It makes me realise how much money we save in the UK by having potable water available from the tap, (faucet). Saves recycling all those plastic bottles too. Nice to see you keeping your machines happy, those hub leaks are a tricky call, some you win, some you lose. Best wishes to Nicole...

Thanks for the video Chet. Wow. That is a lot of water. That will hold all of you for a while. You do an excellent job on servicing your equipment and checks by the dealership. That kind of effort always pays you good return on your equipment. Our tractors looked like new all the time. Keeping equipment in good condition is important to the grain operation. Your shop is wonderful to work in. Helps in getting the job done. Thanks to Nicole for editing and trust you are doing well. Thanks again for letting us follow along. Iowa farm boy from years ago.
Great work Chet in knowing what to look out for in pipes rubbing and leaks. Its going to be a sore one Chet changing your seals. Great seeing the Chet and Big Swede show with the water.
Have you looked at a filter cart to clean your oil and pump new oil in? We used different viscosity hydraulic oil in the material handlers in the winter and used the filter pump to remove it and save it for the next season. We had quick coupler fittings to pump oil in.
Started watching your video tonight and our little girl (2) said “Larson’s” when your intro came on! Thanks for sharing your lives with us and as always we will continue praying for Nikki!
Pro tip. Your doing it right. Just keep doing it your way. Thanks for another great video. Hope the big swede doesn't drink all that water this week and that you and Nikki are well.
Ya can tap a little hole in the bottom of the filters so the oil drains out of it. Makes the bigger filters alot lighter and easier. No mess. Awesome channel.
Another banger of a video👍👍 !!! Chet tinfoil works great when trying not to make a huge mess with the tough to reach filters. Put it tightly around the bottom of the filter and flare it out about half way up to catch the spilling fluid. Another way is to wrap it around the stuff underneath the filter to keep the tractor 🚜 clean. Also, Nikki keep knocking it out of the park with the editing, stay strong 💪 and im sending prayers from upstate NY !!!!
NIKKI!!!!!!!!!! I just saw your update on GoFundMe!! WOOOO WHOO!!!!!! I believe in miracles and I'm so glad for this news....Here's to more good news to come! ❤

Chet, hold up on your funnel to let the air out without burping back thru the funnel. Or put something between the funnel and fill tube that you're sure won't accidentally fall in the machine 🙄🇺🇸
Chet, do yourself a favor and put some of that black plastic wire loom on those track tensioner hoses. It's what I've been doing for customers and it works, no rubs on the jacket of the hose.

When removing old filter, slide a plastic bag over it from the bottom, then unscrew the rest of the way off. The bag will catch the oil spill, thus no mess!
You should try putting a stray or small hose in your funnel and vip tie it too the fu nle so you don't lose it. That will allow air to go in and not bubble out when pouring oil in.
I found when changing filters, I started using clean grease on the orings. Just a light film and they come off a lot better come change time . Instead of using engine oil for lube
Thanks for another sweet video always something going on out there with the equipment have to do it though like seeing ya all do a lot of your own maintenance save big bucs
Get some silco firesleeve to protect the rub points. Since it's a silicone outer layer, it won't actually show much if any wear. It's actual use is to heat protect flexible fluid lines but I don't think you have many hot areas to worry about, unlike aircraft. Also get yourself a Form-A-Funnel. If you position it under the filter, you can direct the overflow away from obstacles before it dumps into your drain tray.
Love the shop videos. I used to weld for a farmer in his shop and his equipment never got the oil changes and other maintenance that you guys do. So I appreciate seeing you do it.
Chet, if you take a small diameter piece of Tygon tubing and drop it into your funnel so it hangs inside and vents to the top, the funnel won't belch back at you while filling.
Parker hyd makes a kevlar wrap to protect hyd hoses from wear, we use it on all of our hoses that might rub on things and cause holes. Just a thought but it works great.
The funnel bubbles back up because there's a seal between the funnel and the hole, put something in the hole with the filter that will allow the air to escape through the outside of the funnel, a pen or something that won't fall into the gearbox
Chet you were checking the hydraulic hoses on the quad undercarriage. Just wondering if you took like a hose that goes from a milking unit to the pipeline cut what length you need slit it open on one side and wrap around then either zip ties or duct tape it to prevent the hydraulic hoses from rubbing.
Share some advice I got from back in the day when I turned wrenches on Semis. When changing filters puncture the bottom of the filter before removing and let drain into the catch pan. It doesn't get oil everywhere when taking the filter off. Truckers with the very well dressed up trucks really appreciated that when I would change their oil on there rigs. Just my 2 cent idea.
$700+ for bottled water pallet every 3 months or $160 for a Revers Osmosis Alkaline Water Filter System and $40 every 6-9 months. We have nasty water and the normal filters would not take out the bad taste, after installing the Reverse Osmosis system and changing filters every 6 months it is still such good water, and there are no waste bottles, and it's easy to install, I even have my ice maker hooked up to it.
Hi, use silicone grease ‘MS4’ on the oil filter seal, standard oil will actually make the filter harder to remove as it appears to disappear over time.
Hey chet I'm from Wisconsin and on the cranberry marsh I work at we route all our hydraulic hoses through old fire hose because it will never wear through and it neatens up the lines
Hi Chet you mentioned grain prices going up. I think most Albertan farmers got caught the same as you on pricing. Most canola went out at $11.50 to 12.50 a bushel, now is &16.00. Wheat is now over $8.00 was $7.00 per bushel. Barley is now almost $6.00 picked up on farm was&4.50. How are your corn and soy numbers doing.
You’re right Chet if you don’t use a wrench to tighten those filters and only hand tighten the seal will leak every time. Even the Big Swede can’t hand tighten enough on those.
It also doesn't look like there is much room to get your hand in there . Looks like the engineers who design and build them have never changed the filter.
Have you thought about using the foam insulation covers that plumbers use water lines so they don't freeze and put them on the hydraulic lines where they are running.
Chet I haven't heard you mention Nikkie lately. I hope her and you are doing good. I think you said she had to go back to California for more, is that coming up seen? My prayers are with her and you Chet. Hang in there.
Tech tip: stick a small vacuum line down thru your funnel, past the bottom several inches and loop it over the top of the funnel. No more gurgle as you fill.
You can take heater hose or vacuum line that is oversize of your hydraulic hose, cut it down the center, wrap it around the hydraulic track tension lines and zip-tie it tight. Then the outer line you zip tied on will rub and not your more important functional line on the inside.
