Amazing video! Definitely going to use the advice you gave to the 0:44 clip, of priming not just one lecture, but multiple lectures of the same topic/concept.
As an older person going back to school, your videos have taught me a lot of new ways to learn. I do not stick to one technique to learn. The U.S. schools have failed us.
First of all, really want to show appreciation to the previous little workshop you had with CEOs in a previous video. That really showed me practical steps of how learning should be. I would really love a video where you go in-depth about micro decision-making when you're forming and confirming connections and coordinates on mind maps. Maybe a nitty gritty detailed video on how to follow along making relationships, based on what and how. That would be really helpful. Thanks a lot Justin
Thanks for your message. I appreciate it. I'll take that on board and think about how I can try to do that. The problem is that TH-cam is not great for those kinds of videos as the algorithm punishes longer videos that aren't broad appeal (to an extent). I'm thinking about the best way to do this. This is also one of the reasons I have a paid course in the first place because I don't have to worry about an algorithm.
@IamKudos his paid course is super high quality, highly recommend from personal experience. Much more benefit than expected - it is effortful but I really think it's a game changer
Justin, if you haven’t already, I would appreciate it if you could create a video just going over your revision/study methods, how to use them and how they work. Like an “all in one video”. Thanks, ❤
That’s because flashcards were never meant to be a resource to learn something. This seems to be a common misconception spread here. Anki was never designed to learn complex information. Rather it’s meant to review what you have already learned and understood. That’s my main complaint with Justin’s take on Anki. He makes it sound like Anki is the learning platform. You can do what he says using mind maps and whatnot for deep processing AND still use Anki to review that information for the long run
mine is questioning everything for understanding and analyse first and relate atleast 5 similar topics , evaluate , apply to solve problems , teaching with spaced revision .
dr, if you may, do try and review indian study methods and routines we employ for competitive exams like JEE, NEET, UPSC, CAT. i think you'll be in for a treat 😂
I think Justin you should make an video on Richard Feynman's studying technique, a lots people are saying this is one of best way to study with cognitively processing of information not just remembering everything.
In my country it was mendetory to do all the homework. If you failed to do so, your grade got worse, waaay worse, since the teacher thought of you as a lazy student.
In these instances I recommend: 1) Is it marked as complete/not complete, or actually graded on quality? If graded on quality, is it marked strictly? - If it is only complete/not complete, or the grading is not hard to meet, then do the bare minimum and save as much time as possible. 2) If neither of these are possible, and you HAVE to spend lots of time doing homework to a high quality, you MUST develop more efficient priming and encoding skills so that you can work ahead of the class schedule and not have to worry about it during the week. This will require you to be proactive at getting resources and learning objectives so you can self-study. Obviously it requires a greater degree of skill and a full studying system to pull this off. While I cover this in my paid program, it's a little harder to teach all the nuances of creating such a system from A-Z on TH-cam. I'll think of how I can meet these needs in future videos without being algorithm-punished though.
Tip from a low budged student: buy a graphic table instead of a tablet I'm preety comfortable with my laptop but missed a "digital handwritten" note sometimes, the table solved my problems and the price is less than 10% of a decent tablet (at least in my country) Really, game changer
Hey please make a video on your opinions and advice for neet and jee aspirants in india ......how you view the exam and what methods should they follow etc 😊
I can't believe doodling is a thing. And I'm not saying that because it's stupid, but because I've been doing iton for many years, and have always looked crazy in the library. At first I was making random hands movements on a blank paper with a pen. And during my least year, I was simply mimicking writing, with no pen or paper. I literrally can't stop myself from doing it while I'm being focused and reading on a topic
Yea it does help with focus. The only problem is that it isn't the magic solution for most people (unless the only thing stopping them was a slight reduction in focus - which is unlikely).
Id say flash cards are comparatively more useful in law school since precision of exact wording matters a bit more; which anki is somewhat conducive to.
You got a mind map method to get me some friends? Huh? Justin Sung? 😂 But seriously this was so great man.
