I almost didn't watch this, but I'm glad I did. The questions Isak presented were excellent in both complexity and variety (like usual) from many quite relevant current topics. The guest had easy road of doing his job after that. I guess the title somewhat failed in pulling me over, I didn't want some unrealistic fantasy speculation, but in actuality the podcast very much stayed at real world with real examples.

We need more pop culture and good stories that will break the cycle and open up our imaginations to the possibilities of being morally ambitious

25:30 sounds like he’s saying ambition is a lot like hope. Wonder what he would say about Robert Sapolsky‘s idea that there is no such thing as free will which he talks about in his most recent book.

I find the discussion about there being no free will to be self defeating. No point in trying to have it if it is true, so might as well talk about other things. True or false it doesn't matter therefore we might as well live as if it's false. Interestingly enough living as if it's false gives a fundamentally different result as people who take ownership of their lives do better on average than those who don't believe they can take ownership

We may not have free will in a theoretical sense but for all intents and purposes we have something, I don’t know what you want to call it, that makes us aware and able to direct our lives where we want

Great interview! I can't wait to buy his book in English. Another case of a useless movement was Occupy Wall Street, which made lots of noise and awareness about the 1% and that was it.

The word you're after is peat and otherwise you got a lot wrong in your story.

Please elaborate if you have the time, I’m curious to hear what you think was wrong

@@Futucast If he means the paintjob on parliament building, you possibly did get some details wrong, but the overall story was close enough and point of the story, which was the most important thing, was very well transferred over.

If you listen to podcasts just to sniff your own farts instead of learning something new, then go ahead!

I did not pay this guy to write this, thanks for backing us up
