So glad Martin Atkinson retired. Such a biased referee, went 42 consecutive games without awarding Liverpool a penalty at the time of his retirement, a run going back to 2015. For comparison, Paul Tierney went 29 games before awarding a penalty to Liverpool against Spurs a few weeks ago.

It's actually easier to get to peak fitness on a plant based diet. Messi wasn't the only one to make the switch when recovering from injury. There are plenty of players that eat plant based or mainly plant based such as Messi, Kevin De Bruyne, İlkay Gündoğan, Chris Smalling, Hector Bellerin, Fabian Delph, Sergio Agüero, Ronaldo, Alex Morgan, Gareth Bale, Serge Gnabry, Jenny Beattie, Jermain Defoe, Jack Wilshere etc. Do some research, watch the game changers, look up Jahina Malik or Nimai Delgado for examples of plant based body builders or Scott Jurek or Rich Roll for plant based ultra-endurance runners, Novak Djokovic and Nick Kyrgios in tennis, David Haye and Bryant Jennings in boxing. We're fed a lot of BS as kids that is hard to let go of. Giving up Santa was easy compared to giving up animal meat but we don't need either!
Edit: I've just discovered that Graeme Souness has been vegan since 2018. A Liverpool legend that thinks it's a good idea 👍
