It only made sense that the piece I listen to on a regular basis ends up becoming a target for an arrangement. Although I'm not sue what took me so long! I absolutely love the original and the Evolution versions of The Final Choice. I'm tempted to say it's in my top 10 Falcom pieces of all time. Even if you were to strip away the powerful context of the scenes where you track is heard, the piece stands on its own as being so emotive and powerful. If you haven't played any game from the series, I suspect you can imagine how you might feel experiencing it in-game. The track takes place in several scenes across The Legend of Heroes
My goal was almost to create a middle ground between the upfront original and the very cinematic sounding Evolution version. I also wanted to bring to the forefront some of my favourite elements such as the piano during the climax and generally introduce my own feel to it. At the very least, this has really encouraged me to replay Third Chapter and potentially the whole of the Trails in the Sky again. I went from being pretty skeptical of Kevin Graham to him becoming one of my favourite protagonists.
