    offfttt that's one sexy looking inverter. Nice clean and simple install too, nice work.

    I’m confused by grounding (earthing the metal body of unit) - I’m presuming this refers to the 240v side of things - I see the advice is to earth to the chassis but the chassis of a 4WD isn’t connected to the earth except via the tyres, which presumably act as an insulator to some degree - doesn’t this increase the risk of electrocution if the chassis becomes 240v AC ‘live’ and the person who touches it from outside (or getting in/ out of the vehicle) earths it ?

    Top shelf, great vid.

    I’m surprised you did not pre charge the inverter before connecting it?
    I know I have done it when installing to prevent spark killing inverter.
    Does redarc have something that protects it, pre charging somehow inside the unit?

    Nice, thats a beauty.

    Where did you ground it to on your chassis ? Up in engine bay or just anywhere under your car

    • @Campingdownunder
      @Campingdownunder  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's grounded to my old seatbelt bolt thread which was no longer used. But I've ran extra grounds from my battery to the body so it could handle it as the factory ground on the old hilux wasn't good enough

      @@Campingdownunder what do you mean run extra ground like a thick wire from your starter better to a ground point near back of car ?

      @Campingdownunder  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      My hilux only had a pretty thin earth going from the starter battery to the body so I didn't trust grounding to the body without a decent main earth. You won't need to worry about that though lol. Just earth to the body or the chassis in a suitable location

    Which shunt are you using with the manager 30?

    • @Campingdownunder
      @Campingdownunder  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The shunt that's provided with the manager 30 & redvision screen

    Question/s.. why can't they be mounted upside down?
    Is that every inverter or just this one in particular?

    • @Campingdownunder
      @Campingdownunder  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think it's to do with heat dissipation. Most inverters I've seen don't like to be upside down. Flat or horizontal is best but vertical is acceptable

    didn’t need a 2kw inverter to run a laptop!

    • @Campingdownunder
      @Campingdownunder  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I wanted it to future proof my setup. I'll be upgrading 4wds in the future & all my 12v setup will be moved into the next 4wd. I'll be able to carry more than I can now in the old hilux so it will be used in the future

    Hahha. Only going to use it for charging a laptop? Seems a little overkill.

    • @Campingdownunder
      @Campingdownunder  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Not now with my new setup. I'm having 600ah of lithium in my new build so I'll be able to run what ever I want. I was future planning rather than having to upgrade down the track

      @Campingdownunder Nice. You won't be disappointed. The RS3 is a sweet inverter. Thanks for the Vid.
