaf.
That's right I'm really an old guy who loves The Kills. So when Alison stepping out of
character to sing The Last Goodbye, a song of haunting tragic nobility, strangely
her voice, her face, her soulful grace, transcended time taking me to another place.
I'm not making any comparisons so don't go trollish on me. The point is,
these two people are limitless in how they touch people with their music.

Dead Weather is stil all about Jack bluesin' out. I get a little tired of all that. I appreciate what all he does, but I still like the White Stripes and The Kills.
But the deceased White Stripes were gods compared to (my beloved) the kills
micah brew I think Dead Weather is trippier than Jack's just bluesin' out, some of it is downright cool and not just Led Zeppelin I impersonation.
But THIS is superb, it reminds me of some of the better 80's and 90's alternative, it would fit right into the Wim Wenders film WINGS OF DESIRE

Frank Sanders LOL, no I'm sure Jack has never even HEARD of Jimmy Page or listened to the album Led Zeppelin I, writing the Stripes material.... all joking aside, Dead Weather draws from several musical sources, if you are musically literate enough to pick them out. It might be an amp sound, a rhythmic flourish or style of vocal phrase, but to me early Zep is there in a lot of stuff. Early Zep was VERY pure blues-rock style.

Been a huge fan of the Kills for years now and this is their absolute best!! Great concert footage. Jamie is a total freak on guitar and Allison oozes sex. They both have a certain looseness to their act, not unlike a drunken sailor in a strange port on a hot sweaty night. Heady stuff.
My only problem with The Kills is I haven't heard a video of them on YT that is loud enough. I don't know why but I want them to be almost unbearably loud. Anyways amazing band!
