The coolest guitar part I've ever heard, especially towards the end of the song. The song isn't steeped in old-school rock and roll, but represents the epitome of coolness of Mark Sandman's views on music in general. That's what I like most about him. He always wanted to do his own thing and bring his own vision. That makes him the greatest musician in my eyes and an example of how you should create and interpret your own music, your own genre.
I'm seeing confusion about the lyrics, to make clear it's "hey Frank". For context this song came from another project of Mark called "Candy bar", it's about the relation between the drummer Dominique and the bassist Frank, because Dominique would usually have to wait for Frank late at night (probably going out, not sure). Got this information from some live version of this song.
I've been waiting here all night I've been waiting here for a long time I've been waiting around all night I've been waiting around since I don't know how long I've been waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting I've been waiting around all night Hey friend, Hey friend, Hey friend (Chorus) I wanna go home x2 I've been waiting to go for a while Do you know what time it is Do you know what time it's getting to be Do you know where I live If we get to leave Hey friend, Hey friend, Hey friend (Chorus) I wanna go home x2 Do you know what time it is Do you know what time it's getting to be Do you know how late it is Finally Do you know how late it is Do you know what time it's getting to be I've been waiting around since I don't know how long Hey friend

One of Mark's best right here. Funky enough to make you wanna slap yo momma
Lunes en la noche. Partido colegial de 🏀 aburrido.
Pero esto es algo perfecto para relajar.
Muy bueno. QEPD Mark. 🙏
Sandman and Sublime...my poolside standbys 😎

My favorite song of the week. It won't let go me head, sokay
I've been waiting here all night
I've been waiting here for a long time
I've been waiting around all night
I've been waiting around since I don't know how long
I've been waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting
I've been waiting around all night
Hey friend, Hey friend, Hey friend
(Chorus)
I wanna go home x2
I've been waiting to go for a while
Do you know what time it is
Do you know what time it's getting to be
Do you know where I live If we get to leave
Hey friend, Hey friend, Hey friend
(Chorus)
I wanna go home x2
Do you know what time it is
Do you know what time it's getting to be
Do you know how late it is
Finally
Do you know how late it is
Do you know what time it's getting to be
I've been waiting around since I don't know how long
Hey friend
It's not "hey friend", it's "hey Frank".
I always thought he was saying "Hey, Frank..Hey, Frank".
He says "Hey frank", referring to their bassist, Frank Swart.
I'm in! I want more!
The Meg White style minimalist drumming is 🔥
Dat bass is raw

Would love to hear this in a Morphine setting without the guitar.
I like the guitar but it might be great if Dana played the guitar part on a sax [or two].
this was waaaaay before morphine ;)
@@mindMyBlues probably???
Zappa and Sandman, gone WAY too soon. SUCKS!
Very True at least we have Les Claypool who was a great fan and influenced by both.
