It’s crazy to know DJ Clark Kent grew up in my childhood neighborhood. BK is home to many legends. I’m from Eastern Parkway btwn Albany and Troy which is walking distance from where he was born and raised…that Jamaican bakery was a regular stop for my fam and I back in the day. Best beef patties I’ve ever had! I believe they’re still in business to this day. We used to run up and down the block he walks down where that spot “Nizzy’s” is located and I used to get my hair cut a few doors up from there. Good times!
Moved here in 1980 from Trinidad and met this dude in 84. He made me a cassette tape ( my first true Hip Hop tape.... Still have it😊) . All I can I am from Brooklyn Crown heights President & Nostrand and I learned a lot and enjoyed every minute of going up here. Moved now but I still have friends And I do visit at least 6 times a year no joke. Brooklyn for Life.
Always liked Dj Clark Kent brotha made mad moves behind the scenes. When I found out he produced Lyte's Cram To Understand U, I was buggin...Son is the real deal, the genuine article.
OMG Crown Heights. My Mom grew up in 1626 Union between Troy and Schenectady. She would tell me about walking in Lincoln Terrace Park and how it was safe 24/7. My Dad had a cleaning store around the corner on Troy Ave. Later on I'd run there training for the NYC Marathon, up Kingston from Eastern Parkway to Wingate. I'd be wearing a yarmulke, shorts, a tank top and running shoes, and got bemused looks from the Hasidim.
wow wow wow it took me back I know every place he's talking about. I grew up on st. john's between Troy ave and Schenectady avenue. Damn back in 88 and 90 92 it was crazy over there. thank God it's not like that now. but yes truly hip hop
RIP Clark Kent.I met you back in the late 90 in New York. I was with Jay Boogie, and we came to Ny from Chicago. We went to a party somewhere of the water in NY. 😢😮
Dom Jú Nah, it wasn't him. It was EZ Elpee!!! A lot of people (including myself at one time) thought it was him because he was DJing at the end of the video. Found out it was Elpee courtesy of The Source Magazine in like 2002. :)
