    I wonder why external fuel tanks are not situated either side of the boom behind the cabin rather than underneath, another 20 gal each np. Right by the 'main' tank of a piddling 12 gal.

    I know your two strokes are detuned, or rather retuned for wider torque and power with a lower rev range, and it's always a compromise, but did you ever think about using power valves, or variable exhaust port timing to get better power over the rpm range ? I have rebuilt a few Suzuki RGV-250 motors over my years of racing and riding, these are high performance 90 degree v twins, 250 cc water cooled with variable exhaust port timing, and can make up to and over 80 horsepower at 12, 000 rpm...admittedly the reliability isn't up there for aeronautical use...they are very trick motors though, and weigh bugger all, the whole bike was under 120 kg's with just on 80 horsepower, and with even more worked one's getting up to 90 horse...those cylinders are coated with some special nickel nitride stuff nearly as hard as diamond type thing, piston's coated with teflon and not much skirt on there to speak of, twisting the throttle gives a real crisp and instant sting of horsepower, the engine management computer controls the power and it's there in huge amounts from 9000 to 12500 rpm, best not to hold it up there near the red line for too long tho ! I had all the Suzuki after market factory race kit parts, the difference between the original bike and the factory kitted one is incredible, two totally different animals, I used it to scare the hell out of the big capacity road bikes on my Takaka hill, in New Zealand.

      In that case I would hope that the pilot would have sufficient altitude to correct the roll to right side up. Helis this light would have plenty of potential to pull this maneuver off. In theory. I’d like to try this theory on the simulator in high wind conditions. 60-80kts small airplanes can literally fly backwards grounds speed negative.

    Why would you want to turn a motor DOWN. Pound for pound Having more HP then you "need" and not using the full capacity is one thing, but actually removing the horse power just seems wrong. There must be a good reason.

    • @NatureRecycleFlorida
      @NatureRecycleFlorida  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Most engines are detuned including new car engines makes them last longer .
      Aftermarket tuners can unlock the full powers with hot tunes or mods .
      That's my view they might have different reason.
      Watch Nelson racing engines tuning videos or Banks engine builds
