Great video fellas, an important 3 points 🙌🏻, Tonali once again showing his class yesterday 😃
I am an Australian from Melbourne & my AFL team is Collingwood & so our symbol is the magpie. So I have been following Newcastle United in the Premier League for at least 10 years, if not longer. I really enjoy listening to these 3 guys as they combine intelligent analysis with articulate descriptions & some self deprecating humour without being ovey parochial. Plus, I also appreciate their Geordie accents which are distinctive but not excessive. Keep going guys. You are doing well.
these are "posh geordies" so the accent is slightly softened 😂
I can absolutely assure you, if you know anything about any one of us three, there's been nowt posh about our roots. Three lads who've done OK from proper, working class stock. - L
Thanks for the class words. Glad we can bring a bit of Newcastle, and humour, to you on the other side of the globe! - L
The real posh 1s have basically ne accent at all am thinking maybe from outside off the toon Tyneside area av been away from toon for that long am beginning to forget what ever1 sounds like now 😢
Took their foot off the gas after the Tonali goal to conserve energy . Still a good professional win and what a top 5 club needed to do. Tonali and Isak were brilliant. Bruno and Murphy were passing great today too. Let’s keep the positive vibes against Fulham next week.
completely agree mate and I said so at the time...took their foot off the gas almost as soon as tonali scored
Great to see you three smiling again 🤝👌🖤🤍
Always, mate. - L
As I’ve been saying all along, TONALI IS HIM. Glad you all are now on board. Great watch guys. 🤩
Could never say he was him until he played, though. That was the point all along! - L
Tonali masterclass, he seems to be really enjoying his football and using last year as his motivation. Bring on Fulham, safe trip home lads.
Winners playing for one another its a great thing
Eddie said Bruno and Isak both were sick before the match, so I completely get why Howe took them out. We have no real replacements for either of them.
What I found strange was Miggy coming on and risking a injury then his move is done just very strange take chances
Get a grip lad
it was giving the chance for the fans to say farewell as they did. Do you always think of the worst thing that can happen mate ? 😅
It's not really a huge risk. - L
Total agree with views on today's game, spot on .
Happy Sunday indeed lads!
Talking of rewriting history - I remember Liam telling me in Sept that Sandro was ‘not a 6’ . In December he said Sandro had ‘10 games to prove himself’. He also said Jacob M did nothing against Wolves - except have a foot in all 3 goals .
@PaulFranks-cx3yd that's not correct. And you know it. I said i wanted to see him trusted to play 10 games by Eddie - and this is the result. Re Tonali, he hadn't really played 6 before, so you knew more than me and the manager, who didn't want to play him there either. His legs, drive etc make him suited to an 8 in this system, but I'm glad Eddie has found a way that works. He trained Tonali as an 8 for 18 months btw. Remember, you can only judge what you see, not what you imagine. So your rewriting history comment is poor. The past is the past, this is the present. Do you want me to judge performances now on standards of the past? That wouldn't be very relevant. Can't even remember what was said about Murphy after Wolves. - L
Happy Sunday lads 👍💪👍
Another good show lads 👍
I didnt think that was complacency by us the last half hour...we had the game won and took iur foot off the gas. This is what good teams do
Fair point, that. - L
Thanks Lads
Thanks for your continued support 👍- L
Good stuff. Can we put it to Eddie Howe in a conference why the club hasn't taken the pl to court over PSR regulations?... Especially reading he said we lost out on that player who has gone to City and using psr regs as a reason again. The rule should be getting challenged in court if it is stopping the growth of a business to become successful... City did it.
@@Britisheats that's not a question for Eddie Howe. - L
"Wax̌ lyrìcal about Miggy" ... sometimes Geprdie Journos are pure poetry 😂😂😂
😆
Am I the only Newcastle fan that thinks hall is not a defender, he can't defend at all, especially when under pressure. I want to see him tried in midfield because he has a nice first touch and can see a good pass. Tonali is unbelievable, he's by far our best player. Jacob Murphy that pass wow.
It’s a bit like TAA in that regard, better going forward than defending.
His defensive game has improved incredibly this season. - L
Well done lads, good coverage, but Matt Le Tissier is a hero for truth-telling reasons!
Aye, maybe to you, but to me he's a wonky-faced worldy (v NUFC) machine. - L
@GeordieJournos of course he's scored wonder goals against us, sadly, but thank God for people prepared to do their research and speak out! 💥
While I agree Howe was right to make changes, I’m concerned that he doesn’t rate Osula since there’s no reason why he cannot get on the pitch in a game like this, and Howe’s tactics weren’t great in the second half when we were showing So’ton way more respect that played to their advantage and nearly got them another goal
Don't that's right. Trust and 'rate' are two different things. Plus, he doesn't have to come on, even though everyone wants him to. Changes, to me, were fine. - L
Lad in front of me had a toon army Macedonia flag. Lad behind me was over from New Zealand. A noisy away end for sure
It really was. - L
Dear all,
Canny video as always👍
Safe journey home🙏
Regards,
Isak could have had four on his own. Joelinton and Murphy both hit the post (although J7 was offside). But we also got extremely lucky on Schär's blunder that it was offside. I'm starting to think Burn and Botman should be the starters. So not brilliant, but job done, and those 2nd and 3rd goals are highlight-reel stuff.
Yes, but I think the Schär thing is a shout gone wrong to leave it, and although he’s been a bit slack at the back this year he’s not bad, he’s just not the player he used to be.
we would miss schars raking passes to set us away from defence into attack...nobody else can do this
Botman still finding his feet. - L
I find it quite funny that people who’s shape is shall we say Going South telling BDB a professional footballer “that’s not the way to do it you should of done this “or maybe it’s just my weird sense of humour
That would rule everyone out of critiquing any football unless you're currently playing then. Silly concept. - L
Chill man it was supposed to be lighthearted.I guess that’s the problem with all these videos
@@terrym61 totally chill. But like I say, football can be critiqued by those who don't play it. No fuss. - L
Wasn’t our best but 3 points will do 👍. Points of concern for me the goal and how may times to we give teams free headers in our box. Go to other end where we win numerous corners and we don’t look like doing anything with them, delivery of crosses is poor and no one really attacks ball! We have got to start doing better with set plays. Hey a win is a win but we need to do better HWTL
All fair points. Thanks for sharing them. - L
Dom, I don't think it is PSR that contributed to the competitiveness of the EPL. You can still see the cartel-6 spending insane amount of money on players. But the other 14 have also now got the financial muscle to outbid anyone from other leagues bar the two Spanish teams. Players who are supposed to be the rising gems from other leagues find themselves now playing in the EPL in one way or another.
A fair point. It's just happened in a time where PSR has become more prominent in the Premier League.
- D
Burn was only out of position on the Left because Anthony Gordon didn’t track back. Otherwise he would have dealt with the cross
Well observed. - L
lovely stuff today, and good chat. get schar out of this 11 he has to be the next to fall to the wayside though, slow, sloppy, not tall enough, not good enough in the air for this team anymore
He's not been great this season, but I'm loathe to totally write him off just yet. - L
Started slow we had four chances in four minutes then obviously they scored.
Correct. Started well, goal stunted momentum. - L
As back up to Isak maybe Wilson will be back soon unless he trips up over a pavement on the way to the ground
I won't be holding my breath. - L
The standard of this league is the poorest it’s been. That’s why us, Bournemouth and Forest are up there. Sorry if that triggers people. Liverpool are the only good team and they have the tendency to bottle it.
I'd argue this is no outstanding team of the ilk of Man City, but a better average team in the division. Bournemouth are very good. - L
I'm watching on Saturday and found that opening very distasteful
The video or the game? - L
