Good to know about budget-friendly options. I'm using Rode VideoMic NTG, which is my on-camera shotgun mic as well and I was thinking about a dedicated microphone for live streams and online meetings. VideoMic is fine, but that's a bit annoying to switch it from the camera to the microphone arm. On the bright side - it is always charged.
That is what I was doing initially, shotgun mic on camera, then went with the Shure SM7B, but this would have been the option I would have liked, price and sound quality. Thanks Aivars for hanging out on the livestream yesterday!!
Nice job on this video....Yeah, I've gotta figure out how much I want to spend on my audio setup as well...I was looking at the "RODECaster Pro" as you mentioned (but not sure I need that for my setup...$600.00). Can go crazy with audio just like everything else. Thanks again for the review!
Good audio can make a decent video FANTASTIC! I see mics like good lenses or lights, you won't have to upgrade them too often if you buy the right one for you first. Thanks for watching and the comment!
You should check out the Wave XLR. It is a DAC with the same software as the wave mics. It has a 75 dB gain which can drive an sm7b without needing a cloudlifter or fethead. Maybe Elgato can send you one.
Yeah I am eyeing the Wave XLR - especially now that I am doing more consistent live streams. But I really do like the wave 1 it's so easy to use and sounds great for my voice. Maybe I'll sell the cloud lifter and scarlet and pick up the wave xlr as a replacement. Thanks Andrew for watching and the suggestion!
It really sounds good, man! I mean, to compared it with the SURE!!! wow, and you're 100% right about the arm! the other one does look intrusive and big, the other one is beautiful! Well, now I know about Elgato, which is not El Gato! 😂. Great video as always, Rafael. Thanks
Yeah, I didn't really know about Elgato except for the stream deck and the gamer community, nice to have good options for good simple audio! Thanks Ruben!
That is how I felt! I had very low expectations for the mic, but after using it over and over again for a month it's my favourite for sure, less stuff to plug in, less gear, and it sounds so nice for my set up. Thanks for watching and the comment Ananda!
Was standing in the store a couple of days ago with this microphone in my hand (was there to buy something else) but ended up not getting it. Now I’m kind of wondering if I should go back 😊 Tips on a good sounding plug and play microphone is always welcome 😊 Good video as always 😊
I will be honest, I had very low expectations for the mic, but after using it over and over again for a month it's my favourite for sure, less stuff to plug in, less gear, and it sounds so nice for my set up. Definitely test it out to see if it works for you. But for roughly $150 USD it sounds as good as the SM7B full setup at close to $1000 with the scarlet, the cloud lifter needed. Thanks Roger! Wishing you a great weekend!

The Wave sounds great on your streams! Love the semi-retro styling of it too.
I was genuinely surprised with this mic! Happy I had a chance to play with it. Thanks as always for watching TB!
Yooo! This is a really good review , thanks man.
I appreciate it! Thanks for watching and the nice comment!!

It sounds really good and it even looks good with the dedicated arm... thanks Rafael
I was pleasantly surprised with the sound of the mic, and the arm is perfect for the price! Thanks Daniel for watching and the comment!

Sounds richer than the Shure; very pleasant sound. Thanks, I'm all over inexpensive quality gear.

Awesome mic! Just oredered mine :)
Nice comparsion! For me mv7 sounds best but to be honest elgave wave 1 is nice suprise. Wave 1 sounds a little flat but clear and lound nice.
it's still my go to mic for livestreams, I like the software now that it's upgraded to include VST Plugins. Thanks for watching and the comment!
I was just wondering, I have a computer that has loud fans is there something I could do with the mic to make the fans more quiet
Can wave link hook up 2 wave 1 mics?
yes it can! I have two hooked up now. Thanks for watching and the comment David!
@@RafaelLudwig so it handles 2 mics hooked from the same Mac/pc? Thanks man
@@DavidBrackett385 That is correct.
@@RafaelLudwig crazy because Elgato says that multiple wave mics are not supported but additional usb mics are.
