WARNING
Do not use the tool at the bottom of the TV. There are metallic ribbon cables there and I tore mine when opening my TV and it can’t be repaired.
To the TH-camr - please add an overlay to your video saying that so others don’t break their TV like I did.
I made the same mistake trying to open from the bottom, which damaged the ribbon cables. I did this before I watched this video and I wish I had seen the video first.
The exact same thing happened to me, I started opening my TV at the bottom because I had seen this video and I thought this was the right method. This video caused more damage than good, I would have opened mine without any problem if I hadn't seen this. Thumb down
@@thegreatape884 Cause this is what the guy does in the video. It is supposed to be a tutorial or wtf
@@thegreatape884 Man, either your eyes or your brain is missing, take another look.
@@thegreatape884 Sorry, I didn't know that at the mental institute where you live patients start watching videos from 0:50. Try to watch it from the beginning, it will help a lot, believe me. Check out 0:35-0:40. He pushes the tool in and does the bottom left corner (if you face the tv screen). That's exactly what I did and damaged the cof (chip on film) ribbon that connects the screen with the buffer board. If I hadn't seen this video I wouldn't ever have had the idea to open my tv like that.
I never went to school for this and learned how myself. I got 3 Samsung 4k 65" curved tv's I use on my computer. It cost me less than 100$. If I payed for them new be over 2500$. People give these tv's away for free all the time as soon as anything happens to them. Best skill to have as hobby.
Thanks for the video, I'd never opened a screwless TV and this helped.
I needed to work on a broken Samsung 7 Series UHD TV that was given to me, but didn't have this tool. I looked at what was readily available in the house and the simple solution was 2 sets of Chinese "chopsticks" . The chopsticks worked well, so well in fact that I had the back off in 2 minutes or less. I have now added chopsticks to my toolbox!
Did you fix the TV? My un65tu7000 just started shutting off after a few minutes. I think it's a bad power supply or capacitors?
Nice idea with the 'chopsticks'. I did the same. Basically took the double chopsticks (before snapping into two sticks) and carved a bevel into the butt end of the sticks that closely matched the same profile as the Samsung plastic tool. Worked like a champ. Just took my time and went around the top and sides to get the distinctive SNAP each time one of the clips released.
My particular unit (QN75Q7FAM) also had permanent snap clips along the bottom side. A tool can NOT be used on these. Instead, once the top and sides are released, it's possible to carefully slide the back downward (about 1/8") to release the permanent bottom clips.
I just replaced the power supply of an UN55MU7000, and this video helped me remove the back easily.
Thank you for sharing your experience.
How ?
What's the name of the tool used to open it?
Several amateurs and even professionals make this kind of mistake. Living and learning...👌
Trowing tv out of 5th floor does the magic too.
Brooooo😂😂😂😂
Do you still live on the 5th floor? 👍❤️💪🇮🇱🙏🕊️
I can vouch for that second floor also works just as well trust me lol
Thanks bro mere pass ye set aya he me khol nahi pa raha tha aapke video dekh ke easily kholdiya
I used a large flat head screwdriver and it worked excellent. there's a technique you just have to slide and feel a little pressure and then twist.
I got a 2019 4k 7 series 55 inch for free but it has a line so i will do this soon!
Thank You.
You are a God of telly.
Samsung UHD7100 was flickering.
In process I've damaged some clips but case closed properly after all.
I've put some tape over 10th pin and tadam.problem fixed.
Thanks again. 😊
How did you fix the flickering?
Thank You so much.....!! How simple and easy that was. I had no idea the back came off like that.
A great help in my TV DIY repair, which saved me at least $200. Thanks.
Got a freaking bug inside my tv I was very scared when I opened it up but I got the bug out and the TV is working and Im happy 🙂😁
How did you get the bug out?
I have one in mine and can't put up with it being there obviously
I got free TV with broken screen to try it out. Used plastic chopstick, not too bad. It can be opened faster than traditional TV with screws, but not sure how many times as plastic and wires can wear out. And if you unclip bezel, the screen will just fall off, be careful. I took it apart all the way to backlights, no screws and pretty fast. There is only one board, so swapping it is going to be quite expensive. Overall interesting design, will see how long these will last.
Great video. You kept it simple and right to the point. Now I can repair mine with this video.
Nice expansion sir 👏🙌
Friend thanks for your explanation, no words are needed to teach when you want to help other people
Excellent job
Thank you for your teaching
this works 100. thank you so much saved me £500
Hmm am thinking those plastic wedges they use for spacing tile will work their usually thrown away at salvage remodels or if your like me pocket them when go to salvage yards contractors trucks
Super understand your teaching bro.. thank you so much bro
You are an angel. Sent to save us from the lucifer who designed this tv
😂 that made me lol. It IS a very stupid design by Samsung. I repair TVs and this shit is so annoying, especially on the curved TVs
theapocilip you’re so right. It took me 25 minutes and a lot of sweat to open UN55KU7000 Samsung TV lol.
@@xcross8537 dam, I'm about to do that now with the same model.
Did you have to swap out the main board or power board or both? Having trouble with picture only displaying in the center, the left and the right side of the screen is dead, you can slightly see the picture but barely. Please let me know. Thx in advance
@@MyReviews_karkan any advice on random flickering???
@@Lordsnake I have to see it as it could be cause by more one thing. Could he the source of the signal, the hdmi cable, or the main board.
You can use a putty knife once you get the end open then wiggle the back end so that the tv screen's weight unclips itself
Great video... my dad who is a tech loved this!! 👍🏻
Hi Paul, the first, no screws, 65 "Samsung tv on my desk. The back cover opened with your guide video easily.
thank you

I think my motherboard needs to be replaced on mine. The One Connect, works for the remote and UI, but the actually port on the TV is messed up or something, and the HDMI ports on the OC don't recognize ANY inputs, and i've replaced it TWICE. Also, my ETHERNET port doesn't recognize when it's plugged into the internet. The TV works fine for the apps and there's nothing wrong with the screen. It's just useless for anything other than watching apps built into it. I can't plug my PC or PS4 into it, since it doesn't recognize them. It did once, but the picture was scrambled and floating off to the side and had no color, then disappeared. Maybe there's a loose plug on the board, from it being wall mounted and adjusted all the time. OPERATOR ERROR. thank you for making this vid! you are very much appreciated!!
This design will discourage about 90% of TV owners from ever opening/repair their units again. I almost gave up on my friend TV UN55KU7000 Samsung. I have worked on TVs since 2015 but this was the first one to make me question my favorite hobby.
Did you happen to have issues with trying to upgrade firmware on it thru USB?
Thanks for the video. Managed to open it easily but could not find the Tcon board. Is it attached to the main board on this tv?
Hey Paul,
I have a samsung Nu7100. Center of the screen LEDs work but not the left or right of screen. Those side are barely viewable. Is it the power board that is at fault or.....
Hope you are well during these uncertain times. Stay health and safe.
Do you know if this is dual voltage? 110-240v? I know the back of it states 110v 50/60hz but the panel may read otherwise on the inside. I’ve heard most modern Samsung tvs are dual voltage.
Hello can you please do a video on how to open up LG SNH5 subwoofer?
Hello good morning can you do a video on how to get the lines running down the whole screen. What could be the problem and how diy?
How sturdy is the LCD? Back panel on a UN65NU6070 is on there real good. Don't want to break the LCD.
That's great. many thanks 🎉
Buen dia amigo Paul ,estoy muy agradecido por tu gran ayuda, hice la herramienta con plastico y me funciono de maravilla, ten tu like buen hombre.
Olle amigo la miq no enciende sabes como reparar esta placa o que checar
Have you guys got any advice on random flickering?
Thanks much for the video! For the 2020 65" Curved/82"-85 Flat models, this process is same? I want crack mine open to do a small mod on the speakers but super afraid of the whole process.. plus they are huge. Thanks again:)
What did you end up modding it with?
So basically you just carefully pry the side and top apart. I figured it would be something like that. I just brought home a 48" Samsung from the trash that won't turn on, not even a stand-by LED. I'm hoping it might just be the fuse, but when I looked at the back, I couldn't find any screws. I really hate it what companies try to get cute with the way their products are put together. Whenever I find a computer in the trash, it's like a Chinese puzzle box trying to figure out what tab I need to press to release each component.
👍👍 🙏thank you for shortening and saving my time wasting🍀🐞🤪🙏
How long is the tip of the tool that u use in case u wanna use something similar
Thanks for the help on how to take off the back...... GUYS, get this! An ANT crawled in my monitor and died.... I have to go back in a clean it better and fix a piece of tape, but then back to new!!! Phew!!!
Don’t suppose you have one on how to take the circuit board off do you friend. 🙏
At least it wasn’t glued! These Samsung’s fail so frequently that the tool should come with every TV. No more Samsung’s for me (4). Latest purchase was a Sony. The Samsung’s failed right about the 2 year mark.
Mine failed after 10 months! Brand new right out of the box.
It wouldn't fail as quick if you put a good power surge protector on it and replace it every two years.
@@island7314 make sure to put a good power surge protector on every electronic device you have. They'd last much longer. These assholes design them to last a lot less, but a good surge does it. I've had mine for well over 3 years now and it is still pulling strong.
My UN55KS8000F just failed. Just below 3 years old. Pretty sure it's a power distribution problem. Was looking for the way to disassemble it, but every attempt resulted in a small separation of adhesive.
Confident that it wasn't supposed to separate, I had to head on here to look for the solution. I don't have a 'jig' tool, but I have other useful tools that could assist just the same. Gonna look for any leak caps or other damaged components to see if I can find the issue, as well as meter all the inputs/outputs to help identify anything that's incorrect.
I'll try on UE40NU7122 led TV. I tried once, but I was afraid to shoot harder. Now I've seen you.
Thanks,
If your wide screen TV is mounted on a wall, as opposed to standing on a table or stand, will the screen life be shortened?
Some have 2way sticky tape along entire top edge that impedes removal abit. I removed most of it after back removal, since it 'balledup'
Thank you somuch of your nice video sir
Źle otwierasz, podważasz każdy róg i haczykiem wyciągasz druty, dzięki czemu nie łamiesz zatrzasków.
guitar pick 80mm for the win
If ever manage to open the back cover put at least an external fan blower for cooling the bga heat sinker even if cut a hole to the back plastics and cause visible modifications this probably will extend way far the life of the television. For better results put a second one in the power supply unit area. This is my personal opinion and an idea for experimenting but my technical skills are above any hobbyist or a casual user,so beware a lot while dealing with these fragile appliances.
Thanks to your video, we were able to fabricate a tool.
Thanks again.
Good Day!!! What do you call that tool that you used?
I am having a problem with my Samsung 65in tv. I have had 4 lenses fall off the set already. I opened the set when I had 2 of them fall off remove the speakers and frames but could not figure out how to open it further to get at the lenses so I put it all back together. Well now there are 4 off. Do you have any instructions or a site that shows how to do it. I understand that it is risky but dont like the way it looks.
Steve
Super! Hat alles funktioniert.
Thanks for sharing this video.i got an idea.
Hi, please advise how to remove the sounding metal frame
All well and good.
What parts go bad most frequently within a year?
for nothing in a year but in two years its edge led strip
@@BELLEVERIC One more strike on everything samsung manufactures.
They should get their collective act together
Within the first few years, Samsungs have a trend of power supply issues. The orange logic board (on the left at 2:35) is the one responsible for power distribution; the issue is likely there.
I have almost exactly the same television except mine is a 75 inch. Not sure if you know the answer to this (or anybody who knows about this TV) but my symptoms are that when you go to turn it on, the (Samsung) logo comes on solid at first… and then these horizontal lines develop (which chops up and dims the picture a bit)... and then the TV shuts off and goes through that cycle again.
Usually for 10 minutes or so, it reboots, over and over again.
When it's just about to turn on and work (which it does usually in less than 15 minutes of letting it cycle like this) you start to see the main menu screen, etc. and then the horizontal lines develop and then it shuts off ... and restarts and then FINALLY, it comes on for a few seconds (with the sound of whatever the TV show is that's playing or whatever) then, it usually goes through one more cycle... and then it stays on (and works perfectly from that point on unless you turn the TV off again).
I'm wondering if that's a power board issue (rather than a main board issue).
According to the seller who sold it to me, It did start occurring, just after a lightning storm.
Do you think replacing the whole power board would do the trick in fixing it? Short of that, is there a particular part (or two) on the power board that would usually be the culprit that I could replace for a lot less money than replacing the whole power board? Even if I have to pay about 125 bucks for a new board, I think it would be worth it. It's a great TV once it stays on.
Thanks!
Hi. How do u remove the TV stand/pedestal from this TV? Its also screwless. I have a ru9000 with the same back and need help with this.
Hey thanks my man. I just picked up a curved one off the street and needed to crack it open! Like and sub on the way
Did you replace the main power board and fix your issue? Idk if u will even get this or I’ll see if you responded but I’m attempting to fox my cousins that died after a power outage! Yikes!!

What if I need to replace the back plastic cover and bezel? Where do I purchase?
How about a 70" LG. Are the screws just the ones around the perimeter?
Would this be the same procedure on a model UN40MU7000F? Just got one of these in for repair and this is the 1st time I've ever seen a TV with no screws in the back. Also, mine has a short slot in the back with a paddle lock symbol next to it. Does something need to be inserted in there to release the cover? I'm afraid to go as rough as you did, I don't want to crack the screen. Are these TV's pretty rugged?
Make sure NOT to insert anything on the bottom. You can use the same tool for your model. Use it only from the sides and top.
Also, in the top corners, you may need to use a knife. It may have double side tape.
@@PaulsTVCo but you literally started at the bottom corner. Are you just saying don't run along the bottom. That its on to start bottom just to get the edge?

Ok guys, my UN75MU9000 does not have clips but seem to be held together on sides and top with double sided tape. Any of you come across this, and if so how did you get it open?
I figured it all out.
tq for sharing this .
Thx; couldn't wipe personal info. Wanted to get the circuit board out, neatly.
Bro the screen of my tv is a litle loosely do I have to tighten the screws or is it just normal because my other tv dont have that problem
Great. I finally saw it from start to finish.
Once open, where are the backlight leds are located?
In the middle, at top?
It worked, once open, the curved TV.
The source power of the leds, was the problem.
Where I live y never had the hope of any fixing, the repairmen didnt have any clue where the leds where!!! In TH-cam doesnt appear also.
The TV its ok now, he fix the problem.
The repairmen (take note) not a technician made a very good work of craftmanship literally.
Of using an old plaque of another Samsung for the source of the leds and by pass. You have to see the New attachment in the back of the TV.
My wife doesnt know 🤫.
Great intro 😂

I have a backlight problem on my samsung TV ( UE55KU6400uxzf ), is it easy to fix ?
I know that I have to remove the back first and the display of the TV to access at the backlight, but i have no idea what the backlight looks like on this thin model, can you help me please ? ^^
Mine, UN55KU6400XHPA just came back frim Samsung service, there was a short circuit at the LED backlight that fried the main board, screen was damaged, too. To fix it it was needed $900, when I spent $1100 on the TV 3.5 years and a half earlier. Said goodbye to Samsung, welcome LG OLED.

Its more complicated than the video be careful with the bottom because it have ribbon cables also its so difficult to change the panel beacuse it doesn't have any screw only 2
Did you have to unclip the bottom. That’s where I got stuck
Check for screws on the bottom side. If no screws, just lift the back cover from the top and it will relist on the bottom. DO NOT insert tool on the bottom.
