The capital is moved to a new place. Does this mean that the housing problems of people who live in kampungs on the riverbanks get less attention?. Unfortunately the problems will not go away with the many floods and I hope government and municipal council of Jakarta will still take their responsibility for its inhabitants. If you're in crowded place and you pai the tukang parkir, that man will guard it and also the people around will def try to stop thief.

If you planning bike touring across Java, you should contact bicycle clubs. Usually they willing to escort you at least across their area for free. I've watched several bicycle touring did that. Especially the Federal bicycle club. They have the club almost at every big city I don't know how to say this politely, but your girlfriend clothing might invite some guys flirting. A bule cycling is already invite enough attention.
