Everybody talking about how '80s this sounds, but honestly, to me it feels much more like the sound of the future, while of course retaining a lot of characteristics that gave '80s music its flavor. In general, I firmly believe that '80s influences will play a fundamental role in establishing the future of mainstream music as a whole. While real, deep artistry was vastly pushed into the background of the public eye in the late 2000s to mid-2010s, I feel like the 2020s, and Gen Z in particular, have brought about a diversification, deepening, and renaissance of artistic freedom in mainstream music the likes of which we last saw in the mid-'90s, and I *love it!*
Thing about Synthwave is that -- much like Vaporwave does in a sarcastic way regarding comsume-culture -- does remember a 1980s that didn't exist in reality but merely on TV and the Silver-screen. A fever dream of future optimism and technological anticipation as well as the best elements from the "good ol' days" of a high trust society. The future is here, yet the optimism and anticipation, virtuosity ... the innocence is gone, vanished and deconstructed in Focus group and committee marketing to appease share holders. Same as the hight trust society.
Bloodstain Lane returns and influences the masses immediately. The 80's vibe on this is tremendous. You have to listen to this in a White Miami Vice suit.

That's def no accident. It's kind of ridiculous how much I think about a song and what I might pair it with before I start cutting something. I always fancied myself as a bit of an aficionado on 80's music and was confused when my daughter started playing this as I'd never heard it before, now I know it's from a 2016 album it explains why. This is a masterpiece of retro synth pop and I love it, so much that i went and bought the Atlas album in iTunes. @OllieWride your voice is sublime on this song and compliments the track perfectly. Shame there doesn't appear to be an official video but I can forgive the cheesy Cocktail clips..
