  • This video shows Badger filmed in infra-red light eating at eye-level. The video was filmed on the 24th March 2014.
This evening we are back at our secret badger sett location in Staffordshire.
All the lights are off in the garden, so we are using our night-vision camera. We can barely even see the badgers with our own eyes , but the infra-red light on the camera picks up the badger.
An hour ago we scattered a mug of plain peanuts and brazil nuts across a lawn, along with a few cocktail sausages.
We were hiding behind a low wall - we’d hung the camera down on a short rope. We stayed silent and still so we did not alarm the badgers.
When the badgers arrived, they knew we were there, but they weren’t alarmed by our presence.
It was wonderful to watch them sniff out the food and then chomp through it; and then do a second pass over the lawn looking for any food that they might have missed.
