- Hi friends! Welcome to another day in the life of a soap maker. In this vlog we get to spend 2 days together in the studio making soap, candles, and my new body oils. 💮💮💮Your videos are awesome and well made! I usually don't get the full size of what I make. I keep left over products, "damage" goods or the ugly bar of soap for myself haha. I would like to see a cleaning video of every product you make :) and do you have a kitchen sink and a bathroom in your studio? 💮💮💮

Your labels are absolutely beautiful. I think I'd buy the products just on the beautiful packaging/labels alone. I know that's weird, but I'm a sucker for beautiful labels/packaging.

As a maker, I try to cut down on my plastics but I have decided not to beat myself up and I hope no one judges you for using those. They are cute and great for allowing your customers to try your products! Don’t get hard on yourself. There are are a lot of people who love to judge makers for using plastic in which on some things, we don’t have much of a choice. I think that is a great idea!

Yes I have candles with mixed scent I do it with my candles and whipped soap which I use all the time

Yes I do save the extra, too. I have a little 15oz coconut oil container I keep extra body butter in.😉

Happy Thursday!! Loving the content! I was wondering if you have any problems with your product melting when you ship it in the summer. Some people use cold packs, do you use anything like that? Thanks!
Hi!! I've never had any issues but I don't ship after Wednesday in the warmer months so that packages aren't sitting in trucks, etc. I've heard people use the cool wrap from Uline. I also try to ship USPS priority so it's not taking multiple days during transport like shipping ground might do. Hope that helps!
Hey, love the video. Also love the little clam shells that you are putting the body butter samples in. Please can you tell us where you got those. That would be perfect for me too as I always have a tiny bit left over and popping the excess into a few of these would be soo much better. Xxx

Thank you! I honestly don't have a favorite because each website has good and bad fragrances so you have to test a lot. I've purchased from Brambleberry, Nature's Garden, WSP, Bulk Apothecary, Candle Science to name a few!
Oh my. I didn't find any problem with the volume. In fact I can watch your video even late at night (while I'm sewing), without worrying that the volume will wake my toddler up, which happens with other channels. Maybe its just my ears? 😁😂

Have you thought of buying something like a Berkey filter instead of buying plastic bottles of water? That would help with single use plastic.
I haven't but that's a great suggestion. I'll have to look into it and make sure the water is as clean as distilled water. Thank you!
Caitlin, when you do the sample body butters, do you put on a sticker with the ingredients as well? I found that customers gets annoyed if they don't know what is in the sample product. What has your experience been so far? Lovely vlog. I truly enjoyed it as always.
I don't do a sticker with ingredients because they are SO small but I do have a sticker with the scent name. I post all my ingredients on my website so customers can go and look up that info there!

What size boxes do you use for shipping? I’m looking for small boxes to put inside padded flat rate shipping envelopes.
I have a variety actually...I went through all of them in a previous vlog a month ago. If you search for shipping supplies/boxes that video should come up!

Hi, when you buy hard oils in bulk. How do you measure it out?
It depends on the oil, if it's palm oil I have to melt the whole thing down but for the coconut oil or shea butter, cocoa butter, etc. I just portion out the correct amount into another container and heat it up that way. Hope that helps!
