What is the difference between 浮き星 and 金平糖? Well, it seems the Floating Star (shown in this video) is actually Rice covered in Syrup.. While Konpeitō is ALSO a rice kernel covered in sugar! The later I've heard takes around 10 to 30 days to be made, so I wonder if the process is different(?). Anyway, the only Daifuku I need in my life is the store bought 雪見だいふく.. which any tourist must have.
