- In an interview with CBS sixty minutes Qatar’s emir, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, says the countries behind the Gulf crisis are trying to force a change of leadership.
His country's been living under a blockade for almost five months, since four Arab states cut diplomatic and economic relations, demanding Qatar reduce its ties to Iran and Turkey and to end alleged support for "terrorism" - an allegation Qatar has repeatedly denied.
Sheikh Tamim proclaimed his willingness to work with the blockading countries to end the crisis, but said that "nothing is going to be above Qatar's sovereignty."
Al Jazeera's Mike Hanna reports from Washington.

Plain and simple. It's jealousy and fear from the part of these bullies. How come such a tiny country be that rich and that influential. Qatar is a leader in education quality; sport planning for generation, an oasis of peace and decency. Even if it hosts individuals of murky political stands, it does this on its own terms. Other countries provided safe haven to worse. Terrorism started in KSA and breeds in Abu Dhabi. AJ is the most influential and respected media outlet and most watched even in the US. No other news agency produce the sort of documentaries or reports that AJ does. Those four puppets have shot themselves on their conspiring smelly feet.
By the way..Qatar AND Saudi AND the US and Turkey all coordinated support to the 'rebels' against the Syrian regime at the beginning. None was labelled terrorist. Everyone was part of that alliance. It is laughable that now Qatar is singled out because of that. We might have short memory..but not total amnesia.
