People, it's not just clothing! Big companies look for countries in which they can pay the least amount of money to each worker. Direct tv, at&t, khols, etc, etc. It's evil from them as it is for each country which do not protect it's citizens!!

    • @malayaanderson8222

I really wish more people would realize this, they say they’ll boycott big clothing brands or buy second hand like that’ll stop the labor.
No, majority of products are made from cheap labor.

If it is even 4 years earlier, this would be the report of reflected 1% of the factories, 99% of the factories was practicing good compliance and maintained COC.
Now even you may see .001% of worst practice but truely now Bangladesh's garments practices should be the best in genre from entire wold i recon.
I am a compliance Manager and truly it has changed a lot and now workers are getting on an average 10000 Taka per month. In addition, they are getting 500 Tk Attendance bonus, 400 Taka Transport bonus, 1500 Taka incentives if you calculate, Free lunch all together it should cross 13000 Taka...
But unfortunately customers are repeatedly offering less price even for the best LEED, ISO, BSCI, SEDEX, OEKOTEX, ICS, WRAP certified factories.

This isn't Walmart's fault. Is Walmart supposed to have engineers go in and make sure the buildings are safe? It sounds like the Bangladesh government dosen't care about its citizens and needs to enforce building codes.

This all makes the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire in NYC in 1911 which killed 146, look like a Saturday Afternoon picnic... The meaning behind it is the same, though... A sweatshop, poor safety conditions, and underpaid garment workers making clothes for big money companies looking to cut their production costs...

It's incredible how MNC's only value the generation of capital no matter the repercussions. In my mind it is impossible to treat human beings as if they were mere instruments, as if the burning of thousands is just a collateral damage.
Really makes you wonder the self called social responsible corporations and all the inconceivable things they make when the public eye is not watching.
